A lengthy pause in Georgia's longest criminal trial ever could soon end — if Judge Shukura Ingram wants it to.

The former prosecutor, who is nearing the end of her first six-year term, was tapped to oversee the YSL RICO trial on Monday after Judge Ural Glanville was ordered off the case.

Now, Ingram must decide if and how the case involving the rapper Young , also known as Jeffrey Williams, and several co-defendants should proceed.

Judge Shukura Ingram has recused from the YSL/Young case over the incident involving Christian Eppinger and a courthouse deputy.Ingram said the deputy arrested was responsible and assigned to her courtroom for six months.

Judge Paige Reese Whitaker has been assigned to handle the case. Whitaker is a former Fulton County prosecutor, who also worked at the state Attorney General’s Office. She has been a judge in Fulton County since 2017.

Ingram said because her courthouse deputy had a romantic relationship with a co-defendant in the case, Christian Eppinger, it could create an “appearance of impropriety.” She issued an order on Wednesday recusing herself and asking that the case be reassigned.
