That would be incredible if forensics can make that determination. How would that be acomplished?

I worked with a cop that used to go to Alley Pond Park after work and in full uniform to catch girls with guys. Threaten to take them home and tell their parents. Let us assume he kill the girl and dumps her body......who's semen is likely to be found on the body?

Then there is the classic case of Jessica Manners homicide. A young man has been sitting in jail for 25 years because his semen was found on/in the body of a 13 year old victim and he lied about it. That girl had another sample on her body and has never been identified.

In the SCPD/DA such things mean NOTHING

How about finding out how soon after the victims were killed the bodies found? I recall reading in the papers the DA made an effort to show a timeline - I thought it was confusing.

I believe I recall reading about her case in the book ultimate evil. Perhaps the pius case too. Need to pull that book off the shelf and do some reading.

There is a double murder case of 2 prostitutes that were allegedly murdered by the defendant some 20 odd years ago. Trial testimony has revealed that two other suspects are/were Suffolk County police officers. One is still in the PD with the rank of Lieutenant. The other was fired after he was caught abusing females. He would regularly call the woman and make low and whispering phone call threatening to rape and kill them. He did this countless numbers of times over a period of years.
When the police arrested him they did a search warrant of his home and found a number of official SCPD missing person reports. Why would anyone, including a police officer have missing person reports in their home is a mystery to me. Could it be that person wanted to keep track if someone was found dead?
Both cops are reported to have been close to Burke.

One can only hope. Suffolk county is only a step or two behind chicago in terms of corruption with law enforcement. They are just a disgrace. Spota goes to church every sunday. How can he sit there with himself?

Because going to church makes you as much a Christian as going to MacDonald's makes you a hamburger... or wearing a uniform makes you a law enforcer, may be more apt.

I spoke to a retired SCPD cop that worked with Murphy, Hart, and Burke. It wasn't pretty and IMO it would be enough tp put at least two of them in jail.

In this recent case where the jury came back with a guilty verdict I didn't see enough information in the news that would convince me he killed the two women. The DNA would have pointed me in that direction but I would have needed just a little bit more.

Some years ago I went to Hollywood at the invitation of NYPD Blue. The show brought out detectives on a regular basis, at least 3 once a month. Sit around and share your experiences. While I was there I was joined by two Brooklyn detectives. They had a case where a woman was raped and killed and had 9 different semen samples on and in her body. Gang rape, right? Wrong.

A very smart young lady that just happened to be a prostitute heard about the case and called the detectives to tell them something very strange happened with her. She had a guy that asked her to keep the used condoms of her customers and he would pay her $5.00 for each one of them. She sold him a slew of them. Just because you find semen doesn't mean the donor murdered the girl.

There was a very famous case some years ago. It was about a woman charged with murdering her children. She was married to a doofus and she screwed every guy in town. Cops had her on the radar from the getgo. Tapped her phones etc., One thing she enjoyed doing was to give her boyfriend oral sex and spit out the semen in a glass. She would then put in her husband's oatmeal the next morning. Laughed with her boyfriend how much her husband enjoyed the breakfast.

In the current case the two gals were knockdown prostitutes. They had many customers. There was a lot of semen samples found on both gals. But none of the others had their 'signatures' on the victim - the wood chips that didn't seem to exist.

So yeah the wording is a little confusing here, and doesn't say that the semen was deposited within 1/2 hour of the killing, but that the women had sex within 1/2 hour of being killed. I guess one could argue that the semen was deposited earlier and then the women had sex with someone who didn't leave semen/dna later, (which if I was a juror maybe that would be my only plausible explanation for reasonable doubt). I'm not convinced that the article clarifies what exactly the forensics expert's testimony was exactly- sexual activity separate from age of semen, or age of semen being evidence of time of sexual activity:

"But Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Robert Biancavilla said that while more than 50 suspects were tested, Mr. Bittrolff was the only one whose DNA matched what was found at both crime scenes. The bodies of both victims were discovered in wooded areas months apart more than 20 years ago. Mr. Biancavilla said a forensics expert testified that both women had sex within a half hour of dying."

There was a comment or comments made by Bittrolff after his arrest. His attorney tried to get them thrown out. The judge allowed them in. Does anyone know what those comment were?

The good news about this case is the ADA that prosecuted this case is one of the finest prosecutors in the entire criminal justice system. He is probably the best in Suffolk, for sure. But even I could be a top prosecutor in that office and I never went to law school. And that is not to take anything away from the ADA's fine reputation.

July 5, 2017, NYS Appellate Court, 2nd Department issued an opinion in the matter of The People v. Guldi. This was a highly controversial case that was followed intensely in the media and blog boards. The Court reversed part of the case on appeal - the most important part of the appeal, IMO.

The now retired judge that tried the case that was reversed was interviewed by the paper. His response was:
"BASICALLY (emph added) he got a fair trial" Is this like being a little bit pregnant.

This same judge had a case where an ATF agent testified he was at a police precinct with his witness and he saw the detective beat the living hell out of his witness. This was after the witness who came from the US attorney's office was handcuffed to the desk for the beating. I am told this same judge ruled the testimony of this veteran ATF agent was not credible. So much for the basics..

I'm just saying, I dont think the same killers of LISK killed these women. I dont believe these women were killed by Bittrolff either.
