Also, this photo was analyzed by the FBI and the Scotland Yard. Apparently, both organizations thought it was real (and one did conclude it was likely Tara).

Actually only Scotland Yards said it was her. LANL said it wasn't and the FBI said it was inconclusive. The investigators on the case didn't really support her mothers claims and now don't view it as being attached to the Calico case at all.

Unfortunately, I think the photograph is real. I pray that I'm wrong. I see the plastic cup and book mentioned but can someone point out the water gun? I cannot find it in the picture.

Well there isn't really much more to say about the pic except for rather you think it is a hoax or if it is real (and neither claim could be right or wrong because there is no way to know either way at this point).

How many various threads have there been covering this photo though? This one goes back to about 2009 and when I was heavy into checking in on updates for it I think I read that this wasn't the first one.

I'm baffled at some of the comments here.

First of all, the looks on their faces. Sure, people can pretend. But those of you saying they don't look scared or like they're in a bad situation...are you looking at the same photo I am? They look scared. She looks tired, like she has just given up fighting or something.

As for the "lack of bruises"? Why does everyone assume that anyone kidnapped and held captive will have bruises? They're not always beaten.

"They look clean"...again, being held against your will doesn't always mean they'll never wash you or let you wash. Same with her "unshaven legs". 1) They may allow her to shave, force her to shave, or shave her. 2) She could have light hair on her legs that makes them appear to look shaved. I have very dark hair like hers and my leg hair is dark. However my best friend is half Native American with jet black hair and dark skin and her leg hair can get pretty long and you can't even tell except for in direct sunlight, it's so light.

I'm sure there are other things I could bring up, but those are the main things I wanted to address. Of course, it very well COULD be fake but some of the reasoning I'm seeing literally isn't reasoning at all.

I see the resemblance...
Where did this photo come from? I found this article that talks about LE getting a photo of a boy with his mouth covered in marker. Is this the photo? http://www.foxnews.com/story/2009/0...-mystery-apparent-child-abduction-photos.html

Has anyone ever seen the documentary on Netflix (there ar the moment) called Who Took Johnny? When I saw the pics of the kids that were bound it reminded me of this case.

I did! Even though I feel this photo was fake, it did remind me of that, too!

Could the girl be Cheryl Ann Commesso (about 20 and an exotic dancer in Florida), who vanished in April 1989 and was later found to be killed by Franklin Delano Floyd. He lived in Florida back then. It's a very long shot I know. Cheryl was beaten and shot. I can only find one pic of her. I'm having trouble posting pics, so can't do it now.

wow that's a thought the other pics of Cheryl were polaroid also!

The ones found taped to the engine of the stolen truck. I didn't know they were polaroids. Floyd was into abducting children. Maybe he anticipated Susan plus baby leaving and wanted a "new" kid. If indeed this pic is by Floyd. As to Cheryl, I don't know when he took her and how long after that the beating and killing started.

I had not considered an FDF connection before. But I don't think the bound girl is Cheryl.

Don't think so. Either something adhering to her or she is placed on it. Honestly I think she is not wearing shorts or underwear.

Ps
The girl has a cauliflower ear!

Looks like this thread got going again. Definitely not the same girl though in regards to the image a few posts above. Much older than the girl in the original image. The girl in the original image is probably early teens while this one was old enough to be working as a stripper.

I still feel the original image is a fake and was just a group of kids messing around with a camera in their basement. Since there is no way to prove it either way though the debate about the authenticity of the image will continue to go on and on forever. I think the only reason why the story of this image blew up the way it did was because it got attached to other missing persons cases.

What I personally find most interesting about the story of this photo is that virtually everything we think we know about it is only assumed. We really don't have any idea if the photo had anything to do with the van from the story. It could have very easily been dropped by someone long before the van ever got there but the person that finally picked it up last saw a van parked in the area where it was located at so just assumed the van had something to do with it.

For all we know this whole thing could have very easily been a prank created by the person that said they found the photo.

All true, yet can't shake the feeling this is for real. Whether that van had anything to do with it.

Ps

Did they ever lift fingerprints from the polaroid??

I always thought the photo was real. Something in that little boys eyes...

I have zero belief that the girl is Tara Calico. Eyebrows are 100 percent incorrect. Yes they can grow out, but they don't change their shape. Jmo.

I hate that Polaroid. Always upsets me deep down inside
