Having lived in homes with flimsy aluminum doors, I can think of one reason to prop the door...the locks have a very bad habit of locking themselves when the door is shut. I guess the little mechanism wears out and when you push the little latch thing up to unlock the door any little jar will cause it to fall back down, thus locking the door. Now why would someone want to prop the door? Answer...To make sure the door didn't lock by its self, so they could get back in. Just a thought

I posted this a few pages back. IF an intruder wanted to make sure the door did not slam shut as he was leaving with the sleeping child, he may have used the block to prop it open.

I've spent nearly the whole day reading these threads on sweet Haleigh. My initial thoughts was the gf but now I'm not so sure. I wouldn't be so quick to rule out another family member, perhaps the bio mother has something to do with it.

I think it's unfair to say it's the father or the gf at this stage, until we know more facts. The gf is very young to be thrown into the step mother role and perhaps things were getting too much for her, she definitely seemed very scared talking to the 911 operator, but, I think she was afraid of Haleigh father more than anything. He sounded like a crazed mad man - understandably given the circumstances, but I fear this is not the first time she has seen his temper.

I hope Haleigh is found safe and unharmed but I have a terrible feeling. If someone has her(other than a family member) then I cannot imagine how terrified she must be feeling right now.

IIRC the bio-mother was almost 2 hours away and due for a visit this week, the timing is off....

A cinderblock isn't that heavy to lift for a 17 yr if she wanted to. She may have came home and found the house like that.

Her story stinks since the beginning, inconsistent.

That's a heckuva thing to say. Very selfish, IMO. She could have said something like she was sorry she let it happen or she hopes the girl is found safe. Nope, she focuses on herself of course. Certainly sounds familiar, like another case we know of.

If I was a parent of a missing child I would be insulted if any of the Anthony's offered their assistance, an abducted child and a child murdered by the mother is 2 different things altogether. No offence to George, I like him, just not the rest of the Anthonys.

He said he never noticed any cinder blocks in the back yard and didn't know where it would have come from, much different than he didn't know what a cinder block was. I've never seen a bridge built with cinder blocks either. They use preformed concrete slabs.

I'm the dummy who didn't know a cinder block wasn't the same thing as a concrete block but surely the dad does.

I find nothing odd in that statement at all. GF is innocent IMO.

Hi little_miss_smart- I agree with almost everything that you are saying, it is either:

1-friend of a friend kinda thing> feeling gf side. maybe... mom's, but doubt it.
2 a neighbor that has stalking her out.

The only thing that i would add to ponder in regards to the gf being scared while speaking with 911. She was, but could it have to do with the FEAR of having herself been abused in the past...So, she is scared for Haleigh and scared for herself. I have been seeing and hearing Nothing other than a father that is out of his mind scared that some SICO has his baby girl...imhp
