Gross. The knife and scissors weren't much better. But the worst for me was what was stuck in his teeth.

Should be very interesting if it goes to trial.

RIP John & Michelle

Mental Health issues dont just conspire during a night theyre not like a quick 'thought and actioned on' scenario.
The School/college said he was a great candidate for the football team. And he clearly works out by his physique.
Where were his mentors or tutors in the run up to this psychotic episode?
I became reclusive. Unwilling to do anything. I wouldnt go anywhere. Meals were brought to me. Id have to battle anxiety to get out of my room to shower. But i had to. My mind was fighting itself. All this time i was introduced to many different people to try help me. I refused everything. Till i met Annie. She had been where i was.... i owe my life to her.

Anyways wheres the breakdown in AH' s timeline?
He was very proud of what he'd done. Almost self praising for his perversions on his victims. Especially the Man. Very descriptive very gruesome.
Anyone would think he was on the set of The Walking Dead.

Its amazing what 72 hours can do huh? Holes are filling in.

I agree the friends pulling up to a huge cop scene and asking if Austin had something to do with this is mighty compelling info.

I picture sister and mom wanting a Baker Act, and dad prohibited it. The old "my son isnt mentally ill - he just needs to get his act together" type thing. Which shocks in terms of education level.

Then that night happens, and then dad goes to Dr Phil. I am speculating but I kind of think dad was "getting it" from his ex wife, and daughter a la "we told you", "none of this would have happened" etc.

Speculating.

I had no clue Dr Phil had become today's Jerry Springer show, but in a way I think Dad wanted a therapist because, not only did his son what he did, but he is feeling agonizing guilt over not listening to others in the family feeling as if he needed to be Baker acted.

Dad struck me as somewhat Patricharical, the definate king of the castle etc as far as family system goes (if dad says so....)

We dont really know how long dad had been with Dr Phil before what aired, but his overwhelming (authentic IMO) tears I think fits into more of the angle of guilt, I did not listen to anyone (regarding Baker Act).

All speculation .

I tried to find the entire dump of info in one place - I think there is so much in there that is IMO opinion going to clearly indicate that a an awful lot "stuff " had been going on way longer than a "couple" of weeks. moo

Overall, however it does become angering and completely bewildering in light of socio-economic and education level of family system.

For his generation "mental illness" is far less a secret, his friends not intervening is bothersome as well. All they had to do was call 911- if he escalated when his friends said dude can we take you for an evaluation - call 911, don't tell him, and when the cops show up all of a sudden he would have escalated and LE would have clearly seen he needed to be Baker Acted.

Baker acting in and of itself is never a nice calm deal - that the whole purpose! Too sick to have capacity one needs to be in a safe setting.

After practicing a few years I got skilled at reducing that intense initial resistance to going to hospital, be repeatedly letting them know this is not punishment for you being "bad" or "crazy" but a place to be safe couple of days.

They are petrified and overwhelmed (his writings indicate such) and quietly , if intoduced slowly and calmly the notion of being somewhere safe is actually a deep "sigh"

But according to what we know so far, this would have been his first time inpt - so that would have made the prospect a bit more intimadating - but in an ironic fashion, his response to police showing up would have so escalted him that it would be so clear to LE that he met criteria for a Baker Act and transported him to a safe place for 72 hours.

During that time tho the moreimporatnat angle is family members getting "told" by a professional - that there are serious issues here, is educating the family.

They had resources - this could have had such a different trajectory solely cause they had resources.

As tiny things come out, I think it was Dad , not a lawyer in the early days that insisted that his daughter and ex wife go silent.

Family secret.

If we go early on, there was a lot of contradictory information from the mom and dad initially.

We were all surprised at dads notions of bring him back to Duffy's (not reported initially) that sounds like IMO like dad let me talk some sense into him, after Wesson oil eating.

All mo

Regarding the videos, IIRC it was suggested some of them were shot in a garage. Hearing that his bed was in the garage it makes sense the videos were shot there. (I'm not sure they were but it looked possible.)

Question--at which house was his bed in the garage (mother or father)?

If dad still running the show and telling mom what to do post divorce, she should grow a brain and tell him off! If he were my son and I was very concerned about his mental health and emotional well-being, I would have taken him to the doc, and told dad to shutup and stay out of it.

I don't know if that was the case but the story said several "family members"
There is dad mom sister so................

The sister was recording him , so I would think she would def be thinking he needed help

mom called authorities that night and actually used the term delusional on the call.

Its says thousands of pages of stuff released to public.

Where would you look to get the whole release??

Possibly county court records? I think it might even be a good idea to CALL the county clerk. If she doesn't have the info, she could point you in the right direction. Or, his lawyer!

Most of the documents to a case would be under file. Between docs, specialist's, Specific health workers. Mom and Dad would also have a copy of what was passed between medical sources. Then again nothing makes sense of anything on this case. Ive missed the involvement of Dr Phil etc. Now im scratching my head as to thinking WTF.
This just isn't what I first read it to be...
I am totally lost. Gonna go read up what been posted up there... --^

From what I understand, both parents had new partners. The father's gf, shared on the DrP Show, that she had a brief talk with AH after the father went for a walk with him that day. I imagine the mother's bf had some opinion of AH's behavior as well. Yet, it appears no one insisted he be evaluated, but we don't know that for sure. His friends that arrived at the crime scene don't really sound surprised it was AH.

I wonder if anyone suggested he see a doctor even for just the insomnia he was suffering and struggling with. Did he refuse or block all attempts to help him? Was he against taking all drugs including antidepressants?

Some of his journal entries are dated back in 2013. His printing changes from neat to messy, and big to small. Sometimes I can't tell if he is repeating advice and stuff someone else told him. There's one with a pic of four people, and I wonder when that was and why one has no face. He mentions people thinking he's crazy. Then, he starts mentioning Gandhi, Jesus, and MLK and I think those are the more recent entries and the subject matter sounds like what his father mentioned on DrP.

MOO, his family and friends were just not equipped to set him on the right path through some shape up and act right advice. It was beyond any sharing of wisdom intimate talks. When did the demons move into the house? Only a couple of weeks ago?

(BTW, and JMO, Dr. Phil has riled up a lot of people with what some feel is exploitation of Shelly Duvall's mental condition being aired on tv. He'll use anything to get people to watch his show.)

I saw the episode with Shelly, and I didn't feel like he exploited her, or made a mockery out of her. What he did show, was how tragic mental illness is, and how nobody is safe from its clutches. He got her into a tx center, and hopefully she will improve and be able to live a more normal life. I normally don't watch his show, but my husband wanted to see it. I observed a very tragically I'll woman, screaming for help in her own way.
I did not see the episode with AH's dad, and if anyone was made a mockery of, from what I understand, AH's dad possibly did that to himself. Anything that can be done for Austin, however, is too little, too late.
I can only imagine how theStevens'family feels. I know if somebody connected to Austin had got the advice of a doctor months earlier, probably this whole tragedy could have been prevented.

I can see how it looks like he's bringing awareness and wants to help, but... Just do a search of DrP's exploitation of Shelly Duvall and you'll see what I mean that not everyone respects his tactics. The only reason I'm bringing it up is because DrP also rushed to get AH's father and even AH on his show before the tox results were back or anything could be substantiated. He sure provided AH's father with an audience to get some sympathy going for his son and slant things towards the mental insanity defense. Many people feel Dr. Phil is bringing up awareness of mental illness for the wrong reasons -- to get ratings and for lurid entertainment. IMO, Shelly is not a zoo animal.

I don't care much for him, but at least he seemed to be trying to get Shelly pointed in the right direction. As far as AH's dad, like I said, I didn't watch it, so I don't know what exactly was done behind the scenes. I DO get the impression from what dad did on the show was a bunch of baloney. Nothing but moma drama! All these ridiculous talk shows thrive on moma drama, and make me gag.

The report of no drugs leaves me wondering where the superhuman strength came from.

ETA: By the time the pics were taken, AH he had been Tased, kicked in the head multiple times, attacked by a K-9, etc. (if my memory is correct).
They can't test for every drug available. Google Phenazepam.
My son's friend got it over the Internet from Russia. The US has no test for it.
Sadly he is deceased now.
*just to back up my claim, there is no telling what he could have taken, teens are finding more and more illegal drugs via the Internet overseas.

2.
Pages 1-108 seem imo to be his assignments for a class. An art class? College or high school? I'm not sure about his age at the dates on writings. Anyone?

Cannibal frat boy' Austin Harrouff researched psychic powers, schizophrenia and how he could 'sell his soul to the devil' before he 'murdered a Florida couple and ate the husband's face

earches include 'I think i'm going crazy am i?', 'marijuana withdrawal', 'hearing things in my sleep' and 'how to sell your soul to the devil' insanity,

searched the internet for schizophrenia, hallucinations, and Satan, 'signs of steroids'. 'positive hypnosis', 'how to sell your soul to the devil', 'obsessive thoughts about examining life' and other subjects ranging from the creation of the world to the Illuminati.

Harrouff's searches then moved on to the pineal grand - a part of the brain that some philosophers believe have metaphysical qualities ....

schizophrenia, stress management and ways to 'relax my mind'. The college student also read an article about 'going crazy'

Here are his internet searches

I got the link from CARIIS on post # 856, so the thanks should go to her. But thank you for thanking me too.

al66pine, glad you took a look at his journal. I do think those pages 111-113 might be lyrics for or from a song. That section was harder for me to make out all the words though. Red dress made me think song.

He's 19 now, so I think the art class entries were when he was 16 yrs. old. He planned out in writing what he was going to draw which I wonder if he was told to do for the class. Usually, I just dive in and start drawing. He planned light eyebrows and a relaxed look or calm face. He seemed more grounded then.

Did you see the four people, one with no face on page 115? I didn't know if that signified people of the world, or his family, or him and some friends.

I found the journal helpful in understanding how it's possible this young man became unhinged.

Just my own thoughts and opinions.
