I'm just going to broach this. I was hoping someone else would and I could just "thanks" their post.

Is something wrong with DE? He doesn't look right. He seems tiny, and his facial features don't look normal to me. I wonder if he has been diagnosed with some kind of developmental genetic syndrome.

Fetal alcohol syndrome maybe?

None of his features resemble fetal alcohol syndrome.
He doesn't have thin upper lip or smooth philtrum.

Each side will probably try to say the other was the shooter so I'm thinking they won't be tried together.
They may have DL testify against DE for a reduced sentence.

IMO

Mother of the child seems very sure as to who the shooter was. Also the gun was found after interviews with DE's family members.
Seems like DE will have a hard time if he tries to claim DL was the shooter.

And remember the earlier article that said LE knew exactly who played what role in the crime.
I wish I could remember where the link is.

Somehow they KNOW.

That had us speculating that they had video or something really concrete.

In regards to LE and their having video evidence of the crime. Now that the gun has been discovered, and we know where it was located, I suspect the video evidence may be surveillance video showing Karimah and Sabrina Elkins chucking that gun into the pond.

I think the statement about LE knowing what each of the accused roles were has to do with DL rolling on DE and the evidence LE found and how and with who supports his claims.

I don't think DE looks unusual at all, I think he resembles his mother a quite a bit.

DL looks a little odd to me but I think it is a combination of his choice of hairstyle (dreaddy sort of topknot thingy) and that he looks so very young and scared. He also has very prominent eyes but I assume it is a familial feature.

I don't find either boy looks particularly off or suffers from diminished capacity. Although appearances are not exactly indicators of such things anyway.

Actually, people who work with developmentally delayed children can usually spot them by appearance. For DE, it's not FAS I don't think - he really doesn't have any of the features. There's something, though, that catches my eye.

“Without a preliminary hearing, there is no way to test the sufficiency of the evidence” prior to motions and other trial proceedings, Gough said.
He mentioned a number of defendants who have been jailed for up to two years on serious charges without their cases being heard by grand juries.
Asked about the aggravated assault and attempted robbery charges against Elkins from the March 11 shooting, Gough said, “We just feel fortunate they didn’t include Jimmy Hoffa’s [disappearance].”

:floorlaugh: Mr. Gough does have a flair for the dramatic, I must give him that.

So the gun was a .22 used in both attempted robberies. They likely have the bullet from robbery attempt 1 and the bullet from Antonio's murder and they likely match, hence LE being able to connect both crimes. All they need now is to link the bullets to that specific gun. really hoping good results come from the forensics being conducted on the gun and that there is still plenty of evidence to recover from it.

That lawyer has got to be kidding me.
Armed attempted robbery in the same general area with a similar MO is hardly the same as linking his client to Jimmy Hoffa's dissapearance.
Here are some details of the attempted robbery.

"According to the indictment for murder filed Wednesday against Elkins, the 17-year-old shot the pastor in a
robbery attempt 10 days before killing baby Antonio Santiago while trying to rob the child's mother."

Just now - a short segmant on CNN

Said that both DE and DL are charged and will be tried as adults. While they aren't eligible for the death penalty (due to age) they both can be sentenced to LWOP.

Also showed a very short clip of Gough. I'll keep my comments about this man to myself and sit on my hands.

I understand, some things are best left unsaid.

Kuritz said social media is often used in investigations, by law enforcement and defense attorneys. Social media allows them to see what suspects are really doing and really saying.

"I've seen several times with social media where people who are convicted felons holding guns, holding drugs, and carrying fire arms and they're posting pictures proudly on websites or social media, only to find out it's going to bite them in the long run."

snip

"They're all doing something individual but at the end of the day you can tie them all together, at the end of the day I would not be surprised to see that in this case."

I agree, I will not be surprised.

Outside looking in, It's seems that LE is looking for anything that will help to keep these two in for as long as possible, their hands are tied as to life, death penalty. jmo
