Me to and I was saying last night I live in Florida and there were body’s found along I95 starting In August of 2022 the body’s from Broward county to Indian river county that is the treasure coast
IMO there are going to be a lot more killings that he was involved in that will eventually come out that will be before and after the GB4. Someone like RH does not stop until he is stopped MOO .

Yes and no, but more of a no.

Yes, they can look for mtDNA matches in the area and look for their offspring. Mt-DNA is passed (more-or-less) identically from mother to kids. Many mt-DNA types are rather rare and therefore easier to track. Quite some are common (though if you go for maximum precision, then a bit less common) and might not be so useful.

No, they cannot build a full family tree like you can with autosomal DNA. No combinating, therefore less info. You only know that this hair with this mt-DNA and this person with this mt-DNA have a common mothers-mothers-mothers-mothers...xN... mother. But you cannot 100% track this down to someone specific, because unlike autosomal DNA that is shared only by identical twins (and even in twins often not 100%), mt-DNA is identical in the maternal line until a spontaneous mutation happens.

Hope this made sense. All MOO.
Great post! Thank you!

I find it fascinating and astonishing that after 13 years they are apparently finding enough of something to keep them at the home for a 5th day; a storage unit overnight and into a 2nd day; and now a second storage unit. JMO
My guess is, he was an obsessive collector. That explains the 200+ guns, and 2 separate storage units.
I'll go a step further and say, they'll likely also find a horrific cache of images and videos.
We saw his search strings. Odds are pretty high he found everything he was searching for.
And most likely saved it.

And I'd love nothing more than to be completely wrong, but he's a monster, so there's that.

jmo

That is actually insane. Does he have a hoarding issue? JMO
From the “he’s a monster” link up above:

After Thursday’s arrest, investigators spent days searching the suspect’s home and found a life-sized doll in a glass case. Heuermann’s car was also key to the case, Harrison said.

“It was a very cluttered house. He was like a pack rat,” Harrison said.

Fwiw..

A body language expert revealed several red flags about the physical behavior and features of alleged Gilgo Beach murderer, Rex Heuermann, 59Credit: AP

''Body language expert Patti Wood analyzed Heuermann's mugshot and exclusively told The U.S. Sun that his eyebrows "are very expressive."

'Wood said his eyebrows are pulled toward the center of his face in a V shape.

"It makes the person look suspicious," she said. "We might make that supposition that they're evil, that there's something wrong."

The expert and author of SNAP: Making the Most of First Impressions, Body Language, and Charisma, said when you look at that type of facial expression, "your limbic system should alert you. Something's wrong. Something's wrong. This person's scary."

Wood explained that in general: "The eyebrows really show and indicate a lot of emotional state."

Research shows that the upper part of the face is under less conscious control and therefore more revealing and honest, according to Wood.

''LACK OF EMOTION

Wood also explained that the alleged killer did not address any media attention, proceeding to look ahead or down while being escorted by law enforcement.''

"He's really, really bulky," she said.

Wood continued that Heuermann's body shape was "unusual" for an alleged serial killer, given her experience.

"To be that tall and that, very bulky, and large, and for them to have those pictures where they look like every other guy — that's interesting," she said.

Wood also noted that the state of Heurmann's house, which was reportedly not kept up as well as others in the Long Island neighborhood, could reflect behavior.

Wood said it could either mean the alleged killer wanted to be noticed, or that "this is where a dark thing happened," so Heuermann attempted to "hide it."
"It's a tell that something is bad there," she said.''

I never knew about LISK until Friday! There is a series on Amazon, The Killing Season, that is a good documentary about this. It was made in 2016 so they still had no idea who was responsible. I wonder if there were two serial killers dumping bodies on that parkway?!?!?!
Yes, I thought it was very well done. Websleuths, Tricia the owner, and some members are featured in it. It's how I first found this site. A link to that A&E series is also posted on here. #1

Millions of Americans collect firearms, and some have large collections. It's no different that collecting coins, or fine wines, or matchbox cars, or whatever.
I know, but 200 seems like an absurdly large amount of firearms to have in a storage room. But people who collect are normally proud of their collections. It sounds like he kept the guns hidden away, which IMO sounds more like hoarding than a collection. JMO

He worked for another architect before starting his own company. Under that boss, he discovered his interest in dealing with building codes and the building department. Before that he was likely a college student.

I'm not seeing a boat connection or entertaining client history, but I guess we'll find out. LE seems to be turning over everything is his life now. Good.

jmo
Like you, I haven't seen anything about a boat. It was just a blinding thought as I considered other ways he might have hidden other victims. I was considering his lifestyle, him as a professional man . . . just who, what and where he is. To me, a boat makes perfect sense. -- a Blinding flash of insight or insanity. Remains to be seen.

I'm gonna be spooked if and when I read/hear he was collecting body parts or similar "tokens"... that's when collecting becomes truly sick.

I do not believe RH murdered Shannan. IF she was murdered (which I am not convinced she was) the chances of her making that 911 about the men she was with, running into two additional, possible sketchy men that night, then somehow winding up with a serial killer after all that who murders her and dumps her right in the area she was last seen in is just beyond improbable. If she was murdered, it was by one of the men she was with that night.

As for the rest - does anyone know when RH moved to his current home? My understanding is he was previously married and lived in NJ for a time. I would imagine any additional body dump sites he has would have been in the area he was actively living and knew well.

The only one of the bodies found I doubt he was involved in with was Peaches and her daughter. IMO, the daughter being involved points to the killer intimately knowing Peaches. Most likely her current or ex-partner. I just don't see a scenario in which an individual who is arranging dates with prostitutes to murder them ends up also murdering a small child. I would assume Peaches was not bringing her small daughter on these calls and if she did, I think it's more likely the killer would have simply called off the night or let her go once seeing her daughter there. The daughter was found very close to Valerie Mack's partial remains which is the hold up for me but I feel as though that's more likely a coincidence.

As for Fire Island Jane Doe, Valerie Mack and Jessica Taylor I think they could be RH victims or they could not be. Valerie Mack and Jessica Taylor were almost certainly done by the same person. Fire Island is a bit more unknown.

Did RH simply stop murdering after the bodies were found in 2010? Possibly. Seeing his victims be discovered could have spooked him and stopped him from committing any more murders.

Or...

He found a new dump site.

did you guys see this already?

Fortunately, LE was watching him closely. Based on him continuing to contact sex workers, etc., they decided the risk of him attacking someone was increasing. I wonder if they were aware of him stalking this woman?

ETA Not a good time to take a hike in the woods.

These creepy and disturbing things have been around since the 50s!? There's a huge annual car show nearby that I've been to numerous times, and I've never seen one of these disturbing creations, I'd have remembered. Well, thank you very much WS. Now everytime I come across someone whose profile says "Time Out," I'll flash back to one of these hideous things and have nightmares for a week. Might be time to change WS's penalty system to something less triggering and more grown up... just saying.
Especially creepy since someone had been leaving the "Time Out" dolls at the makeshift memorials out in Gilgo on Ocean Parkway.

I hate how many clicks I’m giving to DM and NY Post on this case, but regarding the timing of their arrest:

If they’ve been tailing him, and if the story above is true, they must have been worried that he was trolling for new victims.

I believe they knew about the encounter in Brady Park because the victim filed a police report, so there's documentation of the encounter. If he was being tailed 24/7 detectives already knew about this encounter and may have pushed up the need to arrest sooner than expected. JMO

I'm not sure that's possible. GedMatch.com does not deal with mtDNA, which is the most difficult, almost impossible to use for genealogy. I've tested myself and various family members. Autosomal DNA is what GetMatch accepts. So many, many people do NOT include trees or any genealogical information. With mtDNA, it skips around name wise, from mother to daughter, whose name changes when she marries to another daughter. Besides, I believe mtDNA is the least utilized form that genealogists use to tract their own family. Don't get me wrong -- DNA is amazing and I'm fascinated with it. I'm just not sure how feasible it would be for RH's wife's mtDNA to be used. or even her autosomal if that were available. I don't see Iceland having that many testers . . .
Yeah, I corrected my inaccurate memory.

We also don't know how he treats her. A simple request could turn into her being battered.

This is true! I know most women would definitely want their hubby to fix up the front yard and finish painting the house or would want him to hire someone to do it ASAP. Neighbors will usually start nagging you also. Shocked no one reported the front porch roof looked delipidated and unstable. That would not fly in my neighborhood.
