“Rex Heuermann was a seasonal employee at Jones Beach State Park in [the] summer of 1981 and from 3/05/82 through 10/24/84,” the department said in a statement.

Jones Beach is near Gilgo Beach. Maybe a local can tell us some more info about the beaches.

“Gilgo Beach’ suspect owned land in Upstate

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office said it is now working with the Gilgo Beach Task Force and the FBI to gather evidence in Chester County relevant to the investigation.

The sheriff’s office said its involvement in the investigation predates Heuermann’s arrest.

Interesting.

JMVHO.

Accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann allegedly had only one question for his Long Island jailkeepers as he was being processed after his arrest last week.

“Is it in the news?”

I wonder if being "in the news" polishes his ego??

Interesting in that same link:

"Meanwhile, the state Parks Department told The Post on Monday that Heuermann once worked at Jones Beach in Nassau County, LI.

“Rex Heuermann was a seasonal employee at Jones Beach State Park in [the] summer of 1981 and from 3/05/82 through 10/24/84,” the department said in a statement. “We have no further comment.”

Saw this mentioned on Reddit, couldn’t find a source link for the life of me.

I wonder how far this will go …

(To be specific, because some quoted info is getting lost, the Chester County, South Carolina’s sheriff’s office has issued a news release that they will be assisting with gathering evidence … in South Carolina.)

I have been going down a rabbit hole and looking into missing persons and unidentified persons on NamUs to see if anything stood out from mid 90s to current. This is me again thinking out loud JMO there were several people I saw on NamUs that were buried under cement in buildings who were unearthed during construction years later. RH being an architect and having access to building during construction made me start thinking wild things!! JMO maybe it’s time for bed IDK!

Anything is possible, many believe Suzanne Morphew was hidden away in similar fashion by the man she married (he doesn’t deserve title of husband).
JMO, I’m actually starting to think that maybe his occupation and office location are falsely perceived as being highly connected and actively involved with construction projects, earning him massive profits and success. When in actuality he’s small time with a few projects he crowned as architectural masterpieces after having acquired from his ability to manipulate- he’s an imposter and scammer who pretends to think highly of himself. Based just on limited info located of his outstanding income and property taxes along with pattern of personal injury lawsuits as well as investigations of business activity on property rehabs and RE losses- I’m not getting a vibe for a successful businessman who has the property or means to make someone completely disappear. I’m anxious to learn who is truly is, bring on the trial.

Very interesting, considering this sentence about upstate LE:

"The sheriff’s office said its involvement in the investigation predates Heuermann’s arrest."

Wouldn’t that make sense though — he’s been on police radar, so seems they’d be searching in every aspect of his life including locations he’s lived or frequented. I would hope and assume they’ve been in contact with other relevant LE before the arrest, gathering as much information as possible.

Or is something going over my head here?

Yes, it makes sense. But it's interesting as it is new info to us. ;)

Watching the killing season. In episode 2, a man (cannot remember his name but he provides insight) says of the GB4, the killer is a collector.

Just… wild knowing he seemingly collects guns. “Collecting” just gets me even if it wasn’t meant the way I’m taking it.

Also, did not know Maureen’s friend may have gotten a call from LISK. Highly recommend watching this for those who haven’t yet. Thanks to those who mentioned it in these threads.
That Peter guy says some interesting stuff sometimes, but some of his theories just don't work.

That the 'torso killer' was angry and 'competing' with LISK doesn't work.

You just have to look at the dates.

Most of the dismemberments happened when the GB4 weren't just not discovered yet, or not dead yet, but were in high school or even younger!

And the idea of the 'torso killer' moving partial human remains to the beach later doesn't really work, either, when you consider that some of the remains found were things like hands... which the small bones of would be impossible to find to move years after the event. Those get quickly lost and moved by small animals. We see that with Shannan, a much more recent victim - the only things they didn't find were small bones of her neck and some finger and toe bones.

I don't think there's anything to the partial remains being found some in Manorville and some at Gilgo other than the killer of these victims trying to create confusion and prevent identification. Some of these were in the mid-nineties. We're in the early days of DNA. Removing someone's head, hands, and identifying marks was still the best way to stop an identification, and we see that here. We see that with vics like Jessica Taylor, where her tattoo was mutilated in addition to head and hands missing. By putting the head and hands a distance away, he was counting on the LE in those areas being subject to jurisdictional blindness and not making the connection, and he was right. It took DNA to connect those partial remains to each other.

The Asian (possibly transgender) Doe was on the beach five to ten years, so before Maureen was killed and placed there. And couldn't have been moved there later, because otherwise their skeleton would have been disarticulated, and we know Asian Doe was clothed because that's how we know they were possibly trans. Their clothing is described as 'female'. They were, IMO, deposited there between 2000-2005ish, and remained exactly where they were left until they were found after the GB4. The idea that they were placed there later out of anger to 'mark territory' just doesn't stand up to any kind of scrutiny, IMO.

Was that Peter Brendt? He also posted here on WS.

I'd have to rewatch the episode to check, and right now, my partner's playing the Switch, so maybe? Sounded European, maybe German or Austrian to my very uneducated ear.

Don't have a problem with him having the ideas that people who profile have! Do have a problem with his timeline. The dates don't work. But there is room for everyone here at WS! :D

Hi local here. Gilgo is one of the town beaches near Robert Moses and Jones Beach, which are both large beaches. I don’t think it would be another burial ground No privacy like in Gilgo or other town beaches. JMO
