I was trying to find a way to link how it's become such a sensational story. Many here don't really find it that prestigious either. But it was the only case tied directly to the school and its administration. . . ."

If it weren't for the publicity surrounding this case, I would not have known that UVa was founded by Thomas Jefferson. To me, a link to Thomas Jefferson says "prestigious!"

Yes, I remember that pic too- looked shorter.

Just from my own perusing, a lot of his acquaintances have or have had dreads. I've found multiple postings of people he knew/knows on social media about having dreads, cutting dreads, no longer having dreads, etc. So, while I at first thought the dread-growing for JM was potentially linked to him wanting to alter his appearance after Sketch came out, I'm kind of thinking no. I think it happened to be a trend among some of his buddies. JMO.

It's so hard to know what really goes on in other people's heads ever, even if you know them very well. It's just useful rear view extrapolating. JM hasn't shared his thoughts yet. Any chance he'll be on the witness stand?

I think he has shown he won't be cooperating. If he takes a plea someplace down the line, he would have to admit to his crimes though. I doubt he would testify otherwise, nor would he be advised to, Imo.

Ha- maybe JM was the one that actually started the dreads trend among his buddies... after deciding to grow them b/c he was recognizable. Yes, who knows.

Wow, can you imagine what that would be like if he were ever on the witness stand?? My oh my. That would be a sight.

I am not talking about his strenght. He is a monster. But walking through the woods getting hung up on branches or trying to wall through brush and brambles.

I feel he has to choose a wider path and one that is not filled with brush and brambles. Strenght has nothing to do with walking through the woods.

I live near a large wooded area and I walk there about once or twice a week. We have a huge deer population around here and they make very nice paths all through the woods. We have so many deer around here there is at least one or two or even eight in my backyard eating and sometimes even napping.

So, while I walk along the road I have remembered where each path starts and ends and I know exactly where to enter to avoid bushes and thorns.

I am wondering if there are areas around JM's parent's home and his former residence and anywhere else familiar to him that is wooded. I would like to know if he is the outdoorsy type, and if he was known to enjoy hiking through the woods. Because, most country boys do know about deer paths and AFAIK he was a country boy.

My point is that people who are not familiar with the woods would see prickers and bushes everwhere and think no people can walk there while the locals might walk those woods every day and know where the deer paths are. I just hope the locals are searching. And when I say locals I mean everyone within a 50 mile radius of Charlottesville (and beyond).

HG is clearly wearing a large watch on surveillance... wonder why they haven't mentioned keeping an eye out for that like they have her clothing/cell etc...hmmmm..

Is there Lyme disease there? I got it from my woods so be aware.

Deer where I live do not make groomed trails. They do not care about dead fall or overhanging branches.

They even ate my shrub roses one winter. Those have the biggest thorns ever.

I was angry until they started growing out and it was if they were pruned by a landscape expert,

Do you have snakes? We don't.

Deer, bear, skunk, wolf. But nothing that will kill you like a snake

I highly doubt it. It's rarely a good move under most circumstances anyways.

The very idea of dumping a body..I cannot even fathom it. Also, though I do understand the magnitude of the search, I find it so dificult to understand how someone could dump a body and it not be found, Happens a lot. but you'd think that it would be difficult to do., going into a woodland area, the grassy areas and just dropping a body off, thinking it won't be found. Yet, even in my own yard, there are swales and underbrush at the edges where, yes, something could be hidden. But I' would think that anything would be found very quickly with dogs and modern search techniques. THe drones are being used, are they not?

The way you have this forum sharing information lives up to Thomas Jefferson's ideals.

A body should be found if the searches are in the right area, with the right dogs, etc...
But with little or no idea where to look?
Marc Klaas (Polly's father) once said the world is so big and a body takes up very little space...
I think it mostly luck when a victim is found...and more surprising, Imo, than when not.

Yes, there is Lyme disease. Off! helps prevent that.

Yes to snakes - copperheads and rattlers as well as lots of other more benign types. But those aren't active much this time of year or in the middle of the night.

During my research, I stumbled on stories of at least two recent finds of bodies in Manassass, VA and two at the I-95 ramps to Stafford County. The two in Stafford have been ID'd but I sure hope that efforts are made in every Unidentified body found to be matched against nationwide as well as local and statewide databases.

Regarding the media coverage of this case, it feels like when one sensational factor "ends", another one pops up.

First you had the camera footage.
Then you had Longo's PCs and media appearances.
Next, the manhunt.
Now the serial killer possibility.

Each one of those aspects brought in a lot of attention and discussion, but eventually faded, and then there was something new for the media and public.

As a mother I can't imagine what her parents are going through. It would be so very hard for me to not go to the jail & DEMAND that he tell me where she is and use ANY means to make him tell me.

I know. I have thought several times. . .all this effort, people and man hours. . .and all the answers are sitting right there in jail with JM. . . :banghead:

We've had our thinking caps on for several weeks now.

People have been out searching for Hannah for weeks now.

Unless LE is just keeping it to themselves, NOTHING has been found.

All the women who are missing from the 29 corridor, NOTHING has been found. It's inconceivable.

WHAT ARE WE MISSING? Who is this guy, who is supposedly "slow," but no, he's a sociopathic predator, a reactive creature of instinct, and all the brain power and foot power all these people can put together can't figure out where he hides things? What/who is he and where are all these women? Where are all their clothes, their purses, their shoes and cell phones and sweaters and jewelry?

'Scuse me, but MH was his ONLY mistake? And not even she was found for over three months?

This is just danged crazy. As crazy as anything I have EVER seen.
