June's transcript:
June U's transcript is up on the clerk website. It's a beauty. It's too large to attach. I tried. Get it here, search Magbanua name on the criminal case setting: https://cvweb.clerk.leon.fl.us/public/online_services/search_courts/search_by_name.asp

June gives us oldtimers on this Websleuths thread a shout out toward the end. June told law enforcement to look us up and that she was reading every day back when she was with CA. Says they (meaning Adelsons) all read it. The insight into the Adelson family dynamics and other things are explosive. Great read. Some things to note from it:

Donna claims Dan is back from the grave, haunting them. Charlie knocked up Wendi's ex's boyfriend's nanny. Jeez. How incestuous can one clan be? Unbelievable. He also has women he keeps in Latin America and Asia. What a . June says Charlie wanted her to pop out a kid but not to marry her. June says, "he'll send someone for me now" or something close to that, which refers to a hitman.

For June:
June, girl, being single sucks but come on. You admit you and your family see Charlie for what he has done. I thought it might have been you who popped up to tell us that Charlie reads Webslueths and that he had a baby. LOL. Welcome, and seriously, step away from temptations of hot tubs and BMW's. It's plain desperado now. You're a pretty gal and have your future to look forward to. Don't limit yourself to C-level periodontists who allegedly order hits like a low budget scarface wannabe, okay?

KM's lawyers:
DeCoste has all the charm of a date rapist. Relax, I'm not calling him names, I'm referring to his courtroom charm. Seriously, this dude is channeling his inner Saul Goodman. How does he think this is working on a female jury? Pointing out the appearance of the beard of the undercover -- a hero who goes undercover in human trafficking cases to protect our society from awful evil -- so KM can walk the streets free? Also, he jabbed June U right away to ask her if she had children to hurt her. You can read in the attached transcript, she says Charlie wanted to have a baby with her. Douche move.

I am so annoyed by all the faces Kawass makes. Relax Tara, we all know you're putting on a show, tone it down to make it more real at least. It's not community theatre, its court. Cappleman's low-key demeanor is playing so well against the defense team. All of them.

Crazy that KM started laughing at DeCoste's gross cross of the financial forensic analyst. I can only assume it might have to do with him asking the financial analyst if she had been a VIP cocktail waitress. The commentators on Law and Crime network recap discuss it and how it was a horrible look for KM. "Somebody died," they said.

Newcomers reminder: One of KM's lawyers, DeCoste, "The Charmer," shares an addy with Charlie's lawyer. They share the penthouse suite. Let's hope they have an accurate mailman!

Garcia's lawyer, Saam Zangeneh:
Woooza. The poor guy can't manage to make a coherent point. Sleazy and unorganized.
"You'd agree with me...I'm not sure what I'm doing.... and you'd agree with me....I'm not getting paid for this....you'd agree with me, I'm on TV right now."

June U punched a big hole in his already far-reaching "Charlie is underground drug lord/club-kid theory."

The one good thing Zangeneh gave us is more Lacasse, gossip about the breakup and Wendi's behavior.

Renewed focus on Wendi -- new examples -- Consciousness of Guilt:
The new Lacosse angle has been a real highlight for me. Not only did he discredit Wendi, but he also demolished her character. She carried herself with this bemused amusement as to why she's even there. How nothing was too wrong. Everything is fine. Lying about little things. See Wendi on the stand below.

this_is_fine.jpg

I'm now thinking it's a likely possibility that Wendi had a hand in both trips, details like the cars (first trip and last trip and both silver sedans like Lacasse) and timing it, so he is fleeing the state. New signs of the guilt of consciousness on June 4th. Pepto and nerves. (Wait -- she sent Lacasse out on an errand that evening?) I think she made a big slip there mentioning the hitman to Lacasse. Who initially said the cost was 15k, but later changed his answer to say that it could have been 50k. See the article below.

AND, prosecutors are making a considerable deal of July 1st when the planning happened. Wendi was home amongst the alledged conspirators at that time.

So the date of the murder - July 18. A previous failed trip by SG and LR in June. And another attempt we don't know about? Does this mean hitmen were sent to Tallahassee THREE TIMES? Let's get McNair on the stand PRONTO.

'That's what we went to go kill that man for': New details emerge in FSU professor's killing

"McNair, who shared a cell with Garcia and two others, came forward in December and told investigators Garcia had talked about being hired to kill someone."
"Garcia said he was approached by his "baby mama," who had been asked by a woman named "Don Adelson" to kill someone for money, McNair told an investigator in a recorded interview."
"Garcia said the same woman had paid $50,000 to two other people, but they took the money and never followed through with the killing, McNair said."

thanks for all this commentary - really illuminating. Why isn't McNair testifying? IMO we already have enough to convict both but I just worry about the outlier juror who needs more and more evidence...Does the conviction need to be by a unanimous vote?

I loved your whole post, but this was my favorite line: "DeCoste has all the charm of a date rapist." It's SO true. Oh, and the comments about Saam Zangeneh were spot on. I don't know why he's so high priced, he seems like a lousy trial attorney.

I don't know who will take the stand next. Only a few spots remain.

Awww, poor Charlie was complaining in June of 2018 how bad his life was and he was miserable with his current girlfriend (the one he cheated on June with...oh wait, they were just on a "break" when he got the other girl pregnant). Cry me a river, dude. He's a serial cheater and becomes more vile and repulsive with everything I read about him.

As to the file being too large, a few months back for another case I put a too large PDF into an online free *pdf compressor* to make it smaller. Later today, when I have access to a computer I can try to compress it and upload it here if somebody else hasn't done it previously. Just Google PDF compressor and you will find it. Very easy to use. I think I had to get it under ??? Megs for it to post here as a PDF?? And I didn't even have to split it into two parts before I compressed each part.

ETA, I think it worked. Attached is the compressed PDF thank you so much for the link.

Murder for Hire hit man. They split a $100K payoff for murder.
*Katherine Magbanua (32) (Garcia's wife) arrested (Oct. 2016) & charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy & solicitation of murder were brought together into one case on Tuesday (3/20/18). Plead not guilty. Held without bond.
KM has rejected several offers of immunity for her testimony.
Trial started on 9/23/19. Jury: 10 women & 2 men & 1 alternate (woman); was 2 alternates one got sick & excused on 10/3/19.

Court info from 9/23/19 thru 10/4/19 reference post #802 here:
Found Deceased - FL - Dan Markel, 41, FSU Law Professor, Tallahassee, 18 July 2014 - #7 *arrests*

10/7/19 Day 7 Trial: Jury could get the case Wednesday. Prosecution plans to rest Monday.
Accomplice:
*Luis Rivera (33) charged with 1st degree murder. Took a plea deal (Oct. 2016) & plead guilty to 2nd degree murder. Will testify against Garcia & Magbanua. Will receive 19-year sentence to run concurrently with his 12 year Federal time, which he is already serving.

POIs: Wendi Adelson (ex-wife of Markel), her bro Charlie, mom Donna Sue Adelson (68) & father Harvey Adelson. Investigators have not charged anyone in the Adelson family in connection with Markel’s death, but say Adelson’s mother and brother – Donna and Charlie Adelson – paid $100,000 to have Markel killed following the couple’s contentious divorce so their two young sons could move to South Florida.

Wow. Thanks for the compressed PDF, @dixiegirl1035 !

‘He was the perfect guy except for the murdering and cheating’ I laughed out loud for a whole minute!!! Come on girl! Even when the FBI guy repeated it, I could hear the incredulity in his voice!

Charlie was pooping his pants! And his mother wow almost sounded like she was justifying what had to be done and now she feels haunted. This is a sick family!

And even after all this June still talked to him right before her testimony and wanted to walk back what she said. She was defensive on the stand. What would he have to do to be unworthy of her support?

I almost felt sorry for her when she said he had a baby and a dog now and she’s still single. And she thought he was the one. Is it the money or has he just manipulated her so good? I sympathize to a certain extent but after you’ve had all this time apart and you can look at objective evidence against him things should start clicking for you. But it looks like she went back to being his friend during this trial. Smh.

ETA: I guess this explains KM not taking the deal. These women feel sorry for him. They don’t want to hurt him. I don’t know how he does it but he’s got a hold on them. Once KM is found guilty there’s no turning back. She can’t unring that bell. She WILL do time. Why risk it? Unbelievable! She is willing to do time for him?

Thoughts, info, and MY OPINIONS:

What a *******.

Decoste Adress: Contact a Miami Criminal Defense Lawyer | Miami Criminal Attorney

Garcia's lawyer, Saam Zangeneh:

Notes I made from reading the transcript that you had linked above and what she said. .......

Near the end and Page 114, talking about not telling Charlie that she had been interviewed. And June says "he'll hire someone for me eventually

She talks about a photograph of her at Charlie's house where the mainstream media took a photo and Mis identified her as KM ( I've never seen that picture.) " he even got mad when I was in the paper and stuff. But that wasn't my fault. And I said you never told me about this, so. And he said I sounded stupid or something. And that I looked bad in the picture. (e.d. what a cad! Trying to deflect and make her feel bad about Talking to the media when she had no idea, and then telling her she looked bad in the photograph pffft. What a manipulator!!!)

" I just thought it was weird that he never asked or wondered once, like who really did it. He never mentioned like oh, I wonder who did it. Or this person might have done it. Or I feel bad for Dan or, like no remorse or anything."

Charlie " just likes to have a lot of fun, and he's irresponsible I think, just because he doesn't have to work now, and he has nothing else to do. He likes to drink and stuff."

Charlie got a second cell phone when all this was going on. And he might have gotten another one.

He would talk to other people on the application of WhatsApp. (Yet we've heard nothing about that in the trial, is there just no way that law enforcement can capture such?)

Charlie used to have clothes by his bed in case they (e.d. LE) came to get him in the middle of the night as he was very scared that they would come and take him.

Charlie told her that he was cheating on the then current girlfriend and baby mama. ( Wendi's ex-boyfriends nanny). He discussed things weren't going well with her and he wanted her to move out and to pay her money but he could not because of the case, and he might not be able to see his boy. ( e.d. we know how this family has with custody, this girl should be very very careful)

She's aware that Charlie has traveled to cartajena Colombia and the Philippines.( where he has yet another girlfriend)

She says that Charlie is investing in real estate as his main career at the time of the interview, more than working is a periodontist. "He doesn't even work at his office". " he works for one of his good friends, R**ert St***on, who's a dentist and they kind of like have an arrangement or something"

Charlie lost quite a bit of friends during the time they were dating. Charlie told her he stopped being friends with.....

1) D***en P**e, 2) R**n Fi****trick, (it was her understanding that they had a business together, and R**n didn't pay or something and they argued but she did not know the main details. The business was called Legal funding which was they fronted cash to people if they were suing for an accident or something and then they pay them back later with interest) 3) Qu***on St****son, 4) An***io..( *advertiser censored***nio is a lawyer who used to live in Miami he moved to Davie or something or Fort Lauderdale . Charlie and he fought over the case and said something like "at least I don't pay people to do my dirty work or something like that and they started fighting at the dinner table" she heard).. some of these were friends since childhood according to her. 5) ***ren.. was his best friend and he's a periodontist also. "He was there that night and I guess he sided with *advertiser censored***nio". 6) "and all the wives, like there's a whole group of them" (e.d. she mentioned most of the falling out was two months before her birthday when he called her, so that would have been around the time of the arrest and the information leaking into the media?) 7) ... and the infamous ***ry The Roommate ( supposedly they are no longer friends because of a roommate dispute. That Charlie blamed J**ry for using his house to sell something there when Charlie was out of town and Charlie kicked him out of the house)

At the time of the interview, Charlie was still friends with S**ly, and ***ert St***on.

She also mentioned W*****ein who was an attorney friend who was helping with him with advice but they weren't officially signed or anyting.

I have purposely starred out the names of people who have not been on the stand so their names will not come up in a search engine.

ETA the interview was on July 24th, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:55 p.m.
