WINTER HAVEN - Christina Voltaire felt a bit under the weather a year ago today. She curled up in bed wearing a robe and perused her laptop.

Missing Winter Haven college student wanted locks changed

There's new information in the case of a missing Winter Haven college student.

Christina Voltaire disappeared from her apartment, where she'd been studying Nuclear Medicine and having a cup of tea, in January of 2011. The 22-year-old lived alone.

Winter Haven Police Chief Gary Hester told a producer for a TV show the news during a recent interview. He says the same day Christina went missing she'd asked her apartment manager to have the locks changed in her unit.

Unsolved Cases: Winter Haven Police Seek Clues In 3 Other Crimes

An 18-year-old boy who was chased down and shot in the early morning hours of Easter Sunday 2007.

A 38-year-old woman who was killed by a bullet fired through her apartment window May 18, 2010.

A 22-year-old Haitian woman who disappeared from her apartment without a trace in 2011.

Christina Voltaire disappeared "just like that," Hester said. "She vanished into thin air."

If she is alive today, which police say is not likely, she is 23. She was last seen at IHOP in Winter Haven on Jan. 7, 2011, where she appeared fine.

Christina has been missing for almost 4 years. Her family needs answers!

I also have some attraction to this case since it involves Haitians living in South Florida, which kind of resonates with me since I was a Haitian living in South Florida at one point in time.
