LOL, I think the politest alternative term is petrified?

I'll be fine, my partner is awake now to distract me, and if we get a verdict today, I am having one drink of Bailey's, because my LDS mum and housemate have left for work.

Love your response! Hugs to your partner, I am sure they understands you well.
And I always love some of your LDS banter. I'll toast you with a glass of wine, when that guilty verdict comes in!

The Daybell case was my first to begin and finish. We always remember our firsts...in life, as well as websleuths.
But , I just fell smack in love with this adorable child, and still feel such pain. It's a shame he looked so much like her though she blames her quick and easy sperm doner all the time.
Mine was Teghan Skiba. I’ll never forget it. And speaking of emotion in a trial, Teghan’s murderer lost an appeal in 2023. Among a series of minor trial errors there were complaints about some of the emotional testimony.

Nevertheless the court upheld the conviction and the murderer remains on death row. This was in North Carolina so Georgia could be different. But if convicted IMO it will take one heck of a trial error to get Leilani off the hook. JMO

Long enough to discuss and eww over the snotty-ness that is LS, and then to 'Rock-Paper-Scissors' to pick a foreperson.

I think just based on the nineteen charges, this is going to take a while.
Yeah, they have to go through them all one by one... And if anyone has any doubts whatsoever, they’ll need to discuss that at length as a group. The trial I served on was pretty cut and dry, but we still said IF there were any doubts, what part of the story was possibly lacking in evidence, and used a wipe off board to make flow charts in order to lay out and deliberate any other possibilities etc. MOO

Anyone else waiting on the Menendez brothers decision?

ETA: just announced the brothers should be resentenced.

Every time I've followed a murdered child case, I say to myself that I'm not going to do it again. I say this every time but here I am. I've followed a lot of murdered children and they always stay with you.

They are also wanting to break for the evening.

My partner said Dean's face was hilarious, I missed it because I was typing.

Boo, jury excused until morning.

They're going to be given twelve copies tomorrow so they don't mark up the court copy.

Jury is getting sent home, have to report at 9am.

Alternates also sent home, don't have to report but have to remain on call in case they need them.

So, they stopped deliberations at maybe 5:05pm?

So they went for about one hour and fifty minutes.

my thoughts exactly. I've tried hard to stay away from them...and most I do.
But today
The trial of 10 year old Sara Sharif in the UK has just ripped me up... unbearable cruelty.
