Sheriff: search underway in Justin Gaines case
DACULA, Ga.
Gwinnett County sheriffs deputies spent Thursday digging up an old well, following up on a tip about the disappearance of a Gwinnett teen more than six years ago.
Justin Gaines was last seen leaving Wild Bills nightclub in Duluth in November 2007.
Investigators said they were following up on a tip that brought them to an old well off of Highway 316 outside of Dacula.
Channel 2s Tony Thomas spoke to investigators at the scene, who said so far they have not found anything.

Gaines was last seen in November 2007 in front of Wild Bill's nightclub in Duluth. Surveillance video showed him shaking hands with two friends then walking away.
In the living room of her Gwinnett County home, Erika Wilson has a set of photographs carefully arranged on the mantel above the fireplace.
The photos are of her son Justin Gaines, who disappeared seven years ago on Nov. 2.
"I miss his smile. I miss his blue eyes. I don't have him walking in the door, so it's nice to be able to look at him, Wilson said.

Sheriff Butch Conway says he feels different about this one. He says a person believed to have been involved in the death of Gaines led them to the property.
