IMO, George brought all of this on himself. He has anger issues. He was 28 years old. Trayvon was 17. Teenagers do not think like adults. George was the grown up in this situation, so I'll save my compassion for the victim - TM.

And as far as any misdeeds by Trayvon (smoking pot, etc), I was quite an unruly teenager as well. My mother barely survived LOL. I am a law abiding member of society, college educated and working at a federal law enforcement agency. George had issues though, as an adult. Something like this was bound to happen sooner or later, IMO.

I guess we'll have to disagree on all of that. I do not see TM as a victim in any way. imo

Just WOW. Please, someone explain to me how you can have a bloody head, and cleaned up photos of yourself that show multiple abrasions ALL OVER your face, and still have the people in the general public question whether or not you were punched repeatedly, or beaten up? I am trying to understand this logic, but it's absolutely inconceivable to me.

This is pretty basic evidence. I believe that asserting anything otherwise, is like saying the sky is brown.

Now, I clearly understand the definition of reasonable.

IMO

IMO, his story on how he was being beat up doesn't match the injuries he sustained.. MY OPINION here and not fact. He could have also gotten some of those head injuries from the pavement when he told the police he was trying to wiggle his way out from under TM. Having his head pounded 25-30 times (police statement) in the pavement, well, he would be unable to get up and walk around and talk to the police the way he did. They would have taken him to the emergency as well. As far as his face, I see a bit of blood under his nose, nothing more than that compared to him telling the police he was being pounded on and felt like TM had something in his hands when he was punching him. :twocents:

This is horrible to listen to, IMO. TM definitely suffered. Probably knew that no one was going to help him or comfort him in his last moments. (IMO)

IMO I seriously doubt if he had time to ponder his own death or think about wanting help etc.... He likely realized he was shot, realized that meant he would have to stop the attack, and then quickly lost consciousness before he had time to think about anything else. I also suspect he may not even have felt any pain.

The likelyhood of him realizing (especially at 17) that he was fatally shot seemed very very far fetched IMO.

PLEASE GO BACK AND LOOK AT YOUR POSTS ON THIS THREAD.

ADD, "IN MY OPINION" TO ANY POST BELONGING TO YOU THAT DOES NOT STATE AN ABSOLUTE FACT OR DOES NOT PROVIDE A LINK TO BACK UP WHAT YOU POSTED.

PRETTY PLEASE DO THIS TODAY OK?

Thank you,
Tricia

bumping in case you missed it.... :fence:

With all due respect, there is no evidence that GZ suffered side effects from any of the legally prescribed meds he was taking. If it comes into evidence in the future, I stand corrected. All IMO.

There's no evidence that he was even taking them at the time. Also, if the symptoms he experienced were due to drugs, he would have had them prior to his injuries. There's no evidence of that, either. Not to mention that not everyone has any or all of possible side effects from any medication. jmo

eta: I see you mentioned the last point in your post. Sorry! :)

I suggest listening to the current witness then, who has a wealth of experience. He's explaining the injuring pretty well and how they are caused.

I agree and would like to add that the U.S. government estimates that 100 million citizens have used marijuana at least once. (See chart, numbers are in the thousands http://www.oas.samhsa.gov/NSDUH/2K8NSDUH/tabs/Sect1peTabs1to46.htm#Tab1.1A ) I haven't but I am sure Trayvon was in good company.

If you get in a fist fight the degree this one was described, your hands get beat up, bruised and sometimes broken. This witness is not even close in his testimony. IMO

GZ has no proof of internal injury to his skull or his brain. There was absolutely no medical documentation of a concussion. That is a fact.

and that fact doesn't matter, according to florida law he didn't even have to have any injury at all to be able to defend himself if he was in fear of imminent bodily harm/death

thank you so much for posting this. i couldn't agree more. I know if this happened in my neighborhood, everyone would be out there in a second trying to help/stop the fight. it's a very sad commentary on how far our society has declined when not everyone is willing to help their neighbor.

Could be they're afraid of getting shot, IMO.

Definition of the word victim:
vic·tim (vktm)
n.
1. One who is harmed or killed by another: a victim of a mugging.
2. A living creature slain and offered as a sacrifice during a religious rite.
3. One who is harmed by or made to suffer from an act, circumstance, agency, or condition: victims of war.
4. A person who suffers injury, loss, or death as a result of a voluntary undertaking: You are a victim of your own scheming.
5. A person who is tricked, swindled, or taken advantage of: the victim of a cruel hoax.

Trayvon Benjamin Martin was most certainly a victim

Especially when you consider that he went a considerable distance to the 7-11, IMO.

But he does not mention it until he was already in the complex already saw GZ before and Lost him..

I don't think that means the same thing.. Maybe if he said it when he first saw GZ.. But to me once he runs and loses him, HE says. I AM AT THE BACK OF MY DADDY's HOUSE to RJ.

That is what it means..

OMO

If GZ was "Stunned" he was perfectly able to grab his gun, point it to TM's heart and shoot to kill. IMO, he was not suffering from brain trauma at all. IMO

IMO GZ would have had brain trauma or worse had he not shot TM when he did.

With all due respect, there is no evidence that GZ suffered side effects from any of the legally prescribed meds he was taking. If it comes into evidence in the future, I stand corrected. All IMO.

By your logic, then the same could be said about any side effects from the THC in TM's system. Everyone reacts differently to legal or illegal drugs - IMO.

I guess 'don't shoot the messenger' doesn't apply in here.

The level of pettiness from some is mind-boggling. IMO

eta: I see you mentioned the last point in your post. Sorry! :)

Links to his various medications and their common side effects and standard precautions (such as not driving) via publicly released medical reports after the incident are in my previous posts. GZ does not deny taking multiple medications. What is not evident is how they affect him as that is self reported.

What I say in this post is my opinion only.

I still have questions as to why GZ was even carrying a gun that night. Sure he had a permit, but I know many people who have conceal & carry permits. They don't carry unless they have a specific purpose in mind. A gun should never be carried unless you have specific plans for using it & I can't see any reason carrying one for a trip to Target.

Respectfully snipped...

I believe that many people who have concealed weapons use them all of the time, not just in certain situations. They would likely tell you that you cannot predict danger. The purpose of protecting yourself is to be ready in any circumstance (bank robbery, store hold-up, etc). A crime could occur anywhere even in Target.

Ironically, even though I am in agreement that George used self defense legally on that evening, I have serious issues with the gun laws in our country. My opinion only... The more guns on the street, the more chance of violence and death. I most definitely don't want to have that discussion on this thread as it would not be appropriate. I'm only pointing it out to use as an example that you can have a personal opinion about something, yet still support and acknowledge the existing laws.

If we are talking about the letter of the law, George acted within his right to use his gun if you believe his account of the details that evening.

IMO

...or anything else in TM's system. Is there a full toxicology report? I would like to know if any other drugs were found. The information is out there, you just have to know where to look.

you know, it is really shocking to me the amount of people who do not think george was beaten up. There is photographic EVIDENCE! That is down right scary. IMO people are not looking at the facts of the case. I sure as heck hope this is not decided on the publics emotion. It's frightening that the case was even brought to trial simply due to public demand....doesn't that scare anyone here? my goodness.
