Did anyone else notice on the local news video posted on yesterday’s old thread, that there was line of red lawn flags between TS’ home and the home to the right? Those usually mean electrical line markers. They weren’t present in earlier news feeds right after the crime. Easy to miss them on the video as it’s a quick camera shot. Wonder if it has to do with the alarm system, maybe they found a line cut? They would not have released that detail publicly (or thru NG!) And it may explain the need for (multiple) people from the security co onsite and the brothers then doing a retest (maybe after the system was re-engaged.)
I too think the Sheriff has dropped reckless comments at times. If he already had enough info to suggest this tragedy would become a book/movie, he wouldn’t have made that very comment - and we’d likely have seen an arrest or POI named already. And to say definitely there was no theft (if they did, only saw that in a post), seems strange so early in the investigation when TS is dead and the husband has not gone back in the house. How did they determine that? I still think there may have been some sensitive info or intellectual property she had in that home, or someone thought she did (does anyone know what kind of book she was writing?), which may have been the motive for a break in. No way LE could make a determination yet as to what is or is not missing in a house of that size.

It's been reported that there was a dog sitter there during TS's absence. Who else did she employ - housekeeper, nanny etc.? These people would often be there when TS and her husband were out of the house, so wouldn't they all have access to the security alarm code?

Did any friends or partners of the employees visit the house when TS and her husband were away?

One of the (many) things I don't understand, is why the perp would kill TS around dawn, when it was getting light out, and TS and neighbours where getting ready for work. It would have been less risky to do this in the middle of the night, when she was asleep and he could make a getaway under cover of darkness.

I agree. If TS is no longer alive and the husband hasn't been back into the house, how do they know nothing is missing? They might not have been after the usual stuff like electronic equipment or money, but it could have been something stored on a usb stick or physical documentation such as files of some kind.

This may be the reason why the neighours heard loud voices. The perp wanted something, and TS didn't want them to have it.

I don't understand this. Why would there be 3 cameras trained on the front of the house, but nothing pointing towards the side door that was jimmied - why would you not cover all entrances?

If someone is up to no good, they are not likely to come through the front door.
I was wondering that too as soon as they showed the above diagram of where the cameras were on NG.

Maybe the murder wasn't premeditated. I think she definitely knew her attacker who confronted her about something and then went into a rage over it and killed her. He/she could have grabbed a hammer from the garage when they decided murder was the answer. I watched the video of Dr. S speaking about the methods she employs in her practice... she appears to be a very strong, confident, intelligent woman, no nonsense type A unafraid to speak her mind and take a stand. A lot of men (and women) and possibly the killer are intimidated by powerful self expression; enough so to answer it with brutal, deadly force for whatever twisted reason. I hope we learn something soon.

I even thought he may have used the claw end of the hammer to jimmy the door open. It would be a perfect tool to do that. Once he gained entry they got into a heated argument and he had the hammer already in his hand and swung it at her in a rage killing her. Just a theory I have had from the beginning.

I am like you. I am not convinced this was premeditated.

IMO

That really makes no logical sense to me either. We have three entry doors into our home and we have cameras focused on all three. I cant understand why they wouldn't want a camera focused on all doors?

I love the pastel colored houses!
That's one of the things I love about Florida. My family lives in Naples which is same area as this case and I always love to see the colorful houses and buildings when I'm down there.

Who was the dog sitter? I feel like it was reported somewhere early on

I assume the dogs were in the house. I assume the sitter would have to access the house many times as dogs need to do their business.

How did that person get into the house?

We don't know what kind of dogs they are do we?

No matter what, I cannot see dogs being passive with an intruder and especially if the owner is getting killed.

What if the killer entered the house with the Dr?

What if the killer entered the house with the Dr?

IF the killer entered the house with the dr, it would mean that:

  • he probably stayed the night, but waited until early morning (when she was getting ready for work) to kill her
  • he staged the break-in (the jimmied side door) as no need to break in, if he was already in the house
  • OR, he didn't stay the night, but left, only to return and break into the house

What if the killer entered the house with the Dr?

If the killer entered the home with the Dr IMO they would be on camera together. Most likely the camera's would be motion detection activated. Otherwise why have camera installed? But this is just a guess on my part.

I too have an alarm system at home and have other people who needs to enter when we are not home. This is also a system with a monitoring center, they first call us and ask for a pass code before dispatching the police. We also have a special code to type in in case someone would make us disarm the system against or will. The police would be dispatched immediately. I'm in Europe, so I don't know if this option is available overseas, but why wouldn't it be? I wonder if she could have done that(typing in the emergency code) but wasn't able to, knew the person and didn't think to be in danger at first, was it a morning routine as usual, or that option simply wasn't available?

I was also thinking about disarming of the system. We also have people who needs to get access when we are not home. I made each individual a separate personal code. The system can handle 12 different codes. To each code is assigned the person's name, so when I look into the logbook it will say XY disarmed this and this door at this time. They are all aware the code is their own and nobody else knows what it is. So if a brake in occurs with the use of their code, the system will say XY was in our home. It's easy for LE. I hope everybody does this, because it's common sense and it's not that difficult to do. It makes the people with codes guard their code much better too.

This is also why I think maybe she forgot to set the alarm, or it was disarmed with the family code. Maybe it was disarmed with a family code at an unusual time, who knows. It makes sense to test the alarm to see if it was working, for example if the logbook says it wasn't set and that was uncharacteristic for her.

My sister has an alarm on her house, but leaves it off is she has company or is expecting someone. Could someone with the code have gone in ( dog sitter etc) have forgotten to ( or intentionally) NOT rearmed it when they left, allowing someone to be in there before the Doc got home, waiting for her? Sadly we have seen several very traumatic home invasions ( the Mansion Murders family, and the Doc in Connecticut) where the family was held hostage until they could be sent to get $$. Was she in that position but tried to fight when she thought she had a chance? Caught trying to escape? Im sure LE knows if the alarm was already disabled when she got home?

Yes, of course it's possible for someone to forget to set the alarm when they leave or even when they go to sleep. The logbook would show when it was armed and disarmed. You can go way back in time too.
It can be read on the screen of the device, they just need a valid code to enter the menu. The alarm company has an engineer code which they can use to log in if the engineer mode is turned on. If it isn't, then a code from the family(a code with high permissions) is needed to log into the menu. Then every log you need to find will become available.

Has anyone considered her work with the Transgender community as a motive? Maybe an angry ex spouse or someone who didn't share her accepting views on this issue? For those who aren't familiar with the area, it is mostly right leaning.
