awful, I hope somehow they're ok - maybe decided to take an unplanned vacation and didn't think to tell anyone...I seriously can't stand the thought of another elderly couple meeting with foul play this week.

I'm in touch with his cousin. And he doesn't do that unfortunately [emoji19] Also they do know that they did make it to McRae .

14K Likes and growing. Many, many shares. It seems the family and LE are doing everything they possibly can to be on top of this.

We're coming up on 48 hours missing. :(

I feel so helpless; wish there was more I could do...

It might be worthwhile to do some research and look at robberies/home invasions/other possible related incidents (needle in a haystack, I'm sure).

I wonder if the ad on CL is still up? (Of course we can still retrieve it if not), but what I'm saying is we really need to see that ad...I'd like to see what the language is like, what the photos are like, etc, etc, etc...

This is driving me nuts - they look SO familiar to me, especially Bud. And I'm on the other side of the country.

I've got friends in that part of the US, but...anyway, trying to see if I can figure out why they look so familiar!

Anyway, here's a linked in for Bud. https://www.linkedin.com/pub/bud-runion/a1/1b6/12

It appears he's associated with a faith based non-profit also (I'm not quite sure if the address floating all over is their home address or not, but if it is, then they are VERY easily findable b/c just searching his name pulls up the address on hordes of sites)

When I saw the photo of Bud, he looked familiar to me too, and that is because he reminded me of the late actor
Henry Jones.

When I saw the photo of Bud in this link:

Bud reminded me of Dr. Pol, the veterinarian

Maybe one of these 2 men is who you are thinking of? Maybe?
IMOO.

This reminds me of the couple who left Myrtle Beach and were found in water much much later. Prayers.

You know, I'm glad you mentioned this because I've had tunnel vision here as to the possibilities because of the word "craigslist"....There IS the possibility that they had a car accident and are out of view...Thank you for posting this! There is the case of Tanya Rider who had an accident and was found alive in her car 8 days later!

I wonder how many cellphone towers there are in McRae, and which tower (s) confirmed their arrival there?

This is scary! I hope they are okay. Anytime Craigslist comes up in a situation I fear the worst. :tantrum:

still no new news....sounds like both their cell phones are 'off' according to the FB on an earlier post....that is ominous sounding

goodness, i really hope there was some kind of miscommunication amongst the family , and I wonder if LE was able to ascertain if they were carrying a large amount of cash?

PS thanks for posting the map Marg. I made a mistake earlier....if they went south on 75, they could have continued on 75 then headed east to McRae @ 280/Cordele , or gone down 16 to 441 and down to McRae....441 is off 16 not 75

I have not seen in any of the articles that I have read what their plan was for getting the vehicle home if they decided to purchase it. I see that they planned on returning home immediately, but would they each drive one car, or pick up later?

Has there been any word on whether or not LE has been able to locate the alleged seller of the car?

We had a similar case in San fernando Valley, Ca. A college student tried to sell his nice BMW on Craigslist. And he went missing. It turned out the buyers stole their $ back and killed him.

Ok this ad says that Bud placed the ad on Craiglist looking to buy a Mustang. And they were contacted . Makes me now think they were contacted via email 1st . As I read earlier they were going over the computer . Of course if email of the supposed seller was on a Cell phone that won't do any good .

I don't know what their plans might have been, but when my father used to buy vehicles in other towns, he often had a tow dolly (the kind that goes under one set of wheels) to tow the vehicle back. I don't think you'd want to do that to a vintage Mustang though. If he's a Mustang fan, he probably wanted to drive it back himself and have his wife drive the family vehicle.

Not sure whether this one has been posted:

Search underway for couple in Telfair County

A massive search is underway in Telfair County for a Marietta couple that went there to buy a car. ...

...Sheriff Chris Steverson...said he has reason to believe, but doesn’t know for sure, that the couple did make it to McRae....

...The identity of the person who responded to the ad, or the exact location of the meeting, is not known, Steverson said. Based on some leads they are focusing on a couple of areas....

I live near where the Runion's cell phone last pinged and have friends in the area who have reported unusual helicopter activity. I've also seen a screengrab of an alleged "wanted" post on CL by Mr. Runion that looked to have included his mobile number. Therefore, CL might not have been a factor as far as contact goes. This area of South Georgia has numerous backroads and plenty of places to hide a vehicle. My gut says this will not end well and I pray that I'm wrong.
