Thank you, Payroll! I have the pdf on my laptop as well but it didn't cross my mind to divide it up like this. Duh! lol24-CF-000083
Davis, Christopher Gregory
I was able to download the 72 page document to my laptop. I know it's too big to upload here so I'm saving it again but in small sections. I may be able to get some of it uploaded.
Pages 1-8 is the probable cause document. I had to split it into 2 PDFs.
Yeah, I found it on their website...thank you.24-CF-000083

ONLY ON FOX 4: What a man bought, that could prove he killed his Cape boyfriend
FOX 4's Senior Reporter Kaitlin Knapp takes a deep dive into 72 pages of court documents, revealing shocking new details from police in the case of a missing Cape Coral man, and his subsequent murder.www.fox4now.com
Unfortunately, we still don't know where Barry is. Don't know if we ever will. Everyone up here in Chicago need some closure. Friends and family need a place to visit him. I hope that door hasn't closed on everybody....Some quotes from this article:
"After searching Davis's phone through a search warrant later, police say Davis searched for "Walmart near me." Around 9:38 p.m., police caught Davis on camera buying a tarp, two rolls of utility tape and chocolate milk..."
"On July 21, another neighbor told police he saw Davis drag something out of the condo and that it sounded like a heavy tarp. The neighbor said the lights were out in the stairwell, but later came back on. Eventually Cape Coral detectives found that Davis's fingerprints were on the bulbs.
On that same day, documents say Davis bought a shovel and pick-axe at a Clewiston hardware store. He also had bought a hand truck in Cape Coral."
"...Police tracked his movements through license plate readers across several counties."
"On July 24, police noticed fresh cuts and scratches on his hands, forearms, ankles and shins. Davis said it was the cat"
The icing on the cake: "From the day Barry disappeared until August, documents say Davis used Barry's credit cards to buy several things, including car air freshners."
Thank goodness for it, but lord, what a dumb criminal.
Can't believe it's been a year....*Cape Coral Police arrested Barry Schmalbach's then-boyfriend for his 2023 murder. However, a year later, police are still looking for his body.
I would say everything points near the second Airbnb by Lake Okeechobee... Right? Because of all the debris found in that Airbnb including sand? The matted grass outside? That's the area that should be searched....don't you agree? I wonder if they have any other GPS locations besides at that second Airbnb house and the road to it and back? Maybe locations with something on foot? I think I remember reading that he (Davis) was wearing an Apple Watch I don't know if it was Barry's or not. Just my thoughts....JUL 19, 2024
[...]ONE YEAR LATER: Cape Police searching for missing murdered man Barry Schmalbach
Friday marks one year since anyone heard from Barry Schmalbach, a missing Cape Coral man who police say was killed. Police arrested his then-boyfriend for murder.www.fox4now.com
Documents released shed light on the days after anyone heard from Schmalbach. He wasn't reported missing until July 22 by friends in Cape Coral and in Illinois.
"With the new information that came out, we're hoping somebody in the community saw something that they didn't much of back then," Scaletta said.
Police searched in different areas for Schmalbach based on where Davis was, but to this day, they have not found his body.
When he was reported missing, community members, including the Marco Island Patriots, searched for Schmalbach.

The amount of rage it took to buy that pick axe and then dispose of it shortly afterward is mind-boggling. Absolutely sickening.AUG 20, 2024

I'm pretty sure I read in that 72 page report that at least the pickaxe was saved by Ace Hardware. So there should be some evidence on it. I'm guessing that they (murderer and defense attorney) know he is nailed for hiding Barry's body so they will come up with some type of accidental death for the reason of the cover up. Like sex gone wrong? Something like that? Trying to make it look like it wasn't premeditated murder. So that's why they're delaying this.... so they can come up with a new story. That would be my guess...what do you think?AUG 20, 2024

Well, I think for one, the defense has a difficult client. He first went to SC for his warrant, then was extradited back in June. One article says that he seemed confused in court. He's refused to appear in one instance. So I wonder how he's cooperating with counsel.I'm pretty sure I read in that 72 page report that at least the pickaxe was saved by Ace Hardware.
