Police are searching for a 14-year-old autistic boy from the U.S. who went missing in the port of Warnemünde, Germany. The boy, Aydin Brown, was last seen disembarking the Caribbean Princess on July 4, shortly after the cruise ship docked at the port, and has since disappeared. Witnesses reported that the teenager disembarked around 7 a.m.

Video footage from the port area is now being analyzed to determine the direction Aydin Brown went after leaving the ship.

According to our source, Aydin was reportedly sailing on the Caribbean Princess with his grandmother, who disembarked in the port of Warnemünde with the assistance of a Care Team.

The article also says that he is 175 cm (about 5'9") He was wearing
long dark pants, a long dark jacket and retro shoes.

They say that if he is seen to call the emergency number 110.

It is not currently known if he exited the ship alone of with his grandmother. If he left alone, they don't know how he passed the security checkpoint.

14-year-old Aydin Brown from the USA has been missing in Warnemünde since Thursday. According to police, he left the cruise ship "Caribbean Princess" in the morning and did not return for departure in the evening. The cruise ship had to leave without him. It is suspected that the teenager arranged to meet someone via messenger services before going ashore.

The main question for the police is: Where did Aydin Brown run after leaving the cruise ship? To investigate this, the relatives are being questioned further. The police are also evaluating video surveillance, following up on witnesses' information and using dogs to search for a trace in the Baltic Sea resort. According to police spokeswoman Lembke, the use of a helicopter or a search drone is also an option - but only once a search area can be narrowed down.

"The boy left the ship without permission in the morning," a police spokesman told RTL. The police have been looking for Aydin since the morning. And the child did not return to the cruise ship Caribbean Princess with the other passengers in the evening. What is particularly worrying is that the boy does not know his way around Germany at all. Therefore, he probably has no place to retreat to and no friends or relatives nearby with whom he could stay.

.....a key witness is being sought. It cannot be ruled out that the missing person has come into contact with the gaming scene in Germany, and the unknown witness is also active in this scene of computer game users.

The unknown witness is approximately 20 to 25 years old, has a slender build, and notably long hair, which was braided into a ponytail. The police hope to receive possible clues from him regarding the whereabouts of the 14-year-old. The boy left the ship on a Thursday at 7:00 am. The police have released photos of both the missing person and the witness.

Photo at link of the mysterious gamer. (I am not posting the photo itself in case he is innocent of wrongdoing.)

I think/hope if he lives locally, someone from the public will recognize him.

Its been about 24 hours. He has no money and I doubt he knows German. He has to have shelter, water, and food from somewhere. I wonder if he agreed to meet up with someone from a gaming community. Maybe he chatted and mentioned he would be stopping there for a cruise and there was an agreement to meet up or stay even for a few days. It is possible whoever he met up with doesn't even know he is really missing.

The gamer might not realize AB is actually a missing person but surely he realizes the kid is an American and underage. What is going on?

missing teen, germany, Aydin Brown

Police are also searching for a witness who may have seen the boy on the morning of his disappearance. The witness is described by police as between 20 and 25 years old. His stature is slim and he has long hair which was braided into a ponytail.

The witness is asked to urgently report to the criminal investigation department in Rostock.

The witness is believed to have seen the missing teen at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the train station in Warnemünde, police said

The Warnemünde train station is just one-quarter mile from the cruise port, and easy walk of just a few minutes.

Caribbean Princess is currently sailing a 12-night sailing roundtrip from Southampton, UK. The ship departed on Sunday, June 30, and has already called at two ports in Denmark.

While Caribbean Princess departed Warnemünde on schedule, Brown’s grandmother reportedly remained behind in the city to stay in touch with authorities. It is unclear whether other family members are also traveling on the cruise.

The 112,894-gross-ton, Grand-class ship can welcome 3,142 passengers on each sailing and is also home to approximately 1,200 international crew members. Caribbean Princess is now continuing on to ports in Sweden, Lithuania, and Norway before she is scheduled to return to Southampton on July 12.

No other cruise ships were docked in Warnemünde on Thursday, July 4.

I wonder if the other older gamer does not realize Aydin is 14 y/o? Perhaps Aydin communicated with this person online gaming and told him he was in his early 20's and planned to meet up. I doubt an adult gamer (unless a pedo) would be ok meeting a kid this age.
The argument with his grandmother may have been from her not allowing him to go off on his own ashore.
MOO. just speculating.

The boy left the vessel without an escort, the statement said.

“We understand the distress this situation has caused and will continue to provide ongoing on-site support to the family during this challenging time,” Princess Cruises said.

The teen's grandmother, whom Brown was traveling with, left the ship Thursday night and is being helped by company employees in Warnemünde. Princess Cruises also arranged for his mother to fly to Germany as the search continues, the cruise line said
