http://www.postcrescent.com/story/n...hamper-1999-hit-and-run-death-probe/87390800/ 'Missteps Hamper 1999 Hit-and-Run Death Probe' Part 2 of Ferak's 3 part series...Lots of familiar names contained here, I see. While the fact that these names are familiar is not surprising, because Manitowoc is a small community and there are only so many LEO to go around, the pattern of LE ACTIONS being questionable in an investigation that may include some of those very same LEO's is what stands out to me most here, JMO. Nothing to see here, folks, move along. SMH.

Another sloppy investigation for nefarious purposes perhaps in the hit & run the death of a teen? Unconscionable IMO. Some very questionable stuff going on in Manitowoc, wonder what else will be uncovered?

I feel very bad for the residents in that area who are probably scared to publicly question the actions of their law enforcement. What appears to be a pattern of deceit and coverups would frighten any citizen. That LE dept is not to be trusted, IMO, and I personally would not want to tangle with them. They are dirty, again, MOO.

What is really scary about it is that it doesn't seem like it is just a few bad apples. IMO, what we have here is a criminal organisation masquerading as LE. And even worse than that, they seem to have protection from higher levels of authority.

Has anyone else noticed that the names that keep popping up with accusations of corruption since 1985 are the ones who keep getting promoted to higher and higher levels of authority?

Right? Did you know that's there's a separate thread for those who dont think Avery was framed? Yeah... there is... but it's kinda dead...not much there at all. I guess it's sort of like having a thread for those who still think OJ is innocent. jmo

That was a really good article, i read it earlier. Also looking forward to the sequels, 2&3. As i said upthread what on earth has been going on in that county? A law unto themselves perhaps? I hope there will be some sort of investigation into it all.
I live in a county so very similar.

I posted them where the conversation was occurring.

The point, which is being totally missed (and more likely ignored) is this: some of us were accused of posting on the 'framing' thread, a thread that SA's fans started for themselves. No such posting took place. Those posts were moved from the Zellner thread to this thread, without any notice.

The level of investigative insight is illuminating.

Your skills are impressive. I guess someone pointing out that they were now posting in the "For Those Who Do Think Avery was Framed and Evidence Planted Discuss" may have been the first clue that they were moved. Maybe not. *shrug*

I don't think that it is in fact "SA Fans" that post here as I have seen many make claims that SA does not sound like a nice person (most especially to those closest to him). The people that post in this thread are more fans of Justice instead, IMHO.

Surely we don't have to keep repeating this, do we?

I really lose respect when I see comments like "SA Fans" or another one i have seen... "Rape & Murder groupies". I also get quite suspicious as I don't understand why folks are attacking others because they are seeking truth and justice. There is just something really deceitful about that.

Also... there is this, from another thread.

There are no haters or lovers, just people with differing opinions. So, please stop characterizing those whose views differ as belonging to some predefined group. TIA!

Thanks for posting Jaiddie!!!! Going to grab something to eat and read it :)

Wow, I can't believe how all the same players were still around in 2005, and just how many were around for years before this.

This statement from the first article sure stands out to me:

"Legitimate law enforcement agencies develop these protocols for a reason," Turvey told USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin. "It's all reputation and if (Manitowoc County) had a good reputation, you don't have to defend it. Because of their bad reputation and continually bad decisions, it's a lifestyle. It's not a mistake. It's who they are."

IMO it looks like they had some practice before 2005.

:goodpost:

I agree CoolJ, It's entirely unnecessary. I think because of such a shoddy and biased investigation into this case, there are more questions than answers, and if SA is innocent of the crime he has been accused and convicted of, then he certainly does deserve justice. And i agree also that most just are here to see that real justice is served for anyone that is wrongfully imprisoned. And also because if it can happen to someone else, it can happen to anyone. And that is something to be very concerned about, IMO.
:ditto:

RBBM~~

I can actually speak to that statement. There are not many jobs in that area~~so when you find a good one~~you hold onto it. Otherwise, you are no putting dinner on the table. I'm not surprised they were around for all of those years because of the job situation. Beautiful area~~but no very many jobs.

Which actually helps the theory of "the ole boys club" .... you have a good job, you want to keep it, you keep your mouth shut. JMO

Did anyone happen to read the second comment after the second part to the story? Interesting.
