I think he also realizes that Kennedy did the same thing in 1960 in Hawaii and it didn't result in indictments or anything at all. This story appeared in Politico months ago and the media has thoroughly covered it.

...Until now, it’s been unclear whether the 1960 case of the Kennedy electors was truly analogous to 2020 Trump electors. But the unofficial Democratic certificates, obtained by POLITICO from the non-digitized files of the National Archives, show the three Kennedy electors signed documents that are remarkably similar to the false Trump-elector certificates.

The certificates describe the three Democrats as the “duly and legally appointed and qualified” members of the Electoral College. The envelope containing the certificates, stamped Dec. 22, 1960, includes another avowal: “We hereby certify that the lists of all the votes of the state of Hawaii given for president … are contained herein.”

The documents do not mention the ongoing recount or that Nixon’s Hawaii victory had been certified.

Instead, the Hawaii Democrats used virtually the same language that the false Trump electors in five states used in their effort to upend the 2020 race. In those documents — from Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia — the pro-Turmp activists described themselves as “duly elected and qualified.” In two other states, Pennsylvania and New Mexico, Trump allies submitted alternative elector slates but included a caveat: their votes would only be counted if ongoing court battles broke in favor of Trump.

The circumstances are different.

AUG 26, 2023
A superior court judge has set the first group hearing in a Fulton County case implicating former President Donald Trump and more than a dozen allies in alleged election interference, according to court documents.

The notice shows that all 19 co-defendants are expected at the Fulton County Courthouse at 1 p.m. next Thursday. It is unclear what the hearing will address, or if anyone will attend virtually.

The case’s trial date has been heavily debated. Court documents suggest that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was originally considering a March 2024 trial, but defendant Kenneth Chesebro was approved for a speedy trial set for Oct. 23. Willis then moved to set all the trials for that date — a motion Trump objected, looking to sever his case.

Back to it, the Georgia indictment.

Count 1: Violation of Georgia RICO Act
All 19 defendants are changed with this count. There are 161 acts under this count and I'm going through them one-by-one. Each act is "in furtherance of the conspiracy."

These are notes and mistakes are my own. The source document is linked below.

Any bolding is by me.

107. Dec 31, 2020: Jenna Ellis (Trump campaign lawyer) wrote memo "Memorandum Re: Constitutional Analysis of Vice President Authority for January 6, 2021 Electoral College Vote Count" to Trump. Memo outlined strategy for disrupting and delaying Congress on Jan 6, the day prescribed by law for counting votes by duly elected and qualified electors. Memo stated, "the Vice President should therefore not open any of the votes" from six states that were falsely characterized as "electoral delegates in dispute." (Note: Jenna Ellis is a constitutional law attorney.)

108. Dec 31, 2020: Trump and John Eastman (Trump lawyer) committed the felony Filing False Documents in Fulton, Georgia by knowingly filing a document "VERIFIED COMPLAINT FOR EMERGENCY INJUNCTIVE AND DECLARATORY RELIEF" in the matter of Trump v. Kemp in the U.S. District Court for Northern District of Georgia, having reason to know the document contained at least one of the following false statements:
1. "As many as 2,506 felons with uncompleted sentence" voted illegally (Reminder: this is false. Actual number: potentially 74.)
2. "At least 66,247 underage" people voted illegally (Reminder: this is false. Actual number: 0)
3. "At least 2,423" people not registered to vote in Georgia did vote (Reminder: this is false. Actual number: 0)
4. "At least 1,043" people registered with P.O. boxes and voted illegally (Reminder: this is false)
5. "As many as 10,315 or more" dead people voted. (Reminder this is false. Have to pause to appreciate the "or more" that was added to the number. The actual number? I found one source stating 2 but another said 4.)
6."Deliberate misinformation was used to instruct Republican poll watchers and members of the press to leave the premises for the night at approximately 10:00pm on November 3, 2020" at State Farm Arena in Fulton County, Georgia. (Note: Article about Georgia Secretary of State Raffensperger's response to this is linked below.)

Earlier that same day, Dec 31, John Eastman emailed campaign attorneys admitting his knowledge that at least some of the allegations in the verified complaint were not accurate.

We ain't done yet. To be continued....January is coming up.

From your link, just to complete the picture:

The judge’s decision disqualifying Willis from questioning Jones likely has no real bearing on the future of Willis’ overarching investigation into what she has called “a multi-state, coordinated plan” by Trump’s campaign to influence the results of the 2020 election. But it served as a rebuke of Willis and provided ammunition to her critics who have accused her of pursuing a politically motivated case.

BBM. Yes, it did provide ammunition. She has only herself to blame.

I would liken it to the various “fun house” mirrors that are designed to distort perceptions. I have to work extra hard to keep track of what is real and accurate. The image quickly changes as soon as my (or another poster’s logic) has gotten too close to the truth. It is crazy-making. And that is not an accident.

JMO
Correct. Imo, It is totally by design. The upside down world. Loaded full of false equivalencies. Facts just don’t matter bc hello Kelly Anne - we have our own cult of alternate “facts”. It’s a big LOL. Except it’s hard to lol, because it’s so dysfunctionally tragic. IMO

As always, I fail to see why Trump apologists need to use ammunition against Fani Willis if the defense has a strong case for Trump & Co. It strikes me as desperate to go to such lengths to attack an elected official doing her job. I’ll grant that she should have been more circumspect about her support for Jones’ opponent, but as the first part of the paragraph I quoted pointed out, it really has no bearing on the entirety of the case she has brought against the 19 defendants. To continue to attack her is simply more DARVO (“Deny, attack, reverse victim and offender”).

I have no respect for politicians like Willis who abuse their office and our judicial system for political reasons and to fund-raise from it. I agree with Judge McBurney who ruled against Willis. Optics do matter. Willis announced her re-election campaign and established a website to raise money for her campaign a few days before she indicted 19 Republicans.

Can you post the gist, please. Elon has blocked me, even though I could read without a membership until a few weeks ago. This has happened to several of us, so we need a translator. :)
I missed your post. Thanks y'all for taking care of providing X translation. ;) Will be more mindful of the X issue going forward.

The thing is, I betcha anything Fani Willis has experience with people being against her. She's no delicate flower who will wilt under pressure.

These are facts that have been linked through out. Just because A is true doesn’t mean B isn’t true. Critical thinkers know this. But here we are. imo

Politicians in Georgia passed a law so that they can remove District Attorneys. Gov. Kemp agreed. That's the reality in Georgia. It is no different than in Florida where Gov. DeSantis has already removed several District Attorneys from their positions.

JMO
I absolutely am aware of the law they passed, that Kemp signed and flat-out said-so in my post. Right there in para 2 ... I said exactly what you are pointing out to me.

Snipped the relevent bit into this post for you:
I suspect any eventual move by any Committee to remove Willis, and they do have the authority to remove persons based upon this law signed by Kemp, will be appealed and lost in the higher court precisely because of this bit of that law (you know, as cited within the actual article being posted in here earlier and re-cited within this post too):
I then listed out what bits of that "Act" (ie: law) that they can utilize for removal and pointed out the fact she meets none of the criteria.

Respectfully, if you are going to quote me in the future, at least take the time to read my post.

Green Day is selling shirts with Donald Trump's recently taken mugshot on them.

The shirts' design borrows from the cover of the band's 1997 album, Nimrod, but with Trump's photo placed in it. According to an Instagram post from Green Day, the merch will be available for a limited time only, and proceeds will be donated to a charity working to send relief to those affected by the Maui fires.

This has to be the arraignment, no?

(And by the way, guys, that GA law regarding district attorneys is the subject of a current lawsuit brought by a handful of Georgia district attorneys. FWIW and sorry if this is duplicate info,)

I don't know what that hearing is for but hopefully the arraignments will take place the week of Sept. 5. MOO

It's unclear when Trump will appear before a judge to be arraigned. District Attorney Fani Willis has proposed Trump and his 18 co-defendants be arraigned the week of Sept. 5, but the judge has not yet approved that request.

Respectfully, I have no idea what you are talking about. There is no "criteria." It will be up to the Commission which consists of other Georgia DAs. I suggest you re-read your link.
JMO

Your link specifically says:
"The only real possible risk of her being removed would be through this new Prosecuting Attorneys Qualifications Commission," Cunningham said.

Republican officeholders have appointed all of the members of the commission, which will begin accepting complaints Oct. 1.

And there's already one person in line to file the first complaint.

Georgia state Sen. Clint Dixon said earlier this week he "will be ready to call for an investigation" once the committee begins, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.

I don't see anything pertaining to this case on Judge McAfee's calendar for that date, but who knows with all of the craziness.

Shawn Still, one of the Georgia fake electors, is trying to move the case to federal court. I don't know if that makes sense given that electors represent the state. Will be interesting to see the decision on that.

Also look like he is willing to cooperate:
"Mr. Still, as a presidential elector, was also acting at the direction of the incumbent president of the United States," Still's attorney Thomas Bever... 'The president's attorneys instructed Mr. Still and the other contingent electors that they had to meet and cast their ballots on Dec. 14, 2020.'"

Will D.A. Willis cut a deal for cooperation or say it's too late?

Deals will be cut. That's the way it works.
It's not too late. I've seen deals cut during trials!

As you know, one purpose of a deal is to provide information.

Trump will never plea deal.
Guiliani likely won't because he's Trump's BFF

In the end, I think many will plea.
Many in this group (the attorneys) likely want to "get on with their lives".
They likely have other careers in the works. (The Watergate conspirators had lucrative post-conviction careers)

Some at the bottom won't plea because they will be steadfast.

Just MOO...
