I'm not really sure how I would react to that if I was him.
I think I might be a bit uneasy about going out in public.
So much for lightning doesn't strike twice.

"American train hero Spencer Stone was stabbed trying to protect a girl who was getting punched by her boyfriend, it was claimed last night.

Eyewitness Eric Cain revealed Wednesday night's stabbing in Sacramento was over a girl who then fled the scene - with the two suspects.

The mystery woman, apparently dressed in 'pants and a tank top' can be seen getting into the getaway car with the two men in new security camera footage released by police last night."

What a true hero and amazing guy I hope he fully recovers. Hopefully they arrest everyone involved ASAP. Spencer has been through an awful lot the past few months.

I hope he fully recovers too and I hope this incident doesn't affect his amazing spirit. I also hope the woman gets out of what seems to be an abusive relationship. It worries me she fled with her abuser like that.

The French judiciary has arrested a second suspect in the foiled attack on the Thalys train in August. The man from Tunisia was arrested on Monday, according to RTL France on Wednesday. It is not yet known where that happened.

Three Americans who traveled by train from Amsterdam to Paris, overpowered in August Ayoub el-Khazzani, before he could open fire with a loaded Kalashnikov in the train. The man was arrested and is still being held. He still denies having had terrorist intentions.

The man arrested on Monday was on the contact list of the accused.

Alek Skarlatos has danced himself (and his partner) into the finals of Dancing With the Stars next week, although he's never danced or performed before. His buddies Spencer and Anthony were in the audience one week and pretended to rush the judges when they didn't like Alek's scores!

And to top it all off, the three friends have been named to People magazine's sexiest men alive list (sexiest heroes).

This part of their story makes me smile.

BRITON WHO HELPED FOIL TRAIN TERROR ATTACK: WHAT HAPPENED NEXT

The Guardian
http://www.theguardian.com/world/20...france-train-terror-attack-what-happened-next

[Chris Norman] The British businessman became a national celebrity in his adopted country after helping three off-duty US soldiers wrestle the would-be gunman to the ground on an Amsterdam to Paris express train. Twelve weeks later, as the French capital was coming to terms with the scale of the bloodshed in the Bataclan theatre and on its streets, Norman learned that the terror cell’s ringleader was being linked with the train attacker he had confronted.

(...)

As for personal security, he admits to having spent a bit of time with friends in the police and military “thinking of what we would do”, but adds with a relaxed chuckle: “In the end we bought a big dog. It’s a bit of protection but there are quite a few radicalised people in the towns nearby.”

Rather, he has found himself thinking about the root causes for the behaviour of the train suspect, Ayoub el-Khazzani, and cites reports that Khazzani was linked to the supposed mastermind of events in the

“What also really hit me was Paris because, a couple of times I actually said to the guys ‘this is just the beginning’, and then it turned out the terrorist we were actually involved with was driven by the same guy who was involved in the Paris attacks.

“The reaction I have now is that I need to understand why [Khazzani] was doing it. I had him in front of me and his eyes were just blank. He didn’t say a word during the whole thing. So now I am interested in finding out more about why someone would want to do it.”

#Thalys attacker el-Khazzani slipped into #EU posing as refugee on orders from #Parisattack coordinator Abaaoud

Bodnar also revealed that Ayoub el-Khazzani, who attacked passengers on a Thalys train connecting Brussels and Paris in August 2015, passed through Hungary posing as a Syrian.

The Isis operatives carried fake Syrian passports and were “well-trained” in covert communications, Bodnar said. They frequently changed mobile phone cards and would set up and then delete Facebook profiles every day to get orders from their handlers in Raqqa, Isis’s Syrian stronghold.

ANTHONY SADLER, ALEK SKARLATOS AND SPENCER STONE CAST AS THEMSELVES IN UPCOMING CLINT EASTWOOD MOVIE ABOUT THALYS ATTACK

Daily Mail

Clint Eastwood has taken an unconventional move with his latest film, tapping the heroes of the 2015 Paris train attack to play themselves in their own biopic.

The 87-year-old director has cast Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone to recreate the dramatic moment they tacked an AK-wielding gunman.

Eastwood and the studio had already completed casting for the film, titled The 15:17 to Paris, when the unusual decision was made at the last hour, Variety reported.

I wonder how they will feel about having to recreate it. It will be realistic and worth seeing.

When I heard about the movie, I felt (and still feel) like writing to Clint Eastwood and ask him to please pay attention to the context too:

Not one government considered protecting the people travelling on those trains, and if it hadn't been for those few good men who happened to be around, this would have been a massacre, one of many, and inspired by the same person who masterminded the Bataclan attacks in Paris.

Failed mass-murderer El Khazzani slipped into Europe posing as a refugee, one of many too and not only this is continuing till this day, but there is neither any hope that it will stop in the near future.

Europeans are rapidly losing the place they used to call home.

GERMANY EXTRADITES SUSPECT LINKED TO THALYS ATTACK

Tagesspiegel.de
http://www.tagesspiegel.de/politik/...verdaechtigen-an-frankreich-aus/20540542.html

Germany has extradited a suspected jihadist to France who may have been involved in planning the attack on the Thalys express train from Amsterdam to Paris. The Moroccan citizen Redouane S. was transferred to France on Thursday last week and formally accused by the judiciary of "participating in attempted terrorist murder", according to a report from the French judiciary on Friday.

S. had been detained in Germany in December 2016, and France had then requested extradition in July. In August 2015, Moroccan Ayoub El Khazzani had fired shots around him on a Thalys train and injured two people. Two US soldiers who were accidentally travelling with him overwhelmed him, probably preventing a more serious bloodbath.

Khazzani testified during his interrogations in France that he had committed the assassination attempt on the orders of jihadist Abdelhamid Abaaoud; Abaoud is also considered the mastermind behind the series of attacks in which 130 people were killed in Paris two years ago.

Investigators assume that the S., which has now been handed over, was part of the close circle around Abaaoud, who was killed by the French police shortly after the Paris attacks. Both traveled together in Europe on several occasions, according to the judiciary.

I was on that train in early September. There was no security clearance prior to boarding the train, and most people have some sort of luggage because they're traveling between countries. It would be easy to bring weapons onto the train. Passengers were generally sleeping, playing cards, watching videos, and passing the time without any thought of someone potentially shooting or attacking passengers. Also, all seats are pre-reserved, so the train is fully occupied and there is no room to move to get out of the way of a man with a gun.

PERPETRATOR OF FOILED THALYS ATTACK WAS KNOWN TO INTEL SERVICES SINCE 2012

TPo_Online
http://nieuws.tpo.nl/2017/11/25/dader-verijdelde-aanslag-thalys/

The perpetrator of the foiled attack on the Thalys train from Amsterdam to Paris in 2015 was known to the Belgian intelligence services since 2012. This can be concluded from the supervisory authority's annual report, Belgian media reports on Saturday. The man was finally overpowered in the train by American passengers.

On 21 August 2015, the 25-year-old Moroccan Ayoub el-Khazzani whoi was heavily armed boarded at Brussels-Midi station the train from Amsterdam and hid in the toilet. Just beyond the French border he came out with the weapons, but he was immediately captured by three alert American passengers and then handed over to the French police.

However, the Spanish intelligence services informed their Belgian colleagues years ago about El-Khazzani and his brother Imran because they were concerned about their radicalisation. However, the intelligence services did not attach urgency to the dossier, according to the Monitoring Committee.
