Maybe the guy had a family member who was a Virgo and that's all the tattoo really means -- you know, sort of an honoring thing. Or maybe he had a crazy gf/bf who was a Virgo (lord knows us Virgos get a little crazy most of the time LOL). The tattoo looks amateur, so..

It is not evident he was a Grateful Dead fan. It is possible he was a Kyuss fan, but it's not definitive either.

This is how we have him written up on Never Forget Me
Grateful dead fan # 2-July 20, 1995-Atlanta,GA.
It has been brought to our attention that there was no Grateful Dead concert in Atlanta that night. There was actually a baseball game there, Braves Vs. Pirates. We apologize about the error, we depend on the information in the person unidentified profile to be accurate. That is actually an important detail someone looking for someone who went missing after a baseball game, might have overlooked this man because of how he is listed. Jerry Garcia did perform that night with Kyuss, which might be what created the confusion.

But this is incorrect. Jerry Garcia never performed with Kyuss. In fact, by the time of this accident Jerry Garcia had checked himself into the Betty Ford clinic. The lead singer of Kyuss was named John Garcia. The baseball game was at Fulton County Stadium which is a full 9 miles away from the scene of the accident. Less than one mile from the scene is the Lakewood Amphitheatre. The lineup that night was Kyuss, Babes in Toyland, Reverend Horton Heat, and the headliner White Zombie. So I think we are looking for a White Zombie fan.

Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium was about 2-2.5 miles from the scene of the accident.

You are correct, I was wrong about the 9 miles -- it was 9 minutes by car. My bad. Although the walking distance was more like 3-4 miles from FCS to the scene. All I was trying to get at was that it was more likely he was coming from the amphitheatre because it is much closer. Also the baseball game was over at 10:05pm. I think we'll find that the ending of the concert coincides better to the time he was found.

I am finding that there is all sorts of conflicting information regarding precisely what concert took place at Lakewood Amphitheatre on 7/20/95.

This web page says Kyuss played alone. http://thefade.net/oldsite/kyuss/kyuss.html
This web page for Reverend Horton Heat does not list 7/20/95 at all. http://www.reverendhortonheat.com/tourdates_past.php
This web page is from a couple who claims to have attended a White Zombie concert together at Lakewood on 7/20/95. https://redusc.wordpress.com/concerts/
And setlist.fm lists concert dates for Kyuss, Babes In Toyland, Rev. Horton Heat, and White Zombie but no actual set lists. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/rever...akewood-amphitheatre-atlanta-ga-5bc52bdc.html

So I guess it's time to nail down exactly what happened that night at that amphitheatre.

Yeah, they were definitely touring together during that time. The only question is if they all played Atlanta on 7/20/95. Some sources indicate that they did not.

I am also coming up completely empty in searches of Atlanta newspaper archives to find any mention of this hit and run accident or unidentified individual, or his death almost a year later.

Could someone please greatly enlarge all 3 tats and post them in this thread? I do not know how to do that.
I am not sure, but I think I see a marijuana leaf shape in the sea serpent and the "Virgo" looks like it originally said something else. Here is the doenetwork link to all 3 tats if anyone can enlarge them for easier viewing/discussion. TIA!!!!

I certainly see something in the serpent/dragon, but I've never been able to figure out what it is. The part that looks like a marijuana leaf is part of the dragon's neck frill, it looks like, and it's done in such detail it even has shadows.

I think at least one letter on the "virgo(n)" tattoo is altered, also.

The photo of the dragon on Namus is a little clearer. https://identifyus.org/en/medias/full/182

Does it look to anybody else like he's got a long narrow scar across the lower left side of his abdomen? Or is that a defect in the photo?

Thank you! I do not follow his case; we have been trying to edit as people have commented to let us know the facts were wrong. I'll let you guys & gals work on it then will edit it to reflect what you find out. I do know that people that commented felt he was in a gang & that his tats were all cover ups of the gang related tats.

Yes, the frill around the neck looks more like a marijuana leaf disguised as a frill to me also.
If you look at the left side of the picture, below and to the right of the middle of the serpent, there is what appears to be the bottom edge of a bat wing. It also appears there is something like a capital letter C or a one -fourth moon shape is tilted sideways and the ends are pointing up to the UID's face. You can clearly see what appears to be a faint outline of a tall narrow triangle behind the serpent. Could it be some sort of Masonic symbol of a square and compass that was later modified into a sea serpent/dragon? Link to Masonic symbol of square and compass: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freemasonry

Thank you for enlarging it.

Now that we know there was no Grateful Dead or Jerry Garcia performances that night, maybe one of the mods could change the heading and remove the "Grateful Dead" part?

The dragon looks an awful lot like Gustav Dore's illustrations of the monster called the Geryon in Dante's Inferno.

I agree that a mod should remove "Grateful Dead" from this man's thread title. People who knew him and are possibly looking for him may skip over this thread because they don't think that he was a Grateful Dead fan. It would be great to remove GD from all of the write-ups about him.
