I actually knew this girl whose mother was a teacher. She would teach in schools like detention centers and stuff. She also would take kids into her home for the summer to rehabilitate them. One group that she had, was the kid who killed the people in Ocala National Forest. He was only about 13 at the time that she had him in her home. She said that he scared her several times. She eventually had to dismiss him early due to the fact that he tried to burn her house down! Oh yeah, and he would threaten her life...

Oh my Lord:eek:

SHARPES FERRY – Marion County sheriff’s officials confirmed Monday that the torso found in the Ocklawaha River on Sunday afternoon is human.
Sheriff’s Office crews arrived at the Sharpes Ferry bridge at daybreak Monday to search for other evidence near where the body=2 0was found. The sheriff’s Field Force Team searched the banks of the river while divers felt their way through the muddy water.
“We want to cover all the area between Sharpes Ferry and State Road 40,” said Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jimmy Pogue. “The search is more difficult because of all the recent rain we’ve had. The banks of the river have been extended by 20 feet.”
Pogue said the Sheriff’s Office was called by a boater who found the torso about 300 yards north of the Sharpes Ferry bridge Sunday at about 2:30 p.m. The torso was taken to the Marion County Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy is being performed today. Pogue said it was too early to tell any details about the body.
In the meantime, the sheriff’s officials set up shop on the bridge to organize a full search for any additional evidence.
“We have two boats in the water, plus our 12-member field force team, and we have the helicopter out with spotters in it,” Pogue said. “We want as many eyes on the area as possible.”
Divers in the river had to rely more on their sense of touch than sight as they combed through the black water on Monday.

“You can’t see a thing,” said Sheriff’s Office diver Aaron Levy. “Everything is completely black. It’s all about feel right now.”

This is where the great-grandfather of Caylee Anthony is in a nursing home -less than hour's drive from Orlando.

We discussed this in a thread a couple of days ago. It wasn't a child. There is a thread somewhere buried here about it.

I don't think so...........I think it will be about 3-4 weeks before all the testing will be done. Sometimes as long as 6 weeks.

For a "torso" like that to be tested, they most likely would send it to U.T. Body Farm. They would go ahead and test the DNA and a few routine things, but they would be looking for the cause of death and even if it is only a torso, there is a lot to be learned .

I would also guess they are still looking for the other body parts before they release anything.

I thought so too, but I have not been able to find anything about it being an adult. I wonder now if someone just posted that it was an adult.

yup, these are definitely adult remains - and they seem to be thinking adult male - there are tattoos on the back.

Sometimes teenagers get tattoos so we can't rule them out either. Dismemberment is very serious; i hope they catch the sicko that killed the victim. Hopefully the tattoos can help us identify the victim.
I am wondering what age ranges "young adult" is considered?

From September 2013:

Veronica Hamilton remembers key dates from five years ago. Some of those dates, though joyful, carry painful memories. Her wedding anniversary is Sept. 1, a day normally reserved for a happy occasion. Instead, that day, she said, was the last anyone ever saw or heard from her son Everett Laverne “Peanut” Jackson, father of three.

Four days later, the family reported him missing. Then, on Sept. 14, 2008, her mother’s birthday, two people found a human torso in the Ocklawaha River near the Sharpes Ferry bridge...

An Ocala police officer found Jackson’s truck behind a grocery store the morning of Sept. 5...

Inspector Mike Mongeluzzo, lead investigator of the case for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, said some leads have come in, and when they do, he has tracked them down. So far, those leads have not turned up anything.

A 52-year-old man has been arrested in the death of a man whose torso was discovered in 2008 floating in the Ocklawaha River.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit arrested John Kelliher charged him with second degree murder for the September 2008 homicide of Everett “Peanut” Jackson. The Cold Case Unit recently received new information about Kelliher’s involvement in Jackson’s death. Cold Case detectives were planning to arrest Kelliher this week for Jackson’s murder but ironically, Kelliher was arrested on Tuesday by the Ocala Police Department on a separate case. MCSO Cold Case Unit detectives officially arrested Kelliher for Jackson’s death on Wednesday afternoon.
