I've been going through articles again, but can't find answers to my questions. Didn't it say somewhere that Hannah didn't have a key to the apartment; that she had to wait until her mother got home. I know there's speculation that she didn't want to go inside because she was mad at her mother for taking away privileges, but my understanding is that was her mother's thinking when Hannah didn't go inside AFTER he mother got home.

So, if it's true that Hannah didn't have a key to the apartment, then where were her schoolbooks? If she'd been sitting at the picnic table since getting home from school, she must've had her schoolbooks -- and maybe purse -- with her. Were they later found at the picnic table?

Also, I cannot find a definite time her mother got home from work on Aug. 24. I think it is HT's dad, JT, who says that her mother normally returned home between 7:30 - 8:00 p.m. and her mother started getting concerned about Hannah around 9:00.

TIA

Hannah needed her own apartment key because she left for school after her mother left for work in the morning and Hannah arrived home before her.

Hannah's mother never said she saw or spoke to Hannah after she arrived home from work on Thursday evening. She told 911 she didn't see Hannah on Thursday before she left for work.

Hannah's father said Hannah's mother, Mona Harris, arrived home from work between 7:30 pm - 8 pm and he was sure Hannah was sitting outside at the picnic table because she didn't want to see her mother.

Mr. Truelove didn't say when he last spoke to his daughter but there was no phone in her apartment and Hannah didn't have a cell phone, so how he knew Hannah was sitting outside so she wouldn't see her mother Thursday evening isn't clear. Witnesses saw Hannah sitting at the picnic table at 7:30 pm.

Not bashing, but I think Dad is making some assumptions which are not based in fact.

Did Mom have a boyfriend, anyone know?

Why wouldn't a 16 yr old know the code to the gates in her gated complex? Did her mother keep them a secret from her? And why wouldn't a 16 yr old have her own apt. key? And why didn't she have a cell?

Hannah wouldn't need to know the code to the gates because she didn't have a vehicle and her father said she didn't have friends with vehicles that she rode around with. Plus she rode the school bus. Her father said he was teaching Hannah to drive and it was a long walk from the gates to Hannah's apartment. He said she liked a boy that lived in the neighborhood.

Hannah's mother didn't allow Hannah's father to purchase her a cell phone and she told the 911 operator her daughter lost privileges at school and that was one of them.

Gainesville High School reopened on August 10th, 2012 and Hannah's mother didn't tell the 911 operator what her daughter did that cost her all her priviledges so early in the school year. Hannah's father said she was a good girl.

Hannah lived with her mother and no one said her mother, Mona Harris, had a boyfrend. She left for work at 7 am and returned home at 7 pm so she worked long hours.

Hannah's obituary said Hannah is the daughter of Jeff Truelove and Mona Harris of Gainesville. Hannah is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Charles Harris.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her brother, Clint Truelove; sister, Jessica Truelove; paternal grandparents, Charles and Peggy Truelove; maternal grandmother, June Harris.

A GBI medical examiner conducted the autopsy on Truelove and a GBI specialist assisted in the weekend investigation. The GBI assisted in the search for Jorelys’ Rivera, a seven-year-old Canton girl who disappeared while she was playing outside her large apartment complex. Jorelys lived with her mother, her mother's coworker, and her younger sister. Her convicted killer Ryan Brunn, 20, was a maintenance man who had lived and worked at the complex for about one month before he committed this crime. Brunn stole one of Jorelys’ roller skates and planted it in a vacant apartment, took a picture of her skate on his cell phone and used it to lure her into the vacant apartment. There he had her perform two sex acts on herself before he freaked and slit her throat with a razor blade. Brunn received a life sentence without parole and two days into his prison sentence, Brunn hung himself with his sweatshirt. More details about this crime are in the link provided below.

LE never said they were going to interview the RSOs who lived near Hannah so I doubt she was sexually assaulted.

When Police first asked for assistance in this case, the press release said Hannah was last seen at the Lake Lanier Club Apartments Thursday morning!

Hannah was found in a heavily wooded area a quarter mile away on the resort`s shoreline. Nanette Sosa, reporter at All News 106.7 said the community is large and
Sgt Wilbanks said many residents and visitors walk the path which is accessible from water.

If this is true, why wasn’t Hannah’s body discovered before 7 pm on Friday?

BBM I wondered this also. I looked through the articles for anything that would suggest she does. Could not find anything.

Wonder if the mother works 9-10 hour days 4 days/week, or if there is something she does after work -- visits a BF, runs errands, takes exercise or college classes, etc. -- on certain days of the week. Did Hannah get her own meals or did they eat a late dinner? Were her brother and sister still living at home?

Just thinking that Hannah's killer may have known the family's schedule. Since the last time she was seen was at 7:30 p.m. and her mother typically got home, according to JT, between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m., Hannah must have gone into the woods shortly before her mother arrived home.

Hannah wouldn't need a key to the apartment to lock the door behind her in the morning if the doors could be locked from the inside. My doors work this way.

There was something that made me wonder. I think it was in the transcription of the 911 call. I don't remember specifically, but I think she said "we". Doesn't mean she had one, just curious.

Somewhere, I also read a post by a woman who lives at the same complex. She stated her hub was walking the dog one night, and got an eyeful as he was passing by HT's bedroom window. Anyone else see it? That always worried me, given her stalker tweet.

With a deadlock you would need a key, most apartments have one.

Hi folks, saw this case on the news but just started reading here tonight. Sad this young girl met such a tragic end. One thing that stands out for me is the apt. key. I just cannot understand why a 16 year old dgt would not have a key to her home. Something just does not feel right with that statement. Hope more will be released by LE soon.

JT said his daughter had a boyfriend in the neighborhood so maybe Hannah went into the woods to meet him when her mother returned home from work but I'm sure LE would have interviewed him and checked out his alibi by now.

Based on what Hanna’s mother told the 911 operator, I believe Hannah was sitting outside Thursday evening at 7:30 pm because Hannah had been avoiding her mother for a week. Her mother didn’t go into her bedroom to talk to her before she left for work so there’s a chance she yelled at her. She didn’t say what she said to her daughter but Hannah was likely lying in bed when her mother “talked” to her before she abruptly left for work.

Maybe the breakup Hannah was tweeting about was between her mother and father? Hannah’s mother goes by her maiden name and they've never been called husband and wife so I don’t think they were married and divorced. Hannah has a sister and brother whose last names are Truelove but I don’t know how old they are and whether they are living with Jeff Truelove.

At the start of her show, NG said Hannah was both a junior and sophomore at high school. TMK, a junior is a first year student and a sophomore is a second year student.

Students transitioning from junior high to high school sometimes undergo an initiation by the older students but would they stalk a student at their home?

to me the way mom sounded whenever she told the dad HT probably was just with friends. she'd call him when they found her. the mom was trying to convince herself that's all it was...sadly it wasn't but i wouldn't be too hard on mom in this case.

Family members are always LE’s prime suspects. If I knew Mona Harris was cooperating with the police and asked to take a polygraph so police could focus on her real killer like Mark Klassen did, I would cut her some slack but how can she not be a prime suspect? She arrived home around the time
her daughter was last seen sitting outside and they weren’t getting along and she called Hannah's dad at 9 pm to tell him Hannah was missing already.

Her mother wasn’t living a "balanced lifestyle" She wouldn't allow her daughter to have a cell phone and for a teenage girl, that would be heartbreaking.

Hannah's mother apparently didn't touch base with her daughter throughout the day and ask her how she was and how things were going. After she left for work, she forgot about her daughter and I don’t think she supported her daughter and “was on her side”.

Mona called Hannah’s father at 9 pm and she didn’t tell him or the 911 operator if her daughter came into their apartment after she arrived home or that she saw her sitting at the picnic table when she came home from work which is very strange. Hannah was last seen at 7:30 by witnesses but afaik, no one saw her leave and no one saw her mother talking to her outside.

Someone there talks about the gate being "broke" frequently.

It's really unfortunate there were no surveillance cameras on the grounds. If it was mandatory for apartment buildings to have surveillance cameras, it would help cut down on crimes and help LE solve crimes alot quicker.

In Georgia, this would mean that Hannah was talking some 10th grade classes and some 11th grade classes. This means she was either repeating 10th grade classes that she did not pass or in an advanced program where she earned credits early. For example, some junior high school 8th graders could earn math credits at the high school level.

Since Hannah’s father saw scratches on his daughter’s face when he identified her body, her killer may have beaten her with his or her bare hands.

Would beating a person with your hands leave visible cuts or marks on your hands? At the very least, shouldn't the killerh's hands be inflamed and swollen for a few days?

Since Hannah was beaten, she may have still been alive when the killer fled the scene.

Hannah's mother called 911 at 10 pm and I wonder when LE arrived at her apartment? Jeff Truelove said he called Hannah's mother every hour to see if his daughter was home but we don't know what time LE went to their apartment complex. I haven't listened to the 911 call and couldn't find it.
