Watch Live: Jacksonville police to give noon update regarding missing two missing Jacksonville children
The father of two missing Jacksonville children told police he was outside with them when they went missing Sunday.

The children's father, Bryan Williams, told officers he was outside setting up for a bar-b-cue and the children were outside with him, according to the report. Williams told officers he noticed his two children were no longer outside with him at about noon and he tried to find them.

Williams called 911 to report them missing, the report states.

JSO Public Information Officer Christian Hancock said Sunday family members searched for an extended period of time before reporting them missing to JSO at around 1:30 p.m.

JSO Update - Monday, Dec 16, 2019

JSO Sheriff - Mike Williams
  • The family has been and remains cooperative at every effort of the investigation
  • 100 patrol officers, JFRDs, USR teams out, 150 investigators, 40 recruit class members out searching
  • Extensive search that includes a very dense wooded area and that search continues
  • Asking the community to remain vigilant, please search property, sheds, under mobile homes, abandoned cars
Questions
  • Any belief that there is more to the story than these children wandering off? Are you looking at something else like maybe an adult being involved? - "Right now, everything is an option. We are working multiple scenarios. Foul play could be a factor, obviously at this point we just don't know."
  • Any inconsistent stories amongst the family members? - "So we've got no indication as of yet that anybody involved or who are close to these children are involved in any way."
  • Identified any person of interest? - "No, not as of yet. Again, we're working an extensive search operation, we're also looking at any potential foul play scenarios, a lot of things are at play right now."
  • Looking for sex offenders? - "Absolutely. We've done all that. There's a couple in here we've been in heavy contact with. We actually have a radius of a few miles that we're talking in."
  • Can you speak to whether or not both parents were home? - "Yeah, both were home and both do live here."
  • Have crews found anything? - "So, we have found nothing as of yet"
  • Has the family been cooperative, can you describe how they have been to deal with? - "Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. So, I have not spoken to the family. But with the investigators that have talked to them - acting as you could imagine parents would act. And again, cooperative in every way"
  • Looking into any type of custodial disputes with the family? - "It is always an option, we're digging into all that at this point."
  • Where are they searching? - "Key areas to search as we mentioned obviously retention ponds, we got a dive presence in those areas using sonar, using drones. Heavily wooded areas, especially to the North, we're doing a lot of searching in that area. Abandoned cars, there's a significant number of abandoned trailers in this complex that we're looking at."
  • Any history of domestic violence and do the parents live together? - "The two parents do live together, I don't have a record of domestic violence at this point amongst the parents."
  • Any working surveillance? - "So we're looking to pull everything we can find. So there is a little bit. And we have pulled what we have found so far and continue to look at that."
  • Saw a woman speed down this road, have you talked to them and have they elaborated? - "We've had investigators and people talk to them, I don't know where we are at with that as of yet, but we're looking into that as well."
  • Reporter asked "When will you give up?" What kind of question is that????

Any description on the speeding car that was seen leaving the area with a female driving? What is the weather there? Are mom and dad united in the search?

Weather is clear. Mom & dad are together and getting some rest. Grandparents were interviewed earlier.
There are other siblings, I believe grandma said 7 in all.
No one has ruled out custody fights.
We have heard nothing else about the waitress who said she thinks she saw the boy with a man at a restaurant in GA, and we have heard nothing else about the car that sped out of the park yesterday at 11:50am.
