They can only speak to each other if the DA ok's it, but the DA will not. And KM , SG's attorneys can work together for a better deal.

it's weird i'm so used to watching real life TV crime shows where you meet the players, see the the crime, see the evidence, and watch LE solve the crime while simultaneously piecing it all together yourself - all ending with the conviction and sentencing of the guilty in under 30 minutes or an hour. this is like one of those crime show episodes but it's taking years not minutes to all play out to the end game and get all wrapped up with a little red bow on it which makes it so frustrating.

I am not an attorney.....so, can KM and SG request to speak with each other? Can their 2 separate attorneys work together to get the best deal for both of them?

Idk. But since the attorney works for you; Then I guess that they can have you pass messages to the people you want to pass messages to.

But imo. Garcia will try to minimize KM involvement and CA will try to minimize his family's involvement.

So the guys will not snitch on the ladies since their goose is cooked anyways.

Now LR only snitched because he was already doing 12 years federal for unrelated charges. So he had nothing to lose.

But imo. The men of the house which is Garcia and Charlie will try their best to accept a plea that leave the women out of it. Jmo

It doesn't matter.
IMO the prosecution doesn't need SG or CA to flip on KM or DA. The evidence alone looks like it could bury them. It appears DA was writing checks and KM was cashing them. All for a no-show job. And KM will probably flip anyway blowing herself up and everyone else who's guilty with her. In so many words, they're all F'ed.

Agree. But Charlie could say he forged those checks if his plan is to leave mom out of the conspiracy. Jmo.

Tiptoeing with this, but, if the A's shows a pattern for example, of writing checks and loaning cars to CA's g.fs both past and present, might that explain why KM received them, never mind why they might do that?
imo, speculation.

Agree. And my question is. Why would Charlie give Garcia a birthday present.

And why would Garcia accept it.

Especially since Charlie had relations with Garcias childrens mother.

So imo. KM have both lovers hooked.

Have wondered if the go pro was code for something else, and if (cannot immediately recall if the present was given prior to the murder) it might have been given for the purpose of recording nasty deeds.

speculation, imo.

maybe it was the gun?????

On April 29, 2016 at 3:03 p.m. CA tells KM that he bought her husband, Garcia, a go Pro for his birthday.
KM tells CA that he should have given the Ferrari he owns as a present.

I think CA did actually get Garcia a go pro for his birthday. It seems like at that point, CA knew the police were starting to close in as they had recently tried the sting on his mom. He started getting paranoid that Katie or Garcia were going to cooperate with the police. He was desperately trying to keep her happy and thus loyal. It might have worked, in the short term. But what good are the gifts if Katie is in prison for life? She'll give him over soon enough.

It's interesting that David Lat is compelled to qualify Tamara's observations about Wendi "looking really calm" after the murder by mentioning that Wendi has "spoken openly about how she sometimes has “bizarre reaction” to traumatic events." Sociopaths also have inappropriate reactions.

here's another real life case that kind of sounds familiar -

Killer Grandma on Snapped!

Grandma Ann Trexler moved to Florida to spend more time with her granddaughter. When the girl’s father decided to move her to Montana, Ann hired a hitman to bring the relocation plan to a dead stop.

When grandmother Ann Trexler relocated to Florida, it wasn’t just to spend her retirement years in the sun. Ann wanted to spend more time with her oldest daughter, Tina, and her six-year-old granddaughter. Tina shared custody of the child with her ex-husband Ron, an arrangement that worked well until “Moms” Ann moved to town. Ann threw herself into her role as grandmother, and resented the child’s closeness with Ron and, especially, Ron’s new wife. In August of 1998, Ron petitioned the court to give him primary custody, telling the court that his ex-wife and her mother were disrupting his daughter’s school and social life, cursing his new wife in front of the child, and their hostility was affecting the girl’s physical and mental health. But the court never had a chance to rule on Ron’s petition. On the morning of October 6, when Ron opened the door to leave for work, a shot rang out. As Ron ran back into the house the shooter followed, shooting him eight times, while his panicked wife called 911 from the bedroom. Before he fled, Ron’s wife heard the shooter say, “This is for her.” Ron bled to death on the kitchen floor, curled up in the fetal position. Investigators believed Ron had been targeted for execution, but when the alibis of the usual suspects – his current wife and his ex – checked out, the investigation stalled. The break in the case came when police found the murder weapon, and traced it back to local hairdresser, Kim Miller – Ann Trexler’s hairdresser. Faced with a murder charge, Kim confessed that Ann had frequently wished aloud that Ron was out of the picture, so Kim hooked her up with someone who could make that wish come true. Using Kim as a go-between, Ann paid a man $10,000 to take Ron out. At her trial, prosecutors used Kim’s confession, bank records showing the money trail, and cell phone records to prove Ann was behind Ron’s murder. The defense claimed Ann was an innocent, church-going grandmother who was being framed by a drug addict working the system to get out of a murder charge. But the jury didn’t buy the innocent grandmother act – they took just two hours to find Ann guilty and sentence her to life in prison.

JMO, speculation - Is David Lat part of WA defense team? a journalist would care about credibility and he appears to care about defending WA by raising unreasonable doubt.

No, Lat does not practice law and does not know the As. However, Above the Law is widely read by legal academics, many of whom were critical of ATL for early blog posts that suggested W's guilt before the evidence began to mount and while some (many?) of DM's friends were still doubtful of her involvement. My impression is that Lat has been extremely cautious since then to imagine scenarios in which WA might be innocent.

Here we go.

Why are people against abovethelaw.

They seem to update this case plus add some personal opinion. But imo. The site isn't bad.
