Their eyes are strikingly similar, but their noses are quite different. Also the width between the eyes and eyebrows are different. Definitely a possibility though. It's so hard to tell from just a couple photos.

ITA... the noses are different. The Betz boy's nose is definitely wider than the unknown boy in the picture.

Okay, I know this is nuts, but I think these two look alike. I have always thought that they both look just like a friend of mine from highschool. Look at the pictures of the blonde without make-up. Imagine her hair being darker.

OMG, I completely missed this. How incredibly creepy! I knew about the pic of the boy and girl but I had not heard of the photo sent back in August. It certainly looks like the same boy in both pictures.

I agree with the general consensus the FBI are complete boneheads for eliminating Tara based on shaved legs.......if she were being used for the sex trade you don't think they would shave her? Hello.

The other 2 polaroids found were never released to the public, correct?

This girl looks younger than the estimated age to me and also taller. I don't know but, she looks no more than 14/15 to me and her long looking legs make me think she's taller than 5'. She looks to me to be at least 5'3" maybe 5'4"? Both children also look quite tan to me. Like maybe they were from a place with lots of sun, or hung out on a beach.

Here are three other girls I think might fit the description as given by LE though, I am mainly looking at this young girls eyebrows. Her right one is almost perfectly straight all the way across the eye to the outside corner before there is any curve and the noses are similar.

Your right about the hair. Her pic was taken in March, just before she went missing. The picture was found too soon after for her hair to have grown that much.

Someone had mentioned that the children looked too tanned, but the photo was found in Florida and they could have been there a while. JMO

Yes, she, Brenda, has a lot of eye makeup on in the picture. I really wish the loved ones of these folks would put out MORE pictures. Especially if they have some of them say, not exactly smiling. Or side views. Or in the case of the little ones that have gone missing, pictures of the parents themselves. Look how much Jaycee ended up looking more like her mother than the aged composite! It would help everyone I think. JMO

It's not electrical tape, that's thinner and would not leave the shine that's apparent. It almost looks like its some sort of cellophane based tape???? Like packing tape, but black? I can tell you it's nothing I've ever seen in my 56 years. Anybody have an idea? Just an observation...

In fact, that tape is sooo shiny you can almost see a reflection of the photographer.

I was just thinking the exact same thing yesterday. Funny you brought it up. The tape does look unique. I wonder if LE ever looked into it. Could be a lead. The use of tape may be what convicts Casey Anthony.

Do you think LE is still looking into this case? It has become almost like an urban legend or something like that.

Looks like gaffer's tape to me. Not sure if they had the shiny style 20 years ago, but I suspect they did, and it comes in different widths (2") being common. Used in photography a lot.

I found this info on Gaffers tape:

I guess it's not gaffers tape, because the tape in that photo is definitely reflecting light.

Many times what gaffers tape is traditionally referred to is in taping down electrical lines during shows/productions/filming etc so as to be un-noticable as possible. However there is also a 'shiny' version of gaffers tape used in actually photography to reflect light. Maybe it is that sort? I will try to find you a link. The auto racing tape also an interesting idea. Let's see what was going on in Daytona then...

Agree completely about the book, placement etc. IMHO, that is both the key to whether or not it is a staged photo or a real abduction. Also the clue to the intent (depending upon which it is.)
Staged photo= teen angst. Real abduction = scary. VC Andrews wrote pretty much only about sex within families and/or sexually, physically, and emotionally abusive situations within families. Usually where 'no one talks' because they fear the repercussions.

When I blow that picture up, it looks to me like they are laying on a fold-out hide-a-bed couch. Rusty brown, possibly with a southwest motif. It appears there is pillow with some sort of animal design on it behind them, like a tiger. The reflection in the mouth tape appears to be an overhead light fixture and the camera flash. I wonder what that thing is that looks like a paint roller pan? Any ideas? Not that this probably matters much.
