Crown submission concludes

The Crown has finished its submissions to the High Court.
Mr Sofronoff said there was no evidence of a violent confrontation between Baden-Clay and his wife that led to her unintentional death.
Mr Sofronoff said Baden-Clay's case was always that he had nothing to do with his wife Allison's death.
"It is not open for the defence to raise on appeal a factual basis... which was expressly denied at trial," he said.

Judge's scathing analysis

One of the High Court judges has delivered a scathing analysis of Gerard Baden-Clay's evidence at trial.

Justice Patrick Keane AC said Baden-Clay had the opportunity to give evidence, and did not claim that he had accidentally killed his wife during a confrontation, which was later successfully argued in the Court of Appeal.

"He has had the opportunity to give the evidence, he has given the evidence, it is inconsistent with any notion at all that there was an unintended killing by him," Justice Keane said. - Melanie Petrinec@MelaniePetrinec

:hug::hug:

I agree; thank you SO much!! I'm so pleased with some of the quotes I read; it is EXACTLY right - merely an altercation would have solved NONE of BC's problems; gosh I hope this is heading where I think it will......

At least there will be an END by the end of the year; but so far, I'm LOVING these quotes! :happydance:
