I looked at those instagram photos too and couldn't find what people are talking about.

I don't think he looks genuinely happy. His demeanor in the photos seems distant and detached and his smiles look fake in most of the photos.
I agree with you. Seems cold, aloof.

JMO If you do not live here, you are not married to me, and you come into MY house and take things out, you are stealing. Everything in MY house that I share with my spouse belongs to me and my spouse. No one else. JMO

Why do they want a ring she was given by a man they dislike? He probably would have given them some of her personal belongings if they had asked. How dare they change the locks to HIS home? They should be arrested. JMO
I agree. If they had any business at all there it was to retrieve items needed for continuing care of baby. Otherwise, its theft.

“Why didn’t you stop the boat and drop the anchor to do something about it? And he said he needed to keep the boat on track, so his priority was to keep the boat on track,” Dayana told the news station.

He had enough time to get out of the hull, try to get the boat back on track?

So perhaps one hull was flooding? It seems if it was flipping over from just impact it would just flip over and no time to "get it back on track"?

Still not proving guilt or innocence but this makes most since, he had time to get out of the cabin, try to get it "back on track" and had time to get the life boat.

Last night I read, in an overview of Fountaine Pajot's history, that Fountaine Pajot launched four new models, including the Orana 44, in 2008.
They also refer to their cats as "cruising catamarans."

If Bennett's cat was a 1986, this doesn't make sense, unless he has two boats and only the 1986 was registered in Australia.

I didn't post the info last night because I wanted to do more research. However, because we are discussing Bennett's cat, I thought I would just throw this out there and see what you all think.

Interesting. I brought my ipad to the kitchen lol.

I'm now questioning the accuracy of what boat he had as I am getting no hits on 1986 Fountaine Pajot Orana 44

Would you link the video you mentioned? I'd like to watch it.

See my post #384 on here. I was reading backwards and I had already posted that when I saw your question.

If I remember correctly, Bennett only had a temporary passport, one that doesn't let him leave the country. Maybe that status has changed?

Also, lots of couples don't discuss their philosophies on raising kids, and once they have a baby it can get tumultuous working through the compromises. I see parents who don't agree all.the.time and sometimes they get pretty loud and downright disrespectful about it. However, they ultimately work through it.

But, if she had no intention of moving and he had no intention of moving.... they are at a standstill. I can see that as being a motive for something sinister. Having said that, I don't see how this guy could have capsized his catamaran by himself.

I just watched that video posted above about the big catamaran that capsized in "rough waters", and the water didn't look rough at all to me. If that's all it takes for a big one, how vulnerable is a little one out in deep seas with crazy currents? Scary!

RBBM.

Bennett is a dual Australian-British citizen. When a British national loses his/er passport abroad, needs to travel and can’t get a passport in time, s/he can apply for an emergency travel document (sometimes called an ‘emergency passport’):

"You can use an emergency travel document to travel to your destination through a maximum of 5 countries. You can also normally use it to return to where you are now if you live in the country you’re applying from.

Your travel plans (countries and dates) will be printed on your emergency travel document. If you change your travel plans once you have your emergency travel document, you’ll need to apply for a new one.

Your existing British passport will be cancelled in most cases."

https://www.gov.uk/emergency-travel-document

As to the bolded above:
"UK Emergency Travel Documents (ETD) aren’t valid for entry into the United States under the Visa Waiver Programme. If you’re planning to enter the US using an ETD you must apply for a visa from the nearest US Embassy or Consulate before you travel, or hold a valid lawful permanent resident card (often referred to as a ‘green card’), which you must have with you on arrival."
https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/usa/entry-requirements

Without an arrest warrant, I don't believe the US authorities can keep him leaving the country.

Random detail I noticed in the police report was that Bennet's Birthday is April 25, which is one day before he flew to FL from London.

Random detail.

I have security cameras and I believe he does too, given how much he was away from home. I doubt he bluffed. He had LE escort him over to the house to get the items. I'm personally sure that he has proof they broke in. You are skeptical, I know. I'm not on this part.

I very much doubt he filed a false police report.

And, if the sister didn't do it, then she would know that she wasn't caught on a security camera.

I agree the reporting is for sure off on the 1986 fountaine, which is a bummer because we can't find the boat's specs.

:bump:

Isabella's Facebook page is under Isabella Bennetta.

Ok the one pertaining to this case is 37 feet "surf into summer". I'm trying to find more info

"#Tribune Freeport Reporter

#US Coast Guard officials have covered over 5,000 square miles searching for a Florida woman presumed to have fallen overboard from a private catamaran in waters near Cay Sal in the northern Bahamas.

#Isabella Hellman, 41, and her husband, Lewis Bennett, had left Cuba around 5.30pm on Sunday onboard their 37ft catamaran, ‘Surf into Summer’. The vacationing couple was heading back home to South Florida when their vessel reportedly struck an unknown object and started taking on water around 1am on Monday.

#Mr Bennett, who was rescued a short time later from a life raft, told rescuers he left his Realtor wife at the helm while he went to retire below deck around 8pm.
#US Coast Guard press liaison officer Jonathan Lally told The Tribune that the incident happened 30 miles west of Cay Sal, in the Florida Straits.
#He reported that rescue crews have covered 5,260 square miles in their search for Mrs Hellman, a newly married wife and mother of a 9-month-old infant, who is still missing at sea.
#Asked whether she might have been able to swim and find refuge on a nearby cay, Mr Lally said they are not sure.

#“We don’t know if there are any cays she can swim to, and we don’t know at what point she may have fallen off the vessel,” he said.
#According to Mr Lally, the Coast Guard was initially alerted to the incident from an emergency position indicating radio beacon (EPIRB) around 1.30am Monday.

#“The EPIRB sent out 406mhz signal, and we also got personal location beacon (POB) as well. Our watch centre in the 7th Coast Guard District Command Centre in Miami also received a call from international emergency response coordination centre saying they talked to Lewis Bennett, the owner of the 37ft catamaran ‘Surf into Summer’,” he said.

#“They got notification from him that he struck some unknown object and his vessel was taking on water, and that he was getting ready to abandon ship.”

#The Coast Guard dispatched a Dolphin aircraft which spotted the life raft and a helicopter was called in to rescue Mr Bennett.

#“He informed us that they left Havana at 5.30pm on Sunday evening and he went down below 8pm on Sunday and his wife Isabella Hellman was at the helm at the time when he went down below.

#“And that was the last he saw of her. He woke up to the vessel striking some unknown object and noticed it was taking on water at a rapid rate. He came topside and did not see his wife and got into the life raft.”

#Mr Lally said the catamaran sank.

#Although Mrs Hellman has been missing for two days at sea, he said that one factor they can never account for is someone’s will to live.

#“Every search and rescue is different. There are a variety of factors that we take into consideration when we search for someone and every case is different. We account for the weather, current, and sea state, but one factor we can never account for is someone’s will to live.

#“When we go out it is always our hope when we are searching for someone we find them alive and bring them safely back to their families,” said Mr Lally, who paused for a brief moment.

#“ . . . If there is hope we will be out there searching,” he said.

#Cay Sal lies about 100 miles southeast of Key West, Florida.

#The couple was on a two-week vacation."

Is Isabella wealthy? Does he stand to benefit financially from her death?

Hiandmighty -- I vaguely remember seeing 1979 associated with the cat somewhere.

I could totally be wrong but for some reason I thought it was '79

Let me know if this helps, not sure on accuracy. I did a little checking and can't fine any MSM article referencing 1979 but I had this year in my head for some reason.

Some sailboats have the capacity to roll completely over and end up right side up. I assume he is talking about something like that.

Someone else mentioned basically that if divers didn't go under, how do they know where and how the boat is damaged. The boat may be more damaged than we have been led to believe.

I wonder the same. Maybe she got a lot in her previous divorce. To be able to pay $37k for a divorce is not chump change.

Also, didn't she either pay for the condo herself, pay for all of those renovations herself, or both?

"The Australian Maritime Safety Authority says the 1986 Fountaine Pajot Orana 44 lists Sydney as its home port." Antoine Lebreton, a French national, included in an online resume he had gone to St. Maarten ... from November to December 2013 to help Bennett refit the vessel, then called the Astoria.

"Lebreton said he met Hellman when Bennett came to St. Maarten to buy the boat." (Not this trip, but when Bennett bought the boat.)
