"JSO said that their investigation led them to believe Gold walked over to Roadarte’s car in the Bonefish Grill parking lot on Wednesday evening.

JSO Lieutenant Steve Gallaher told First Coast News that Gold got into Roadarte’s car and a fight ensued.

Roadarte eventually exited his car and reportedly took an object from Gold’s vehicle and punctured one of her tires.

Police said that surveillance video shows that Gold did not exit the suspect’s vehicle after the fight and, during a later interview, the suspect confessed to killing the 21-year-old inside the car."

As many of us sadly expected :(

Also, a manager at the restaurant where she worked.

Gold’s coworker at Bonefish Grill, manager Lee Rodarte, 28, became a suspect after discrepancies were found in his story, JSO said.

Rodarte was booked on charges of murder and tampering with evidence.

Police say that Gold pulled into the parking lot about 25 minutes after Rodarte, around 5:30 p.m. She then walked over to his car before getting in, police said.

"On video it appeared a struggle took place in the car and the car was shaking and the door was opening and closing. Rodarte exits the car after a few minutes walks over to her car, takes an object out of it and puts it in his. He then returns to her car and appears to puncture the front left front tire of her vehicle. He returned to his vehicle and after a few minutes he drove away and Savannah never exited the car," said Lt. Steve Gallaher with Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Interesting comments on the Action News Jax Facebook page.

I put the red pin where Savannah was found and it is incredibly close to where Ebony (thread posted previous page) was last seen. FWIW.

How incredibly sad for Savannah's family, especially with her mom's diagnosis of stage 4 cancer.

My heart completely sank when I came onto the thread.

Snipping pictures for space. This is so heartbreaking. I'm thankful, however, that they had the attack on video and got the killer to confess. Makes me wonder how often this same thing has happened in other cases where there was no video and no signs of a struggle, just a missing person's car left behind.

RIP Savannah :rose:

Good factual summary, alexwood.

Very familiar with that restaurant and area. The shopping center Bonefish Grill is located in has a lot of vacant storefronts. Due to the location next to I-295, it is often used for Craigslist and other similar transactions. I've made a quite a few transactions there myself - even though many of the stores are vacant, the parking area is pretty busy, especially at the time of day her shift was starting. The last transaction I did was with a person I knew, and as we sat in the lot talking, we saw at least three other exchanges of some type happen within a thirty-minute timespan, around five in the afternoon. San Jose Boulevard, in front of the shopping center, is very busy almost anytime of the day, and stop and go at that time.

While we don't know yet what the cameras will show, I believe someone had to see something. They may not have realized the importance of what they saw. All of the local media has shared the story, but we need to encourage people to report anything they may have seen that day.

Someone should post Savannah's missing poster in the most used Craigslist categories and ask anyone who did transactions that day in that parking lot for info.

Editing to say, I posted this before reading she had been found deceased, so it doesn't appear to be necessary now [emoji53]
