It’s been this long who knows what all might come up between now and then- seems they wanted to set a date- IANAL - but guessing the 4 weeks is for jury selection, and perhaps that’s the tentative part- as much coverage as it’s had might take a minute to seat a jury - MOO

However, Jared’s parents were seeking unsupervised visits with his children this spring and and as of June 2024 they are seeking full guardianship per the link in the article for fundraising for attorney fees

I have the case number for the guardianship case in Washington but not access to the records

I definitely appreciate this post. These parents should have these children, not Shana's parents.
I definitely wanted to donate to their legal expenses, and would not have known about it, if I had not seen the article. So thanks.

*Pretrial Hearing for both (@ 9am ET) – FL – Jared Galen Bridegan (33), father of 4 ambushed & killed (shot 4 times), his 2-year-old daughter was just feet away in the back seat, Jacksonville Beach, Feb. 16, 2022. – *Shanna Lee Gardner-Fernandez (36/now 37) indicted & arrested (8/17/23 by ATF agents in West Richland, Wash.), charged & arraigned (11/3/23) with 1st degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, solicitation to commit a capital felony & child abuse. DA will seek the DP. Held without bail on Fugitive warrant (in Benton County, WA). Was extradited on 10/20/23 to Florida. Plead not guilty. No bond. Judge denies to set bond (5/24/24). Judge denies bond (9/23/24). Duval County
*Mario Enrique Fernandez Saldana (34/now 36) arrested (in Kissimmee, Orange County, 3/16/23) & charged & indicted (3/16/23) & arraigned (4/4/23) with 1st degree murder with a weapon, conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder, solicitation to commit a capital felony & child abuse. In Orange County jail waiting for transfer to Jacksonville in Duval County. Transferred to Duval County on 3/22/23. Held without bond. Plead not guilty. DA will seek the DP. Duval County
Trial was set to begin on 4/13/24 for both was continued on 10/20/25 with jury selection.

9/23/24 Update: Saldana: Judge London M. Kite presiding. Asst. State Attorney Christina Simak Stifler; attorney for defendant Jesse Nolan Dreicer; defendant present in jail. Others present: Alan Mizrahi/Charles Wingard/Stephen Seigel (ASA) & James Hill & Shannon Day for defendant. Next pretrial hearing on 10/2/24 @ 9am & changed to 8:30am. Gardner: Judge London M Kite presiding. Attorney for defendant Jose Angel Baez; defendant present in jail. Others present: Alan Mizrahi, Charles Wingard & Stephen Seigel (ASA) & Patrick Korody & Rosemarie Peoples for defendant. Court Order Denying (without prejudice) defendant's motion to release defendant on bond, to prohibit the State using certain evidence at trial based on State's failure to disclose favorable evidence & for other relief. Court Order granting (by stipulation) defendant's motion to compel discovery (subpoenas issued under Section 27.04, Fla. Statutes to out of state witnesses). Hearing on defendant's motion for transcript of detective Christopher John's Grand Jury testimony held in full-taken under advisement-Order to be entered. Next pretrial on 10/2/24 @ 9am was changed to 8:30am. 9/28/24 Docket update: Motion to require the parties to file timely written responses to motions. Attorneys for Gardner wanted the case against her dismissed. They also asked if the case wasn’t dismissed that Gardner be released on bond. Judge London Kite denied those requests on Monday, but ruled “without prejudice” & told the defense they could bring up the issues in their motion again if new information came to light. Judge Kite granted a motion from the defense to compel the prosecution to hand over a list of records/people it subpoenaed who are out of state. Judge Kite did not rule on a motion the defense filed requesting a transcript of a detective’s grand jury testimony. Judge Kite is asking the defense & state to agree on a jury selection date & other key dates, so they can find a final date for the trial.
10/2/24 Update: Judge London M. Kite presiding. Asst. State attorney Christina Simak Stifler & attorney for defendant Saldana is Jesse Nolan Dreicer. Attorney for Gardner is Jose Baez. Defendants present in jail. Others present: Alan Mizrahi, Charles Wingard & Stephen Seigel (ASA) & Frank Tassone (Zoom) & Jesse Hill & Shannon Day for Saldana defense & Rosemarie Peoples for Gardner defense. Gardner: Hearing on defendant's motion to require parties to file timely written responses to motions held in part-taken under advisement-Order to be entered. Judge London Kite agreed to a final pretrial date of 10/13/25 & with jury selection expected to begin on 10/20/24. These dates are tentative. Next pretrial hearing for both on 10/17/24 @ 9am.
*Henry Arthur Tenon (61/now 62) – Plead guilty (3/17/23) to 2nd degree murder & will testify against Saldana & Gardner. Status hearing on 10/28/24.

So looks like the trial on 12/2/24 was moved to 10/20/25. Thank you!

Now will have to wait for @PayrollNerd - to see if the hearing on 11/15/24 is still on. :)

edited to - I don't really know WHERE I got that 11/15 date.... and the trial on 12/2 - ?? LOL! I shall wait on PayrollNerd.

Do you just need the dates from duval CORE courts records? I can log in and look that up? For just HT or all three?

They had a hearing today and have another pre trial set for 10/30/2024 two days after HT status hearing on 10/28/3024

The final pretrial is set for next year 10/13/2025 and jury selection set to begin a week later on 10/20/2025

IANAL but that’s how I read the clerk of courts log and I assume that there will be a bunch of dates between the next pretrial hearing on 10/30/24 and the final pretrial almost a year from now that will get scheduled and rescheduled along the way

At least that has been my experience with the courts in this area with serious cases- my own opinion based on my experience

Thank you so much for responding, but can you possibly provide more explanation for this whole year, and what might be Expected between the up coming pre trial this month and a final pre trial in Oct 2025.....

IANAL- but setting a trial date far out for a death penalty case isn’t all that unusual around here- speedy trials are not so common- lots of motions and issues over evidence and witnesses and whatnot- they set the trial date (well final pretrial date and jury selection) and then things will march along towards trial eventually- this case hasn’t been one that seems to indicate that the state is open or willing to deal in my opinion, I suppose that LWOP would be a wildcard option in the interim year to take death penalty off the table- but not likely in my opinion-

It just takes time in the courts in this area, many cases plea and deals are made- DP cases take a long minute to prepare- all MOO
