We could take that statement literally (with a grain of salt) and speculate that evidence was found there too. That house looks abandoned too, and like it is tipping forward. Is it just me?

Odd angle of pic, MOO. The front portion of the house appears to have possibly been added to the rear portion which sits lower on the hillside. I wonder if the back portion of that building is an original farmstyle house whose foundation is built into the side of the hill and the front portion added in later years.

JMO Just the angle...also, I got too excited thinking that that is the cottage where Hannah was found. Re-checking google maps, I see that it is not, that it is too close to the road and further down the street. But why would someone think it too was a crime scene, unless it perhaps, IS part of the crime scene? JMO

What if bones got strewn onto that property? If they are finding evidence there, wouldn't they include that area as part of the crime scene?

I want him to get the death penalty. Lucky for Virginia, we are right behind Oklahoma and Texas in using death penalty. 2 possible capital murder for MH and HG, he will get the DP.

You're brilliant...thanks for your input.

Not every search warrant would have to be on JM, could be other places she was that night or who knows, but yes, i am sure they were.

i'm thinking if people didn't voluntarily let them search their properties or if the owner could not be located then they had to get a warrant before searching the particular property.

I've been reading some of Hannah's twitter posts as well. It just seems so wrong that she is no longer here because of JM.

Even though he is now behind bars, I can't help but wish this meant that all of the young ladies who died at his hands, could magically come back home and resume their lives. It makes me wonder just how many young women would walk through their doors to be reunited with their families.

At least with Hannah, JM was captured on CCV. This means no more deaths of women by this monster. Who knows how many lives have now been saved?

Her twitter feed is absolutely soul-crushing. That someone so vibrant, witty and brilliant could be taken from the world because an impotent monster had to feel a modicum of power and control over his twisted life by having a few seconds of sexual release...it makes me seethe with rage. What is it that makes a person (term used very loosely) feel that they can TAKE someone from their family, from their life, from their future? I wish there was a way to identify that compulsion and eliminate it somehow.

If only these predators had the capacity to think of their loved ones...mothers, sisters, daughters, nieces and nephews being snatched by a stranger for their own nefarious purposes. Just one moment of contemplation should be able to stop them in their tracks, but alas....the unthinkable brutality of humans against other humans marches on. It is heartbreaking.

This is SO interesting. I didn't follow the AM case but I have been reading a bit about it lately. When I heard RAT's lawyer saying they were awaiting the forensics reports (paraphrase) I began to wonder whether JM had been involved. There was a ton of evidence in RATs home, correct? But he continually denies killing her? Did RAT and JM know each other? Share? OMG it is too creepy and awful. But my gut says yes....

AM is the girl seen walking in the parking lot behind a car we thought looked like JM's?

I agree Evie, but why search in November? Why not NOW?!! (assuming they have new information)

Resources? I would think if they need to chose how to use them, they probably need to work on a degree of closure on the current case. But then again, maybe they are just SAYING November, but will move sooner.

But it's only recently, since JM's arrest, that they tested his DNA against that unknown DNA from AM's case. They might have those answers, but we certainly don't.

Early in the case when Alexis car was found they ran it to collect DNA, they had the DNA and connection to morgan and the 2005 rape just no suspect so in order to rule out a case connection they would have compared the unknown suspects dna with the unknown DNA found in the car.

Which IMO is why Nelson county has agreed to have it tested ,it didnt even appear to have to go to court to be challenged they just said "ok"

Yes, gorgeous country. Such a peaceful area to be. I take comfort in the fact that even if her last moments were pain and panic filled, at least once he was done and had left she was surrounded by the peace and the beauty of the land, cradling her safely til she could be found and returned to her loved ones.

That's a nice thought wrapped up in a pretty package. I don't see it that way and don't want to take one minute part away from his evil act and what happened to her body after she died. (No offense... I debated whether to post this differing view... I still appreciate your sentiment...)

IF JM is associated with AM's murder, wouldn't there have been a match with the MH and Fairfax rape profile? RAT wanted JM's DNA tested, but if his DNA matches those profiles, wouldn't that have shown up before? (Not as HIS DNA, but as a match with the other two profiles?)
Maybe it DOES match the DNA from the beer bottle that RAT said corn row dude drank from, but that might only have just been checked. In Alexis' case, a t-shirt belonging to RAT with Alexis' blood and hair extensions wrapped in it were found in RAT's living quarters. It's possible that the DNA from the beer bottle has been sitting in limbo waiting for it's (non emergency) turn in DNA comparison. JMO.
