I remember reading it as a post, too. It was immediately following the announcement of finding the body at the dump. People were trying to find out the scheduled pick up days for the neighborhood. That's when the neighbor lady made her comments.

Are we talking about the neighbor lady who said she told them to check the dumpsters or something to that effect, and that she should have climbed in it and checked it herself?

If so, I read it, but for the life of me I don't remember which news outlet reported it. It was a written article and I believe there was video but she was not identified on camera, you just heard her voice IIRC.

While his pain is fresh, Thompson tells First Coast News Reporter Monica Landeros that God has given him strength to forgive whoever is responsible for his daughter's death.

"To my daughter Somer in heaven: Sweetheart, I love you and I will see you soon," Sam Thompson tearfully said as he looked up towards the sky.

Thompson said the pain is almost too much to bear, but an outpouring of community support has helped him cope.

"If it hadn't been for everybody around me, holding on to me, I believe my heart would have just stopped," said Thompson.

I think the killer put no effort into her disposal, out of sight, out of mind. Let the d*mn city take care of it.

It was so fortuitous it unravelled like it did Tartabull, you are right. I think something like this happened to Haleigh and it was just too late to find her body in the local dump by the time they thought of getting out there!

At least there are forward thinkers on this LE team and I do believe they are coming for him/them. The sooner the better, as the community is on edge with a child killer loose on the streets of Orange Park. xox

Your second paragraph says alot to me.....Have you all been following this new case, thought about the why's and how's that LE had the forsight to check the Landfill where neighborhood garbage was dumped RIGHT AWAY!!!! and of course, as we all know, it was SUCCESSFUL! They found little Somer's body.

But WHY? did LE check the landfill just days later? When Caylee was reported missing, I don't think LE EVER checked the Landfill, when Nat. Holloway came up missing, they checked the landfill like 4-6 months later? right? With Haliegh C, I'm not sure any landfill has ever been checked.......

Just wondering....and now that the precious baby girl has been laid to rest, might LE become a little more "harsh" in their investigation starting today?????????? Wondering.....

Hi Tartabull,

We know the WHEN to within about a half hour, a very short window in which she disappeared acc to the TH's on HLN.

We know WHERE she was last seen, by the burned out house acc to a 6 yr old who saw her there, running I think with a frown on her face.

We know the WHY, sexual gratification as seen by statistics in the way she was disposed, bare legs sticking out and dressed on top.


It is not specific and detailed to perfection yet. But one week into the case I think we really have so much more than we normally do.

The WHO could be anyone at this point who seized an opportunity IMO.

The story of Somer's "dissappearance" is so convoluted. A half-hour at best you say. Good lord, these kids were walking home from school. the entire trek took less than 1/2 an hour.......WHY can we not get a straight, matter of fact story regarding Somer's "sudden" vanishing???????????

Well, she was thrown away like a pedo would traditionally do, quick-like and without any forethought as to disposal. Let the city dispose of her and let the chips fall where they come to rest. There was no careful hiding of the body so it would never be found like would happen in a familial/friend death.
That would lead me to believe she was grabbed to satisfy someone's immediate sexual fantasy.

Excusse me, but Caylee A's body was "thrown away like trash", triple wrapped in garbage bags and dumped litterally feet away from the roadside curb.....so.....no careful hiding of her body!!!!!!! Just KC A's DUMB LUCK that the area flooded shortly thereafter, hiding Caylee's body even further..........

Mom said Somer always came home and she raised her that way.
Babysitter claims NO that is not true-- Somer had a habit of not coming home- hence the MOM giving friends names and numbers.

But on the "not getting interview", mom actually mentioned "not like the other times". So right there she admitted it happened more than once.

This poster mentioned Mom saying "I never expected all of this". On a similar note, didn't it bother anyone else that when she was "thanking" peeps, one of the FIRST things she said she was grateful for, was the "donations". Just saying....maybe mom is completly a victim like her daughter, but given her bizzarre (to me) demeanor.....to note gratitude for financial donations just a day after her baby girls body was found is STRANGE in my book...........LOTS about Somer's Mom is STRANGE. And where is Somer's father? did she have a step-father? so many questions.............Sorry to sound like a hard *advertiser censored*, but what kind of web sleuther would I be if I trusted at face value, the convoluted story of a woman who sobbed and wailed at extremly high volumes without the benefit of tears....? what kind of sleuther would that make me?

Some of my thoughts in trying to make sense of the talk about a serial child murderer. Let's assume a few of the following are true:

..The detective who suggested the garbage trucks and dumps be searched probably worked on other missing child cases in and around Florida.

..Something about the 'mo' of this crime reminded him of another/other cases he had been involved with. Maybe it was the setting, time of day, the swiftness in which the crime was carried out, and/or the similar looks of little Somer that prompted him to suggest a search of the garbage trucks - perhaps a search that he wished had been carried out on other cases.

..Similarities between child murders occurring in different areas would certainly bring to mind a serial murderer or a copy cat.

..An hour away little Haleigh was taken from her home and has never been found. I'm sure there are several cases that come to mind when discussing a serial murderer in Florida.

If the above should be true I have to wonder where this perp's home base is! How does he pick out the next area for an abduction; is there a geographical pattern? How does he get to know the routine of the children he takes? Just some questions, along with my opinions and thoughts.

Let's hope for some information that brings justice to beautiful Somer! See you all later!

Maybe I just have an over-exaggerated imagination, but didn't we hear on day one or two, that a "hispanic" woman in a car was noted nearby......this, combined with the fact that Somer looks JUST LIKE an older Caylee A, makes me think a conspiracy was in place to frame the non-existant ZFG. Just saying....Anyone else see where I coming from????????????

These two can never be viewed as child advocates for missing/murdered children for they have never screamed for JUSTICE FOR CAYLEE, everyone else does but not the grandparents...IMO Seems to me, they just want to reap the rewards/benefits without the legwork...
