I think when spoken it may sound like that but I think he was saying Laken. How could they say her name is Lakeland? I am frustrated that twice the UGA chief of police misspoke her name.
I am too. She was a productive member of society, just doing her life - disgusting!! I am thankful that Georgia has the death penalty.I'm so mad.

I listened to the press conference (started it a little late) and I never heard anything about SA. No questions were asked about that, either. So no SA… just a random murder? Or perhaps she fought back and he decided to just kill her when he couldn’t continue an SA?
"OCGA Aggravated Assault. Aggravated assault in Georgia is defined as being an assault with the intent to murder, rape, or rob another person."So no SA… just a random murder? Or perhaps she fought back and he decided to just kill her when he couldn’t continue an SA?
From presser: video, technology led LE to suspect. Not sure where he is from, but might be Venezuela.
I wondered the same thing.Since he's charged with hindering a 911 call, I wonder if Laken called 911 before/during assault??? Just thinking aloud.

They need to do investigations in places where he's been previously, to find out if there are any unsolved murders there.Crime of opportunity, suspect does have a criminal history but not a history of violence crimes. They are still gathering information.
