Letter from Martinez Arnold aka Lil Duke's attorney to Prosecutor Love basically warning the state against issuing an "improper material witness warrant" for her client's testimony.
@AshleighMerchan says her client will testify as part of his plea but will not speak to the state ahead of his testimony as they had their opportunity at his plea hearing. In Dec. 2022, Arnold pleaded guilty to 1 count of Conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corruption Act. He received 1 year of time served with 9 years of probation. As part of the deal Arnold will testify “truthfully” if asked to at trial but reserves the right to invoke the Fifth. He was not required to acknowledge that YSL is a gang.

This is #YSL defendant Rodalius Ryan aka Lil Rod. He is already serving a life sentence for murder of 15-yr-old Jamari Holmes when Ryan was 15-years-old himself. He's charged with 1 count of conspiracy to violate RICO in this trial. Today has consisted of arguments over admissibility of IG posts/messages involving Ryan.

During jury selection last year, Ryan was pulled out of the #YSL courtroom and searched in the back. We heard loud screaming from him in the back. Then this bodycam footage was released showing what happened. (See link) Seemed to be an overreaction by Ryan knowing they were about to find weed in his underwear.

Judge Whitaker is on the bench but there is a juror that hasn’t arrived to the courthouse yet so they are waiting for them to arrive before they continue with testimony.

Juror has arrived. Adam Abbate, Chief Deputy District Attorney, for the Major Crimes Division is on the prosecution’s table this morning.

Special agent Burney is back on the stand to finish his testimony.

Correction on the name, it's actually Special Agent James Berni.

One of the other inmates who was involved in the bribes cooperated and reported the officer.

Fulton County has released their mugshots : Jermiyah Huey (left ) and Malissa Huey (right) .

Judge Whitaker is back on the bench as attorneys argue over some evidence.Chief Deputy DA Adriane Love is back on the state’s table.

APD Sgt. Michael Jones is the state’s next witness, with Love questioning him.

Chief Deputy Adam Abbate is also on the state’s table.Jones testimony is done. Whitaker made a comment about the witnesses supposed to be passing each other.Next witness is APD officer H. King.

Next witness is Summer Goode, an ex-girlfriend of Quindarrius Zachary.

Abbate is questioning Goode and Young ’s attorney Keith Adams has already objected to some of his questioning.

Next witness is APD officer Cesar Fernandez. It appears the state has decided to go through witness at a faster pace than usual. It's not even 11 a.m. and we are already on the fourth witness of the day.

Next witness is Wykethia Brock, Kenneth Copeland's sister.

She has been excused and the state's next witness is Emmett Yarbourgh, a City of Atlanta employee that collects trash and shooting victim in 2015.

Yarbourgh's daughter was dating or hanging out with Kenneth Copeland.

Yarbourgh is done. The state's next witness is Janice Merriweather.

Merriweather was brought into the courtroom and taken to the stand by Kenneth Copeland.

Merriweather mentioned that her son had been killed but Whitaker told the jury to disregard that since it has nothing to do with the YSL case.

Next witness is Ashley Edwards, she was formerly Ashley Clay and used to work for APD as a Zone 3 officer. She left law enforcement in 2016.

Next witness is Renee G. Charleston, former APD employee who worked on the crime scene unit. She retired from law enforcement in 2017.

Charleston is the ninth witness to take the stand today before noon, which I don't think the state has ever done. The witnesses haven't spend a lot of time on the stand mainly because there has been no cross-examination by defense attorneys.

Yesterday, after the jury was dismissed, Judge Whitaker commended the state for their efficient witness day.

Charleston is done. Lunch break for jurors until 1:15 p.m., while attorneys and defendants have until 12:45 p.m.Although they went through nine witnesses before noon, Whitaker wasn't happy about the pace.

Next witness is Rodney Sturkey, who lived at a home where a shooting occurred on Jan. 13, 2015.

Before leaving the stand, Sturkey said "they" came to his job and threatened to lock him up if he didn't testify.

Next witness is Sandy Springs Police officer William Nelson.
