DNA Solves
Hey guys, this has probably been done before but I just submitted this man's case to the DNA Doe Project (the ME report states there a hair sample was taken and so DNA is possible). I know they have a million cases they could potentially work on but I tried to plead my case that it would be a successful endeavor with the known relatives/existing names/picture aspect. I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but if multiple people submit this man, maybe they'll consider it more.

I have contacted the Ontario Provincial Police with Case#: RM11007266:
Donald Alexander MacGregor – The Charley Project

And, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office, Investigation Section with Case#: 80-2267:
1029UMGA

Case similarities:
-Same age
-Same weight
-Height is close
-Both had dentures
-Both white
-Both cases have a strong connection to Panama City, Florida
-Both are most likely within the same time frame, as the unidentified remains were skeletonized by the time they were found in 1980, and the bus ticket from Panama City writing was "faded and mostly illegible" at the time of discovery
-Ontario, Canada (where the missing person is from) has many area codes with phone numbers *advertiser censored*-278-3448
-The little girl's outfit has been recognized as being from the early 70s by some, particularly with the turtle neck.

The only discrepancy is that the unidentified is described as having "blond and gray hair" while the missing person is described as having brown hair.
I posted this 13 years ago, and the investigating agency said that they had the remains on-site but had to find them for a DNA comparison, and that they will keep me updated. That's the last I heard from them. I email them every 5 years or so, and they never respond back..

Edit: Hmm, it seems the cases are not in the same time frame, if their estimates are correct. Not sure why I came to the following conclusion:

"Both are most likely within the same time frame, as the unidentified remains were skeletonized by the time they were found in 1980, and the bus ticket from Panama City writing was "faded and mostly illegible" at the time of discovery"

Extreme newbie on the UID forum, so I'm sorry if this is not helpful. But what if Dwight is the son who wrote the letter and Pam is his daughter, the one in the picture? Meaning he wrote the letter and signed it from both of them and enclosed the picture. Probably not the case but I just thought I'd throw it out there.
I'm 3 years late, lol, but the more I think about this, the more sense it makes. At this point, I have to say I am actually leaning towards this rather than his daughter and son-in-law or daughter and son. To me, and I acknowledge I am likely reading way too much into this, it also makes a lot of sense to sign "Pam + Dwight" in that case since she would, if this is correct, be the one pictured and it'd be "from" his granddaughter and "cuter".

And, this is not on topic with this, and not sure if anyone has brought this up, but as someone who works with children and sees 4-year-olds very often, IMO, the little girl in the picture is probably not 4. I'd say closer to 6.

@MOTORUNNER called it right in 2017. In post #92 of this thread he said perhaps it is not "HR Bow" but "Arrow" Dyeing and Finishing, as he'd found a business with that name in Dalton, GA.

A poster on another site where I will not link seems to confirm. I do not link because TOS, but I do feel comfortable discussing because it's not a theory or a personal opinion, but a factual claim and a source cited: The 1976 Georgia Manufacturer's Directory.

Arrow Dye & Finishing Co.

1411 May Street

PO Box 1947

Dalton, Georgia 30720

Ph: 404-278-3448

Established in 1975

President: Saul Rosenthal

Note the phone number. So presumably, if someone can find this directory in a library or online or something we can verify for ourselves if this information is indeed correct.

It may not tell us too much. A company that was founded in 1975 and a decedent found in 1980 means it could be somewhere he worked for a short period of time, or perhaps never worked at all, but maybe a brother or son did, and he kept the photo they sent him too.

But, we could see if there are any community Facebook pages in and around Dalton, GA that might spread the word and see if anyone remembers a coworker or neighbor etc. who may fit the description.

I was looking at the photos again and noticed something. It was pointed out in post #75 of this thread. It looks to me like the writing is “Pam y Dw…” (I can’t remember where and if there are full photos available). I’m using this source: Porchlight International for the Missing & Unidentified-GAM801219

Pam y Dwight in Spanish translates to Pam and Dwight in English. FWIW

I almost have to wonder if they are Cuban or other light-skinned Hispanics with you bringing up this possibility?

There is a Saul Rosenthal from Dalton, GA who filed a patent for a carpet dyeing system on March 16, 1979, and which went into effect the following year on December 16, 1980—literally four days before our JD was found! I'm confident this is the same Saul Rosenthal because the patent has to do with dyeing, just like his business.

The patent is also recorded in the Official Gazette of the United States Patent and Trademark Office edition Vol. 1001, Number 3.

He is listed as an inventor along with David Kelly (also from Dalton) and Michael Vidal (from Lakeworth, FL), which now gives us two other people that may have more information. Even if they are no longer living, perhaps their descendants may hold records or remember something.

Just reviewing the PM details. He had gray eyes. Less than 3% of the world population has gray eyes; they are the rarest colour. A high percentage of Estonians have gray eyes and others from northern and eastern Europe. Have they run his DNA?

I think I posted this on the wrong thread! Sorry for the confusion. My apologies. Who's thinking, what the heck is she talking about?

I was, because we're talking about a skeletonized body.

That address, 1411 May Street in Dalton, GA., still exists. It appears to be a warehouse or distribution center nowadays.
