Florida authorities seek assistance locating missing Huntington woman, police say​

Authorities are seeking assistance after a woman from Huntington was reported missing in Florida, police said.

• Laikyn Marie West, 24
• Last seen leaving her home on 12 Street West in Bradenton, Florida on Friday.
• She was carrying a backpack and getting into a white sedan.
• She has not been in contact with friends or family.
• She missed a booked flight back to Huntington, WV.
• Bradenton Police Department 941-932-9300.

* UPDATED with additional photo. * Laikyn Marie West, 24, is reported as missing and endangered. She was last seen at her home in the 1000 block of 12th St. W. on 9/13, possibly getting into a white sedan. She hasn't contacted friends/family and missed a flight on 9/16. (1/2)

Manatee County Courts shows that the charges for the linked booking for battery were dropped/abandoned (perhaps IMO from either the other person deciding against pursuing charges or no showing for testimony). The only other thing on record for her was charges of possession or drug paraphernalia in 2020. Case was sent to collections as apparently she failed to pay her fine and/or court costs.

The man did not want to press charges to begin with, but the police put the charges there. When she came in front of the magistrate(?) they sentenced her to home confinement away from the man who she fought with. She moved in with another man who was friends with both her and the man involved. When the court date came up, he dropped the charges. At some time she and he moved back in together. The records have been sealed at the man's request as he wanted to keep his identity private.

Is this man she’s with 65+ years old? Any thoughts on who may have picked her up? Assuming she left one of these people’s homes. Any idea what she was doing in Florida? This sounds more like she was living there, but other reports make it seem like she was just there briefly and missed a return flight home to West Virginia.

After looking at her Facebook, I would say she is in Florida for treatment/rehab.
