A Canadian news report on the first page of this thread says that Gisele suffered 4 STIs during this time. Am looking for confirmation. If true, surely her doctor would have doubts about a monogamous lady contracting these infections and, depending on the type of infection, recommend that husband should be treated also?

Anyway, we are now just seeing the first pages of a huge dossier being read out.

I think the slew of STIs came after the news came out. After she found out about the rapes she got tested? That was my impression or understanding of what I had read

No, it was while the rapes were occurring I believe, he has been in prison for a few years. It's my understanding that she saw gynos and neurologists frequently due to symptoms she was experiencing.
 
Bringing forward source about victim seeing doctors before the truth came out. Although it doesn't specify she was tested for STIs by the gyno, I would hope so? Unless she contracted them after seeing gyno..

He knew one of the men had HIV.
And this man raped the victim 6 times (without protection).
Others had venereal diseases
which she got infected with because he forbade to use protection.

Asked Thursday by the judge if she knew any of the accused, Gisèle said she recognised only one.

“He was our neighbour. He came over to check our bikes. I used to see him at the bakery. He was always polite. I had no idea he was coming to rape me.”

Gisèle was then reminded by the judge that in order to respect the presumption of innocence, it had been agreed in court not to use the word rape but “sex scene”.

She replied: “I just think they should recognise the facts. When I think of what they have done I am overcome with disgust. They should at least have the responsibility to recognise what they did.”

Words fail me, the VICTIM is admonished by the judge not to use the word RAPE in court. She was raped six times by an HIV+ man who her husband told not to wear a condom! And HER LANGUAGE is the concern?!!! Bit worried about this judge tbh. MOOO. It is all on VIDEO, what happened is not in dispute and per the article, even her HUSBAND called it RAPE. But the male judge admonished HER. Surreal. JMO.

How is there a presumption of innocence in all this? Plenty of video/photographic evidence and he admitted he did it. Just sentence the cretin and let him rot along with the sickos that took part.

This infuriates me.
Saying "I was raped" and "that man had sex with me" are very different things. Even if they are trying to "respect the presumption of innocence", this is still wrong.
 
Not only this family has been totally destroyed but...
think about all these 50+ families of other defendants.

Wives, children, brothers, sisters, other relatives.
Friends.

All incredulous at first,
then disgusted and probably feeling shame
(although it should be perps to feel shame,
not poor family members)

Just imagine all neighbours gossiping and finger pointing.
