How would a 20 month old climb out of a playpen on his own? Le need to see if there is anything in the playpen to stand and climb out of. I don’t see this happening by himself and wandering off. Moo
As well, how he managed to leave the home. Could he even reach the door handles? Did he know how to open the door?

JMO

"Chatham County Police say they don't believe there was any foul play involved and hope Quinton is still alive."

This is entirely not directed at you, @sasha17, I know you're just quoting, but what the heck does LE believe happened, then? Baby stepped out for a pack of smokes and decided not to come back? Ridiculous.

I’ve followed a lot of cases where LE makes a statement early on stating no foul play is suspected. At this point, nothing good would come from LE making that statement. IMO they suspect foul play.
I agree, the minute LE suggests foul play, "some" people may stop talking and cooperating.

The presence of the FBI strongly suggests to me - foul play.

JMO

I mean, foul play is pretty much the only thing that could be in the cards at this point. No other statistically probable cause for his disappearance exists. LE can't realistically assume otherwise.

JMO.
It was revealed today, that the FBI is now involved. I noted it wasn't the CARD Team that was sent in. That should tell us something. Other than the possibility of an abduction- if he did leave the house on his own steam. At 20 months, he would have been found by now, IMO.

As a mother with a missing baby, the last thing I would think to do is be courteous enough to text my babysitter to tell her she wasn't needed. I'd probably want her to take the other children that day so they didn't have to be exposed to the trauma of the situation.
Just to clarify, the text at 5:29 am was to tell the sitter she wouldn’t be watching the kids that day. According to msm the boyfriend saw Quinton at 6 am when he left for work.

Around 9 am the mother woke up and discovered Quinton was missing. At 9:39 she called 911.

If grandma had custody, and she does not trust the mothers care and wants to evict the mother, it does not explain why grandma was working out of town for 3 weeks. The babysitter clearly was not there for overnights. Working away from home for weeks when caring for 2 kids under 3 is something. I know there were other adults, but it does point to trusting the mother at least a little to care for the kids.I wonder what grandma was planning for childcare once the daughter was evicted, or whether working away for 3 weeks was not typical and she just did it this one time.
3 kids under 3.. is hard no matter who you are .. but being involved in drugs and having issues with lying I would not let my child alone with the babies..

This is one of the quietest missing child cases I have seen.
The urgency has already passed.
Here we sit.
That's because (I'm convinced) it's a homicide investigation, and that's how they go.

Lots of missing kids wander off, and those cases are handled with massive search parties. This felt different immediately, just based on the response, and the agencies involved.

I believe homicide as well.
Most cases that end up that way, it seems there is that facade of concern, you know?
Not much here from immediate family.

Sorry to parachute in, could someone confirm
1) the mother told LE that the bio father had taken Q? Do we have the exact wording for that, if true? IE could she have said "maybe biofather took him"? Yes I know that bio dad was ruled out, I'm just wondering if she actually blamed him outright or suggested it could be him.
2) the last confirmed sighting of Q was on Tuesday afternoon/evening when the babysitter dropped him off at his home? I mean confirmed by someone other than bio mom, boyfriend, etc. I wonder if the 3 year old could have been questioned. Sounds pretty young, but I remember "Mommy was in a rug", from the Jesse Davis case.
