Praying they find whoever did this horrific thing! I'm just now reading up on this case in shock and horror that whoever did this to these poor people are still out there! Prayers for the family that they get some answers soon.

I am a believer, Foxfire! I have experienced evil in my life but have also experienced the angels among us...hence the moniker. And you are so right... I really do have a lot of reading to catch up on!

Unbelievable. It's been nearly a near since this dear old couples' horrific murders and there have been no arrests? What a damn shame, IMO.

Sonya610, thanx for sharing your ideas and keeping the discussion going. All theories are welcomed. Imo, awareness is very important to increase the probability of justice for the Dermonds and their family. In a chat discussion which followed a local media investigative report a few months ago. Sheriff Howard Sills chimed in and shared some new info concerning suspicious activity on the Dermond's security alarm system two weeks prior to their murders.
Imo, the Dermond abduction/decapitation/murders were very well planned and executed with precision, culminating with the exact results intended by the perp/s... jmo

Guess we all have different theories on the seemingly cold case of the Dermond abduction/decapitation/murders, dancinunderthemoon.
Ironically, I spent the day yesterday at the GPSTC in Forsyth, GA, attending a GA Smoke Divers reunion<The Georgia Public Safety Training Center is a comprehensive training complex for use by Georgia state and local public safety related government units>. Many of the GSD members in attendance were from counties adjacent to Putnam; Rockdale, Jasper, etc. Had a couple of interesting conversations about the Dermond murders with a few firefighters from the Putnam county surrounding areas. One of the firefighters doubles as an investigator for one of the adjacent counties and said that he felt that it was very well planned..

Clearly! And who would be so familiar with the Dermond couple, that it would look like nothing was disturbed, putting things in it's proper order and no one saw or suspected a THING

Things happen and by someone that NO ONE would EVER IN A MILLION YEARS SUSPECT, look at the Runion case, people knew that boy all their life, maybe got into a little mischief as a kid but nothing that would have made anyone see a red flag towards the suspect (so far as I know or has been posted)

Don't know if this has been posted, but on March 16, 2015, ownership of the Dermond home located at 147 Carolyn Drive, Eatonton, Georgia valued at $1,043,094, was transferred by Keith B. Dermond and Bradley R. Dermond, co-executors of both the LW&T of Russell J. Dermond and Shirley W. Dermond. The property is now owned by Keith B. Dermond, Bradley R. Dermond and Leslie D. Patton.
Just a matter of public record I thought was interesting, and the only info related to the Dermond murders I have heard in months. I do not feel that the children have anything to do with the murders at all. Hope they arrest the "wolves in sheep's clothing" responsible soon, but doubtful.

Still, the body has given them potentially significant evidence that can be checked against a suspect when one is found.

Perhaps killer/killers wanted to frame Mrs Dermond, like she is gone- husband dead - she must have done it.
They have 'Significant evidence that can be checked against suspect'.
if they have suspect's DNA, it makes more likely case will be solved.

The deaths of Russell and Shirley Dermond, who were killed in a particularly grisly &#8212; and unsolved &#8212; homicide, sent shock waves throughout their gated community on Lake Oconee that became national news.

Putnam County sheriff&#8217;s officials have said the headless body of Russell Dermond, 88, was found inside the couple&#8217;s lakefront home in early May. The body of Shirley Dermond, 87, was later pulled from Lake Oconee. Investigators haven&#8217;t yet announced a potential motive in their deaths.

He is defeated. Where else to look? Clearly hasn't looked in the right place or either OVER looked something unless it was drug/robbery which I doubt, I just dont' think they'd behead, take the head and move her miles from home. And does anyone know if anything was missing yet? I suppose if it wasn't a large withdrawal in the bank or some heirloom of great value, no one would miss it, all the kids lived out of state IIRC

Yes, it is for sale, dancinunderthemoon. If my memory is correct, the Dermond's home was originally listed for over $750,00.00 in 2014.
