Agreed. I have said this many times. It was a stupid thing to do.
Yes it was and George made a poor choice as well.

I think they both acted out of their own prejudices and learned behaviors. They are both complicit in the incident.
There are certain things in life that are (or should be) just understood.
Respect for a court of law SHOULD be on that list.
I would pass out if my daughter EVER spoke to anyone in that way.
Well, she's not a professional. She's a very young woman who's been through a horrific event.
Wow! I also feel she was very disrespectful. To be a credible witness answer the questions clearly and concisely without muttering and eye rolling. At the end she implied that she would not be coming the next day -- that she was leaving. She even said some comment to the attorney about not wanting to come back to talk to him. Where does she think she is?
I don't see how the state will ever prove without a reasonable doubt that GZ committed murder and was not acting in self defense.
Especially when you look at the GZ injury photos.

lol thanks! I actually fault the prosecution more than I fault her. They didn't really prep her well enough for testifying IMO. I'm just glad I'm not on this jury lol I feel conflicted enough
Racial slurs are humorous? Then why is Paula Deen out of a job? The double standard here is outrageous. JMO, OMO, MOO.

This is the most controversial and hardest case I have ever watched. To me both GZ and TM are at fault for this sad and tragic loss. A lawyer on one of the shows on HLN said something that made perfect sense and gave me clarity about the events of that night. Both GZ and TM approached this night with prejudgments of the other person and with cultural differences. GZ saw TM as a suspicious troublemaker and TM saw GZ as a no good whatever, wanting to harass him. Neither one were going to just back off and walk away from each other. GZ was determined to find out what TM was up to and TM was determined to not let GZ get away with what TM perceived as harassment. Because of both of their poor judgements TM wound up dead and to me they are equally at fault. The problem lies in how do you punish someone who is still living against someone who ended up dead. I do not know the answer to that question and probably never will.

1. Totally agree with this.......
2. How much do you punish someone who was clearly trying to save their own life and did not want to kill anyone?
The answer is you don't.

I am the parent of 2 - college (early 20's) and a high school teacher. So I have been around many, many young people. They pretty much act the way you expect/require them to act. I do not buy the "that's just how teenagers talk these days" excuse. It reminds me of that awful phrase "boys will be boys" which I have always hated. Obviously, from reading here - my standard is in the minority
With all due respect, I'd ask specifically where you think they differ. All I got from your post was a side-by-side of both of them and you said essentially, "Look, they're different."Sorry but I disagree. I see nothing that can be blamed on "fog" (and I heard more than enough of THAT word in another trial). What I see is a man that shot and killed an unarmed young man and is trying to minimize his actions that look very bad for him.
If you disagree with my opinion that is fine and I encourage you to take them piece by piece yourself (the non emergency call and the walk through) and show us how they are alike. I would be interested in specific examples like I gave instead of a broad stroke as to they seem the same. Thank you in advance.
Jodi wasn't either and yet Travis is dead and so is Trayvon.
But those injury photos are misleading, IMO. Zimmerman did not require any bandages, suture tape, butterfly bandage or sutures the night of the shooting. The bleeding had stopped before he even arrived at the police station. I see no serious injuries that proof Zimmerman's claims of a broken nose or having his head banged on a concrete sidewalk repeatedly.
