ADMIN NOTE:

Our WS member morf13 is an established contact of Tricia's and a very reliable and trusted source.

In real life morf13 is Mike Morford, who is the host of the Citizen Detective true crime podcast, along with his co-hosts Dr. Lee Mellor and Naama Kates.

As a highly regarded and trusted source, Morf13 is not required to provide links to what he states as fact about this case.

ADMIN NOTE:

Rex Heuermann's family, his wife, son and daughter are off limits for sleuthing. It's fine to discuss what is said about them or by them in MSM, but to sleuth out their information and/or post links to their social media or online persona is absolutely against Websleuths TOS. Members who continue to do so will find themselves on a thread ban.

This is Websleuths 101 ... read The Rules and you won't have any problems.

Thank you.

MOD NOTE:

>>> Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. <<<

The "victim friendly" rule extends to family members of victims and suspects.
Sleuthing family members, friends, or others who have not been officially designated by law enforcement or in mainstream media as a Person of Interest or suspect is not allowed.

This does not mean, however, that statements made by family members and other third parties cannot come into discussion as the facts of the case are reported in the media. Members may reasonably discuss what is said in MSM by them or about them, but do not make random accusations, insinuations, suggest their involvement, trash, bash or attack them, or speculate negatively about them.

Also, General fundraising discussion is not allowed. The ONLY part of a fundraiser account that is allowed for discussion is any previously unknown specifics/facts contained in the introduction (NOT COMMENTS) that relate directly to the case.

Speculation about why family members set up the account, the funds raised or what those funds may or may not be used for is off limits. Discuss the case, not the peripheral issues of fundraising.

You’re posting privileges are subject to suspension should you choose to violate these, or any other rules.

To clarify, John Ray has been a major figure in the LISK investigation for a long time. Videos where a major "case player" is interviewed (i.e. family members, investigators, lawyers who are prominent in the case) are generally allowed. We only ask that members get approval before posting a link because there are actually some hosts we would not allow regardless of who they were interviewing. (There aren't many, but they do exist ;)).

Joe Giacalone does not have blanket approval at WS but when he is interviewing John Ray or other major figures who are an important part of this case, his videos are allowed.

The day after RH was arrested.

I never saw this claim before by Ray Tierney or anyone else.
Why did LE think this?

"Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney told the court his teams intended to follow Heuermann, who they have been watching since last year, for longer but feared he was about to flee the country. "

As prosecutors brought the case to a grand jury last week, authorities were concerned that Heuermann could find out about the proceedings and try to evade arrest, possibly by leaving the country, Harrison said.

'Police discovered the first set of female remains in bushes along an isolated strip of waterfront property on Gilgo Beach while searching for another missing woman: Shannan Gilbert, a 23-year-old from Jersey City, New Jersey who hadn’t been seen since May 2010.

The remains of Melissa Barthelemy, 24, were the first to be discovered in the case during the search on December 11, 2010, according to Suffolk County officials. Two days later, investigators discovered the remains of three additional victims – Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Amber Costello and Megan Waterman – strewn across a half-mile stretch on Gilgo Beach.

The four women, who were wrapped in camouflaged burlap, worked as escorts who advertised on Craigslist and were last seen between July 2007 and September 2010, officials said.''

On this sneak preview, where were the 4 (now 5) bodies found; on the right side closest to the ocean or in the median strip?
Ocean Parkway runs on the east/west axis. The bodies were found on the north side of the highway, about 20 - 30 ft from the shoulder of the westbound lane.

ETA: Deleted map, its the same one @dotr posted above.

I'm just watching the JR news conference from the beginning. He begins by saying he's been working this case since 2011. That's a long time; maybe even longer than most of the LE and DA staff who started out. He says he's in pursuit of Shannon Gilbert's killers and the full truth of the facts and circumstances of all these murders. He says he represents the Gilbert's family (which may not be for long if the sister's response leads to them rethinking his involvement imo), plus "several victims of RH who survived him, who were attacked or stalked by him". I wonder who these other survivors are. I'd love to hear their stories.
MOO.

I would really like to know what RH meant by MISS-LEADERS under the heading PROBLEMS in his notes. All the other items are self-explanatory or can be easily figured out what he meant, but this particular one I can't figure out. I can't even come up w/any possibles yet. I saw someone in an earlier thread thought they knew what it meant, and another poster even agreed w/them, but I didn't see how it could be right, bc of the fact that he had listed this under PROBLEMS. I've forgotten what the other poster thought it meant, but I remember thinking that couldn't be it, because that really didn't fit as a "problem" for RH. So I'd like someone with more creativity than I have to see if they can figure out what he meant by MISS-LEADERS. Could it be a construction/architecture term? Was he ever in Mississippi? Did he mean the word 'mislead', like people who misled him, i.e. liars? Or things he wanted to keep in mind to more easily mislead others? (I think that's more what the other poster guessed he meant.)

Am I correct that he wrote these notes long after he'd killed his 1st victim allegedly? About 10 yrs after even? So he wasn't exactly a rookie at it, but he was obviously still working on improvements. It comes across to me as written after only say, 3 or 4, maybe 5 kills. But seems like there would have been many more in that many years, but maybe he was just slow starting, picking up speed (victims) later.

MISS-LEADERS... something he considered one of the many problems he might encounter, or already had encountered. I'm just drawing blanks. What could he have meant by that???

[had to bring this forward from last thread without knowing exactly how so I copy & pasted]

Let's be clear:

Those posters who believe that AE and VH are witnesses are working on considerably more than a gut feeling.

Under his list of Problems

Photos and Miss-Leaders are the only 2 on the list that he has a "?" after.

Had he been misled by a SW which caused him problems?
How could he be misled by a SW?

Why is it listed under "photos"?

This is only my assumption, but I read it to mean things that divert attention away from him, related to having stories ready. JMO.
