Next witness is Wykethia Brock, Kenneth Copeland's sister.
She has been excused and the state's next witness is Emmett Yarbourgh, a City of Atlanta employee that collects trash and shooting victim in 2015.
Yarbourgh's daughter was dating or hanging out with Kenneth Copeland.
Yarbourgh is done. The state's next witness is Janice Merriweather.
Merriweather was brought into the courtroom and taken to the stand by Kenneth Copeland.
Merriweather mentioned that her son had been killed but Whitaker told the jury to disregard that since it has nothing to do with the YSL case.
Next witness is Ashley Edwards, she was formerly Ashley Clay and used to work for APD as a Zone 3 officer. She left law enforcement in 2016.
Next witness is Renee G. Charleston, former APD employee who worked on the crime scene unit. She retired from law enforcement in 2017.
Charleston is the ninth witness to take the stand today before noon, which I don't think the state has ever done. The witnesses haven't spend a lot of time on the stand mainly because there has been no cross-examination by defense attorneys.
Yesterday, after the jury was dismissed, Judge Whitaker commended the state for their efficient witness day.
Charleston is done. Lunch break for jurors until 1:15 p.m., while attorneys and defendants have until 12:45 p.m.Although they went through nine witnesses before noon, Whitaker wasn't happy about the pace.
