Noway, I did notice that drainage ditch is fenced where hit hits Gano. I dont know if it is fenced all the way. You can see it on a google driveby.

We looked at Google street view on Grove Park and it looks like the fence ends.

I asked a Orange Park resident about the fence but she did not know.

If any residents would like to check that out for us ... we wondered whether the place on Grove Park, where the drainage ditch comes out has an entrance (gate or opening).

Thankyou for that. Guess there is so much we don't really know, lots of speculation until we are given more of the facts.
I find it deplorable that the parents have not even been given hardly any info. on their daughter, if they wanted to know that is. It is, after all their child, they do have the right as far as i'm concerned above any one else,to know some of the facts surrounding their daughters death. I don't know, if L.E. think they have the right person, why all the secrecy?, especially as far as Somer's parents are concerned. Maybe they could demand to know if they wanted to.

I don't think we know yet if the Thompson family has been told anything since he was named POI.
IMO they may have been.

James Vinson said he never worked there. Later, his sister, Alisa Barrs said he had worked there months ago but found other work.

The Vinsons have a lawsuit pending. In that document, it says that GCV worked at the Thompson home. (or so it seems)

There are other entries as well that imply that VD&B and/or GVC worked on the Thompson home.

Interesting, thanks! I had wondered in here about that early on, whether that company worked on her home. The google maps image of the Thompson home showed a construction or roofing sign out front, so perhaps there had been overlapping workers with the Gano house? Not that JH worked on any of those places that we know of, though he was in construction apparently.

He may have been a construction helper on the burned out house on Gano. I don't think we know that he was.

But, earlier in the case while talking about if Kyle was a minor or not, we talked about how some construction companies hire additional help (under the table) to get cheap labor. Young guys or guys that have trouble holding down a normal job could do this to get a little extra money and the construction companies get cheap labor because it's kinda like a cash thing. No taxes are taken out or the income is not reported.
Not really legal but I know it happens all the time.

So, could JH have worked on the house? I guess it's possible.

But, as far as I know, we don't have anything saying that.

I don't think it was a shortcut. I think it was a way she could spy on her siblings. If they have proof that JH is the killer, I don't think she made it out of the drainage ditch back there.

If they don't have proof he's the killer, there could be a "Jarred" somewhere on that route.

Even though Harrell has been named a person of interest in Somer Thompson's murder, McCollum says the child *advertiser censored* was a separate investigation.

His child predator cybercrimes unit investigates a large volume of child *advertiser censored* cases all the time. Their first priority is going after adults trying to lure children over the internet. His office investigates by going undercover and posing as children online.

CGV(a RSO) has one account of having worked at the house by his sister A.Barrs.and was supposedly working on the day Somer approached the workers. J.V said his brother never worked at the house? Another co-worker also affirmed he had been working on the day. If GCV never worked there that leaves 2 others, James and a helper that were there that afternoon.
GCV, and A. Barrs have had prior residence in Gtreen Cove Springs (where the Rosemary landfill is located & where garbage from O.Park is taken prior to pickup and transport by a contracted waste service to Chesser Isl. landfill in Folkston G.A.)
Also a prior listing for A. Barrs in the city of Orange Park.

I just find so much of this info. interesting, and you are right, we don't really know much at all yet. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the end! These people at the house were the only ones that i have read that last saw her alive that day. So at this stage its anyones guess i suppose. I am sure that L.E. if nothing else will keep this perp., J.H. from at least being able to do any further harm than he already has. Like they keep telling us, he is a POI at this stage in Somers case, and he is answering to his other crime right now, of child *advertiser censored* etc.

Way back when, shutterfly did a complete drawing (Google) of the entire drainage ditch with a scenario of how Somer could have used and followed it. It was terrific! I have no idea what thread it is in. moo

Now that's an interesting thought! Since he lived so close, he may have known the layout, what was being worked on, and felt comfortable in the surroundings. Good thought!

Following that drainage ditch home would not include going by the JH house, unless as NoWay suggests, she did it to hide, for some reason only known to her. With her little foray to 1080 Gano, I imagine that her sibs had passed her by .

I don't think a 7 year old would run a mile.

Perhaps he could have worked there. Asked the guys if they needed some help as he had no job. But it appears his mother procured all of his other jobs for him.

I would think that he would come off as so socially weird that they wouldn't want him on the job site, but how do I know?

Just curious - Can anyone tell me more about this "Kyle" person that a reporter talked to, who said he was he "last person to see her" outside that house? Was it in-person or on the phone? Could that have been JH? I know that's far-fetched but sometimes perps inject themselves into the case in a twisted way.

You're most likely right! Although JH did much better in construction then he did as a cook! His temper was so short as a cook, he got fired. At least those in construction said something nice about him.

Seems JH moves around a lot and, for some reason, doesn't like the same place for very long. That's the only reason I was thinking of the burnt out house. Right now, I see him as a pedophile who molests little girls and a socially awkward kind of guy who, at least for right now, is not a murderous kind of guy! I shall wait and see what tomorrow brings.

I do find it strange that in his jailhouse conversations with mom he NEVER once said he was innocent and had nothing to do with Somer's murder. Gosh, if you were innocent, wouldn't you want to tell your mom first thing? MHO

Ryan is the reporter who talked with Kyle.
