FL - Toddler raped at Sea World

I would like to know what the sequence of events was from the time the parents returned from going on the ride, until the phone was checked.

It seems to me as well that their child would have been screaming and crying when they returned. Sometimes that screaming and crying goes on and on when a child is very uncomfortable. Did the parents then take the child to the First Aid station? Did the parents try to change the child's pull-ups or diaper? Or was it only after they returned home that the parents noticed something not right?

I don't know how well the little knew the man who raped her. If I were the momma and I had any suspicions about the character of the man, I would never have left my child with him, so I am going to assume the parents thought this guy was so sweet to watch the baby so they could have a few moments together......IF IF IF that were their mindset, then even if the baby were crying, perhaps the parents believed she was just upset that they were both gone.

You bring up some very valid points and I, too, would like to know the time line of what happened. Not that it would make a difference in my thinking about the rapist or the parents, but it would add understanding.

I'd say the parents never noticed something not right, considering it only came to light because the man allegedly had the photos on his cell phone and somebody reported him.

I think jjenny's probably correct. Every article I've read says that the photos were discovered. I think either he showed them off or a family member came upon them. We can hope that he didn't permanently physically damage this little girl. One certainly does not need male genitalia to rape.

My guess is that this creep gets a real thrill out of the risk taking. In several of the books I've read about pedophiles, many admit to enjoying abusing the children literally right in front of the parents. Think of Earl Bradley. He digitally raped little girls with their parents in the room. He merely blocked the view with his body.

I absolutely cannot fault the parents here. If you've known someone for a while (through employment or as a friend) and have observed them with your child AND still feel comfortable, the vast majority of parents would trust that person for 10 minutes in public. It's not like they left her with him for the night. Even then, if he had no record, he'd be perfectly vetted to babysit. I'm assuming that the parents of the other child he abused had no earthly clue either.

I imagine that he simply leaned over the stroller, flipped open his phone and hurt her. Exactly like Blayle, the respiratory therapist who photographed himself abusing 100s of profoundly disabled children. He did it in plain sight, with other medical professionals nearby. People do not expect a man to rape a baby in public at a family amusement park. This awful man banked on that.

Thankfully, he lost. But so did the baby.

An excellent book concerning just how pedophiles operate is this one:

"Predators: Pedophiles, Rapists, and Other Sex Offenders: Who They Are, How They Operate, and How We Can Protect Ourselves and Our Children" by Anna C. Salter

There's a story in this book about a man who claims to have raped hundreds of times. His MO was to do it right in front of the parents--in homes, in cars, at the park, etc. I've never forgotten how he described just how fast he was. Ms. Salter reminds us, in this book, that this is all the pedophile thinks about. They put all their energy into planning their attacks. They are highly skilled at what they do.

Don't even get me O/T here.

I'm not even going to look at the book because on my end I have some serious pet peeves.

Tickling. Wrestling. Forcing kids to give Uncle Fred a kiss hello and goodbye. This 2011. From my own personal experience I can tell you that if you see someone and I mean anyone tickling your child to the point the kid is uncomfortable you stop it there and then. I am sorry to put an ugly face on a seemingly innocent act. My perps son who was also a pedophile did that all the time to us girls. Usually he was drunk and it was smack right in front of his wife, my mom, and other mothers. You can't even imagine wha else was getting grabbed in the tickle frenzy. Freak.

Wrestling. Your kid is getting roughed up all in good fun? Take notice. Again no doubt it is innocent, but when a full *advertiser censored*s grown man continues to pull your child by the leg and play smack down with them he's pinching and grabbing and it's all a power trip. How far can I go?

Never, ever when a child says they don't feel like kissing so and so goodbye do you make them. If poor old granny or the man up the block have hurt feelings too bad. I've stepped in more times than I can count when people have done that. I say "How about I MAKE you go kiss someone hello that you don't feel like kissing? How will that work for ya?"

Sorry. Rant. That audacity of these perverts sickens me. They tarnish everything innocent. Can't even get tickled innocently without looking crooked at someone because of these creeps.

Thanks Izzy for that. I do not blame the parents here either. How long does a ride last at Sea World? Would I have gone on the ride and left my 2 year old? No way, but only because I know just how fast that can happen thanks to three generations of pedophiles living on my block growing up.

THANK YOU FILLY !!!!

I am the biggest anti-tickling fanatic there is. I have seen the pattern that you described many times. Control freaks, often pedophiles as well, love to 'tickle' kids to the point the kids are crying and cannot breathe and/or are angry or panicking. And the people looking on are laughing. It is humiliating for the child, NOT A FUN EXPERIENCE.

I suppose anyone reading the above rant would guess that I was a victim of said abuse.
My creepy perverted uncle used to always tickle us when we were little, and to the extreme. It is not really laughter ' when you cannot catch your breath and feel like you are going to pass out.

ETA; I tickled my own kids in a very non invasive, lighthearted fashion, which is what it should be imo, not an intense experience in which the child is held down forcibly and aggressively manhandled

Katy I am so sorry for your pain.

Thankfully our kids have us to watch out for them though. You're absolutely correct. Lighthearted says it all.

Again I am sorry. Thankfully we know what to watch out for. Ohhhhhhh yessssss the other adults just don't get it? I guess they didn't otherwise at least in my case my mom would have locked and loaded and been an old lady in Muncy doing time. I guess they were talking and well who would think a freak would do that in front of parents? It's kind of like "You're seeing this and aren't saying anything so ummmmm I guess it's O.K.?" All the while getting grabbed.

No doubt this is on the same basis what happened to this poor baby girl at Sea World. Izzy's link is a good one. Plain sight at Sea World. Brazen bold creepy thing.

Tickling was forbidden in our home for exactly the same reasons. My mother's father groomed her with intense tickling games prior to his rapes of her and she was a bulldog about no tickling. I don't think my father tickled me once.

My husband is the eldest of 10 kids and is most definitely a tease. Early on, though, I made it clear that there would be no tickling. He's complied willingly as has all our boys. Funny, how I've never seen that compulsion in girls. There was never any wrestling either. Nothing where control was an goal. There are so many other ways to lovingly connect with children in a fun way.

However, you do NOT want to turn your back to my husband in the snow or when he's holding a garden hose. Me, and every child knows that fact. I've taught him how to "behave" but you can't take the eldest boy "thing" out of a man. It's just a small snowball or a quick spritz, though, always followed by "What?". I keep him in line.

The Sheriff's Office said it is waiting for Grzybowicz to be transported to the Orange County Jail on charges of sexual battery on a child younger than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 years old.
http://www.clickorlando.com/news/27001009/detail.html

He is not charged with rape, and i wish the media would quite throwing the word around so often.

It takes away from the fact that a child might not react, they won't understand the concept that molestation is wrong. Unless a parent has explained it too them.
Rape of a child is brutal - hard not to notice.

Molestation is quiet and sneaky. Parents need to keep watch for small, subtle behavior changes in their child or the person thats caring for them. Trust no-one a100%, theres not always big red flags. JMO MOO

And thank you from myself as well... My brothers would hold me down and tickle me until I wet my pants or almost passed out. And almost always in the presence of their neighborhood friends. I hated it but I don't think most parents realize how terrible it is b/c you ARE laughing, kwim? It's just awful. We have a guideline here in our house that if you tickle, you "tickle then stop". Like tickle tickle tickle - and you're done. I had to convince my husband, who was an only child, how awful it is, as he is also a big jokester and thought it was all in good spirit when he tickled our children. I mean, they're laughing, right? I think he finally understood when I would come flying out of the other room in an uproar when I would hear prolonged tickling going on...

Disneyworld is like viagra to pedos. Here are all these smiling happy little kids, no matter their preference they will find the perfect kids. Sounds like this dude couldn't control.
yup and that is why im never taking my daughter there ..

Do the federal charges indicate that the *advertiser censored* was traded across state lines or is there another obvious issue that would call for an upgrade in charges? Can just sending the photos to an email account do that? Oh, and an interesting comment from someone wondering if there might be a pending custody case and these photos were planted. Give me a break. The guy was a co-worker of the mother of the child. There's no custody issue. Just a pedophile issue.

Suspect in toddler rape at SeaWorld faces federal child-*advertiser censored* charge

"A Brevard County man accused of raping a toddler at SeaWorld Orlando in February now faces a federal child-*advertiser censored* charge.

Michael Grzybowicz was initially arrested and jailed last month on a state charge after his wife discovered photos of the rape on his cell phone and notified police...."

WOW!! The article above says his wife found it on his cell phone. I would of went ballistic on him!!

danisisa--You know, I totally missed that. I was so busy reading about the federal charges. So his wife found it. I wonder if he's a parent as they're considering charges concerning another toddler. Oh my.

That brings up a lot of questions for me. You'd think that someone who had photos like that would protect the phone with their life. I also wonder if the woman suspected something and went looking. I guess it could have been something simple like looking for a number but just curious.

I am proud of his wife for showing composure in what I would describe as an absolute state of panic.

Maybe she found other evidence prior to her discovery.

And, I would guess, she might be afraid of his reaction if she reacted.

A surprising update:

SeaWorld Toddler Rape Trial Faces Insanity Delay

"The attorney for a Brevard County man accused of raping a toddler at SeaWorld says his client may not be competent to stand trial...."

and

"...He's accused of raping the young girl, a family friend, while her family was on a ride. Detectives said he was caught when his wife found pictures of the act on his cell phone. Grzybowicz's public defender now says he has a long history of mental health problems, and may have been legally insane at the time....

Legally insane? Working, visiting Sea World, hanging out with friends, married? Really?

Something tells me that even if this man has a mental illness, he knows right from wrong. I don't think this will fly.

Guilty!!!

Brevard County man found guilty of child molestation
january 24, 2012

"A federal jury found 27-year-old Michael Grzybowicz guilty of molestation, and taking pictures of a 2-year-old girl last year at SeaWorld. He was watching the girl and her 5-year-old brother, while their parents rode a roller coaster...."

and

...The case was tried in federal court because the man sent the pictures he took to his cell phone, which is against federal law...."

more at link (plus mugshot)

The statement bolded above answers the question as to what can trigger federal charges in a child *advertiser censored* case.

In another development, Grzybowicz lost a male relative to an early death, only days after his conviction. I wonder if the poor man succumbed due to the stress or shock?
