Suggested by a lot of WS members who do not believe GZ is telling the entire truth. Suggested by others who don't believe his injuries match GZ's story that he was punched 30 times and had his head beaten into the concrete. Suggested by others here who have seen the autopsy report and there are no cuts to Trayvon's hands.

IMO - GZ's injuries do not match his story. The smothering, lack of blood, injuries gone the next day, concrete not even being close to the "fight", GZ stating he went down on the first punch etc... I could go on for days but haven't had enough coffee. :facepalm:

We all have different views and it's ok to respectfully disagree. IMO

I place a lot more importance in the opinion of the investigating detective than anyone else. so should the jurors. despite any orders to the contrary.

Actually there is eye witness testimony that puts TM on top of GZ beating him. That is not from GZ but testimony from a bystander.

So there is proof that TM beat GZ in some way. He did not have the injuries before the encounter and after he does.

That is proof OMO.

There are eye witnesses who have testified to GZ being on top of Trayvon. Isn't that proof too? Trayvon may have been trying to fend off GZ the entire time and was fighting for his life to get away from the person who was following him. Trayvon did RUN away from GZ. I see that as fear on Trayvon's part. We do know in GZ's own words, he wasn't letting this $&%)@@ Punk get away and he didn't. JMO

I still say they may have each been on top at different times. JMO

These discussions are getting heated again. Both sides are equally passionate. The evidence so far supports self defense. Hope the jurors base their vote on the facts and not emotions/race/political pressure.

Exactly. Going just on emotion.. If we just decided guilt based on feeling, I could swing to guilty.. but that is not what we do here in America. We put someone on trial so that we can bring forth evidence to prove they are guilty. Not just "feel" it.

I get the emotion. I feel the emotion. When I see the video of him in the 7-11 I get choked up. It is hard to watch someone's last minutes..

but I can not put GZ in jail because I feel bad for TM and his family. It has to be proven in fact. OMO

EVEN 911 can not order you to do anything. It is a liability for them as spoken from the stand.

Im sorry but your post has nothing to do with the facts in evidence. No one hands anyone a gun to shoot people. But people do have the right to shoot to defend themselves. That is the law..

I apoloogize for not being able to find the link. I've read that GZ's trainer (if that's the right word) said GZ never graduated from the punching bag and he considered him "soft". Apparently GZ was working on aerobic exercise rather than pursuing MMA training as a fighter.

It's probably best IMO he wasn't qualified.

No. What they said was that they saw someone on top and THOUGHT it was TM because GZ must have been bigger based on a picture of TM at 12 years old. One said she could not tell who was on top in the dark.

There is no clear witness evidence except the guy who came out of his house and looked right at them there. He says TM was on top. He had a clear view and was not hiding in his house.. OMO

Let me suggest that there is a significant difference in ability between an older, overweight man and a young, fit football player in terms of how well (or how quickly) this "training" will be mastered.

also how often a person fights has a lot to do with there ability in a fight.

i think we all know who fought the most.

We have, then we heard from an investigator who wanted to charge GZ but was overruled. The same investigator somehow was demoted and then he gets on the stand and says there weren't any inconsistencies. This whole case was handled poorly. TM's parents deserved a full investigation from the beginning. Not after the media got involved.

JMO but, from the number of statements given, witnesses questioned, both audio and video statements from all parties involved, it would appear this case was investigated and per Florida law as written, and the conclusions of the detectives testimony yesterday on the stand, I came away with the impression that they believed GZ's version. They were precluded from going before a grand jury with their evidence by the state's attorney office. Perhaps had they been permitted to take this case to a grand jury, we'd be in a different place right now. Again, JMO

Yes. The point is they have no weight. They can not tell you what to do and you are breaking no law by not doing what they said to do. Especially since they are not right there to see and experience what is going on.

Actually there are street signs that say, Don't walk and it is illegal to Jaywalk so yes. There are laws I would be breaking if I disobey those signs and laws.

It is not an excuse to use self defense. It is a true defense. I think too many people have tried to use it that did not really have cause to so we poo poo it but in reality so far this case seems to be backed up by evidence to support SD IMO.

I can see it. I will say again, I am open to guilty if they can prove it but they have not yet.

Not according to him. He was walking back to his car when he found TM. There is nothing to prove otherwise at this point to me. It is just supposition at this point that anything else happened.

Depends upon whom you ask actually. Miss Rachel Jeantel was only one of Trayvon Benjamin Martin's friends. Does she have a police record?
Does Zimmerman's pal Mark Osterman have a police record?
We know Zimmerman does and Martin doesn't.IMO
Rachel's manners are certainly better than those of Mark's IMO.

PS I hope they grill Osterman for at least 10 hours as they did Rachel. IMO

And some people want to be something and can not.. I wanted to do Yoga, tried and failed. So to me, just because someone took a few classes does not mean he is good at it.. OMO

IIRC, didn't GZ's doctor, or whatever you call her, say in her notes that GZ was participating in MMA for the aerobic value? When I was younger and belonged to a gym, I enjoyed weight lifting. But I never did it to build muscles or compete. I simply liked lifting weights and toning my muscles I already had. IIRC, my husband might even have suggested I punch a punching bag around for aerobics. I certainly wouldn't have ever believed I could fight anyone with toned muscles and a bit of punching bag experience.

Again, the "kid" was a high school football player, IMO someone GZ couldn't overpower OR catch in a foot race.

When is somebody going to explain why TM couldn't have run back to the apartment?

People have explained it many times! When you are being followed, you never allow the person following you know where you live..EVER! Common sense. You don't know who this person is, what they are doing, what they are capable of doing, then and later.
