Vigil held in NY in Honor of Kelly

"The sisters of a missing Indian Rocks Beach police cadet honored her Saturday night in New York.

Lindsay and Lauren Rothwell, along with their friend Leslie Jackson, led the walk. They say they're hoping the vigil brings more attention to her case and that it encourages Perry to talk to detectives."

Arrest made in case of missing Florida woman

ELMIRA, N.Y. -- State Police have arrested an Elmira man in connection with the disappearance of his girlfriend in Florida.

David Perry, 46, was arrested Thursday night. Police have been looking for him since March, when his girlfriend, Kelly Rothwell, 35, disappeared. Authorities say Perry refused to cooperate in the search for the woman.

HORSEHEADS - State police in Horseheads on Thursday night charged David R. Perry of Elmira with insurance fraud and grand larceny.

Troopers escorted him into the Horseheads barracks at about 10:50 p.m. Thursday.

Perry was arrested on an arrest warrant issued by the Union Tower Court, Broome County following a traffic stop on Interstate 86 in the town of Amity, Allegany County.

Perry is accused of fabricating an injury in 2003 while he was a correctional officer at a correctional facility in Elmira, N.Y., allowing him to obtain a disability retirement, according to New York state police.

Indian Rocks Beach, Florida- He is perhaps the one person who knows both Kelly Rothwell and Dave Perry's son fears Kelly Rothwell won't be found alive. Perry's 21-year old son, Dave Perry, Jr. says his father and longtime girlfriend Kelly had what seemed to be the perfect relationship.

The search for a missing Bay area police cadet is getting help from a national team.
The Cue Center for Missing Persons brought in search dogs and have been looking for Kelly Rothwell, 35, this weekend.

"Since Wednesday officials with the North Carolina-based Cue Center for Missing Persons have been in the area searching for any shred of evidence as to the whereabouts of the 35-year-old former police cadet.

On Sunday, cadaver dogs checked a pond behind a Wal-mart in Largo with no luck."

Indian Rocks Beach in the Spotlight After Kelly Rothwell's Disappearance

"Perry refused to cooperate with local authorities, but detectives say the investigation into Rothwell’s disappearance remains active.

“It (Perry’s arrest) did put the spotlight back on the (Rothwell) case, which is a good thing, because we like people to know that we are still looking for her,” said Sgt. Tom Nestor of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office."

Missing cadet's friend: Perry's son's interview insincere

As they continued searching for missing police cadet Kelly Rothwell on Saturday, her friends couldn't forget the words of her ex-boyfriend David Perry's son.

"I didn't feel as if it was sincere," said Donna Scharrett, Rothwell's best friend.
