I feel like they have be open stated she had/has a drug problem etc. I am sure they shared more with LE. I think what is throwing them off is the son. They are adamant she would not put him in harms way. It is one thing to disappear but to disappear and abandon her son seems out of character as per them,

I don't believe she abandoned him on purpose, nor do I feel like she was kidnapped or trafficked or any of the the other random crazy theories, I've been reading. My opinion only...is she possibly OD'd and no one wanted to call the cops for obvious reasons, and they also had no reason to hurt the child, so they put him out where they knew someone would find him quickly. It's the ONLY thing that makes sense to me. Once again.. My opinion only.

That's a big possibility but that would pretty much assume the Kamdyn escaping from an apartment angle. Who would intentionally release a child directly into their front yard and attract police attention to the area where a crime is being committed.

This is one reason, as I mentioned previously, I strongly entertain the idea that perhaps Miramar, and even possibly Hollywood for that matter, could be a red herring, like when ARS dumped Jessica Ridgeway’s backpack. In ARS’ own words, he wanted to distract police away from the real crime scene.

Or perhaps these locations are conveniently located along a route.

Again, these ideas are relevant only if a perp is involved.

Not necessarily likely, but a possible scenario? speculation, imo.
Wondering if there were any carjackings/theft of vehicles in the Hollywood area since KC was found?
In recent times in Toronto anyway, there have been a number of carjackings including ones that have children still in the car.
The perp/s upon discovering the child, puts them out of the vehicle and often continues to take off until they ditch that one and find another one to take.
In Leila's case, maybe they did the same, but held on to LC because she is a young female.

But didn't I hear that on video cameras they saw Leila with an unknown person at Wal-mart? IF that is the case it wasn't a car jacking right?

Going down to Florida would have also cost her a lot of money. A lot of money for gas, then food for traveling (especially when you have a kid). Something HAD to have been SO important down in Florida to travel so far and spend SO MUCH money. If she WAS going down to Florida to sell something to make money then it would defeat the purpose by all the money it cost her to travel down there to begin with if that makes sense.

So I am leaning (like many of you) maybe she was going to meet someone for a date possibly? I really don't see her going for drugs. But that is MY opinion. Many people will do MANY things to meet someone online for a date.

Heck I met my husband (who I am married to now) online and NO ONE knew I was meeting him about a hour away (of course that is different than HOURS away) in a location that NO ONE knew about. I was very secretive about my life and didn't tell family many things. Seems like Leila is that way too.

I know at one time I also didn't have anywhere to go. I argued with my parents and ended up leaving home. I met a guy (who honestly was a stranger) and moved in with him. I know a lot of people who have done this. Wonder if she THOUGHT she met someone great and that they would be able to be a family and all so to speak and she had planned to maybe date and possibly move in with him so to speak. Maybe it was one of those deals where he had an apartment for rent (that was a GOOD deal) or something and he coaxed her into coming to Florida ?

Unfortunately for her it most likely turned out sour. He was NOT who she expected when she got to Florida.

Also re: costing a lot of money to go there. What if whomever she was meeting paid for her expenses...maybe in advance. It would be good to know whether LE can determine if she was sent money from Florida if possible, though a perp would make sure it wasn't traceable.

Maybe Leila was communicating with somebody for a while, and who invited her down, with her son. These romantic scams can be very tricky, maybe a sort of grooming was taking place for a while.

I can't help feel that Leila was manipulated to trust someone, and was offered promises she believed. This does happen and many women fall for this.....most often in relation to giving away money (which wouldn't be the case here) but also for nefarious purposes.

I am wondering too. She could have trusted a man MORE if he also had a woman (partner) with him.

I also wondered this at first because K was left somewhere (even though God knows what could’ve happened, could’ve wandered into the street, etc.), so I thought “maybe a female is involved”; however, we know all too well that “being a female” doesn’t cut it around here. “Cupcake”...

Didn't think about that. Maybe the guy took LC in one direction (when he kidnapped her). The woman (his partner) went a different direction (away from the possibly crime scene) and dropped off K..

I've been keeping up with this story, and there's something just not on the level. I think it's important to be supportive of her family but they have to be honest, if they want to find her. I feel it's imperative to this case to be as honest as possible, even if it's unpleasant.

At this point, I really feel that Leila travelled down to FL for financial reasons, i.e. there would be a financial incentive for her to do so. Whether this incentive was legal or illegal, I’m not sure. All I know is that most mothers I know will do pretty much anything to provide for their children and from what I have read about Leila, she is no different and seems to adore her little boy.

Perhaps she was offered a good sum of money to travel to FL to drop something off or pick something up? Maybe Leila was chosen to do this as she was seen as a low risk “middle man”, a mother and child wouldn’t appear suspicious or draw attention to themselves. Then again, she has a suspended license and may have been pulled over for this, which messes up that theory.

Whether business or romantic, I strongly feel as though the person she planned to meet there turned out to be shady. I don’t think she knew this, or she wouldn’t have taken Kamdyn with her and put him at risk.

Either the perp couldn’t bring themself to harm a child, or perhaps Leila knew harm was going to come to them, so she left Kamdyn somewhere in the hope that he would be found. Still a risk, but with a possible good outcome if found by the right people, which did end up being the case.

I don't think this was ever stated. There was unconfirmed sighting of her there.

Great post. I have been following along quietly, and this is pretty much how I feel as well. I am very worried for her. I do not at all believe she is safe.

This is my theory. She met someone who offered her support she didn't currently have. Possibly a promise of housing, money, stability. Just speculating, but it appears she didn't really have a lot of support. Covid has only exacerbated difficulties for people struggling to get by. She could have been talking online to someone for awhile, he offered a "new life" for her and Kamdyn and she took it because it seemed like all her struggles were about to be solved. I think initially he acted normal to keep her guard down and then something went wrong. Either he hurt her himself or she has been trafficked. All jmo. It appears, even from sources saying she had troubles, that she put that little boy first. I hope they are reunited.

This is exactly the direction in which I’m leaning, IF I had to guess on a theory.

Always be ready for a twist though. That’s one thing I’ve learned here, you never really know how a case may unfold...

There are certainly many possibilities, as are being discussed here. But the above is my top theory atm, if I were to have one.
