We are seriously considering moving to Hi.................now I don't know.

Hawaii News Now (combined local NBC [KHNL] news and CBS [KGMB]) also reports the moving of the clothes.
Charli Scott's sister found clothes that she says Charli was wearing when she disappeared Sunday night.

Sources tell Hawaii News Now, the sister found the items while searching the area around the Hana Highway. The family called police Thursday evening and were apparently told them to stay there with the items until a detective arrived. But the sister instead drove the items to the police station in Kahului where the clothes and blanket are being processed.

wanted to add that this report is written sounding like her sister actually found the clothes, but I think she just identified them, not found them.
FYI: KHON is local Fox and KITV is local ABC

Mauijen. Not sure if you got my response to your pm. It says your box is full. I want you to know I appreciate your info and thoughts. Let's find Charli

Locals-I'll pose this question to you.

I read the interview with Ex/BD. He states Charli was behind him (he lost sight of her headlights near Twin Falls). Since her car was found burnt, and clothing was found in another location. I'm struggling to make sense of what happened to her. As well as wondering why he failed his poly.

Was she intercepted somewhere? How could that have happened? She was at her sister's when SC called her and asked for help. Did Charli have an apartment?

Thanks. Since you live there, MauiWatch is a reputable news, right? Because they are reporting that the sister took the clothes to LE, per "sources." The other news didn't say this. They also let pics of evidence on their fb. Just curious what is real and not. In my town, we have local news that are not reputable. Just curious.

I think the people who run the MauiWatch page are pretty reputable, and they try to do their best to remind people to stay focused in the comments, but it is a Facebook page. I do think if it's posted by MauiWatch, it's probably pretty accurate. The photo that was posted on their page, was posted in the form of a comment by someone else - something the MauiWatch people probably can't control too much. The MauiWatch people have since removed that comment and photo. I've noticed they've removed a few other things too. They also have withheld posting a few updates until they've received the OK from the family. I appreciate that.

The page exists mostly as a place for locals to get up-to-the minute info on what's going on on the island. It's mostly traffic related under normal circumstances (accidents, road closures, beach closures, etc) - and a great source of info. I rely on it heavily. If I see smoke that doesn't look like a cane burn, I'll pull up MauiWatch to see what's going on, that sort of thing. I think they get their initial tips from the community, post some things as "unofficial reports coming in from the south side blah blah blah", to get the word out / ask if anyone in the area knows anything, then follow it up quickly with official info or clarifications.

When the page first started, it was called TagumaWatch, Taguma is a notorious MPD officer known for giving tickets to EVERYONE he pulls over (rumor is he even gave his own mother a ticket). Nobody gets out of a Taguma ticket. There were bumper stickers sold for awhile that said "Taguma Got Me". So the TagumaWatch page started to let people know where Taguma was hiding so they'd slow down or know to be on the lookout. People would snap photos of him on / off duty, post Taguma sightings, etc. It was extremely popular. Well, the county didn't take kindly to it and threatened a lawsuit or something. So they just had to change the name. The page has evolved quite a bit since then.

I don't think anyone knows these answers. Also, as far as I know, there's been no official confirmation that he failed the polygraph (he said he was told he failed but felt it was a "tactic" by LE, I assume to get more info from him) and someone commented on a facebook page I believe (could be wrong about this) that Charli's Mom was told he failed the polygraph. But officially, nobody has confirmed that. At least not that I've seen.

All of those questions are what everyone else is wondering. I believe Charli lived in a cottage / ohana in Makawao, but I don't know this for sure. (this is based on conversations I've had with her personally and the impression I got from her). There aren't many apartments complexes in Makawao. A cottage would be like a detached separate rental unit at a main house (usually a studio or small 1 bedroom. Like a small house). An Ohana would be like an attached rental unit on a main house, sometimes part of the downstairs, or this is what we would call an above garage apartment. Does that make sense?

Tulessa, don't let this case deter you. Someone stole someone's recycling out of their bin at the curb and that made our news. :floorlaugh:

Two friends who work for the helicopter company involved in the search said the police said he passed his polygraph..... It's a weird story from every side

Yes, like Plumeria5 said. This sort of thing is Very, very unusual. I think this is why there is so much public speculation and the coconut wireless is going crazy on facebook - we just don't know how to handle this sort of situation, especially twice in a month on Maui! I've lived here for 12 years now and I honestly had to search my house for 2 hours earlier this week to find a house key so I could start locking my door for the first time ever!! People are freaking out and just don't know what to think. Just a few weeks ago a female visitor was asking me if it was safe for her to go walking by herself in Kihei and I was actually laughing at the question. (I feel bad now for that). I was telling her how many times I've gone hiking by myself and I've never felt uncomfortable with that. I can say that I wouldn't do that now (and probably never should have honestly - anywhere), but this really is a very safe place. On Maui we watch the Honolulu news and think how lucky we are to live Maui where the biggest news is the horse that got out or like I said earlier where the traffic accidents are or where Officer Taguma is giving tickets for the day.

I wasn't even aware there was like a "crime rate" for HI. We just never hear about it stateside. We were going to go to HI for our honey moon but decided on cancun because time zones. But I looked a lot up on HI and could not find one really high profile crime/murder.

Then there was another post on the Find Charli FB page that says this:

SEARCH PARTY UPDATE!

The search party will be meeting in Hana at the Maui Invasive Species Base Yard (near the "Welcome to Hana" sign, mile marker 32). At 8am.

By 8:30am everyone will be out and searching! Between mile markers 46 and 56; please head to mile marker 46 asking for Jeff, if no one is at the base yard.

No bases will be set up anywhere else, focus is entirely in Koali Kipahulu tomorrow.

MEETING AT MAUI INVASIVE SPECIES BASE YARD AT 8AM
(near "Welcome to Hana" sign, mile maker 32, before Hana Airport Road).

They seem a bit contradictory, but after giving it some thought, I'm thinking the Find Charli page is speaking mostly to the ON FOOT volunteer searchers, which it sounds like will be focusing in the Kipahulu area now (so starting to head even farther past Hana). Whereas the Morey Inc page is including all the other various searchers (Air, Sea, Horse, Dirtbikes, etc) - and it sounds like they are maybe going to go along the highway from Kula towards Kipahulu. I'm hoping the ocean search will focus in the areas they found her clothing, but then again - I'm sure we don't know what LE knows and I'm hoping LE is giving much more information to these searchers than they're giving to the public. From what I can tell, LE has not mobilized any type of official ocean search. It's all volunteer at this point.

It's also possible that the Kula location is just a meeting point for carpooling to the Hana MISC Baseyard for the people who want to go the back way around.

I appreciated these 2 video newscasts!

KHON2 news report with video posted Fri at 10:29pm:

http://khon2.com/2014/02/14/new-evidence-found-in-missing-maui-woman-search/

Search leaders told KHON2 on Friday night that they found Scott’s shoes and some other valuables of hers in the same area where her clothes were found on Thursday night, off Hana Highway near Honomanu Bay.

“It’s really interesting how it all played out. There’s a good 20-plus miles between where the car was found, the clothes that were found, and then the dog itself all they way in Nahiku, and that’s a big distance,” said Pat Mulligan, who’s helping to post updates on social media.

On Friday, police searched Scott’s home in Makawao looking for DNA evidence.

Dozens of people searched a widespread area from Haiku to Keanae for about 14 hours.

Police brought in the canine unit to help look for Scott as others continued to search on horseback and on foot.

KHON2 news report with video posted Fri at 3:37pm:

http://khon2.com/2014/02/14/search-continues-on-maui-after-missing-womans-clothes-found/

The search continued Friday on Maui for Carly Scott after friends and family say her clothes and a blanket she kept in her car were found in a pile off Hana Hwy. near Honomanu Bay and Keanae.

Police were also at Scott’s house in Makawao Friday where Scott’s mother, Kim, was swabbed for DNA.

I'll put these links on the other thread too.

I can't imagine what happened to her.

Good description of the exbf's attitude. Detached. He doesn't seem broken up about it at all. He supposedly called her to help him, she shows up, she's suppose to be following him on a dark windy road and disappears, and he's not batting an eyelash about it let alone feeling bad that she was out there because of him and he didn't make sure she got home safely, and not even bothered to go back and try to find her or call anyone in her family to check to make sure she got home safely. And she's pregnant with his baby. Prince Charming, that's for sure. I'd be a blithering idiot if someone went out of their way to help me and I was the last one to see them and they disappeared.

I don't know if he passed the poly or not but I do know police lie as a tactic if they want to get a reaction out of the subject. Mark Lunsford was told he failed in Jessica's case when he had actually passed, they were trying to get a confession out of him. I don't put much faith in poly's.

Y'all need a good map, so I made one:

CharliScott_zps116c32b1.jpg

I went backward chronologically through news articles to find the most up-to-date info. These are the sources I used:

http://mauinow.com/2014/02/15/exclusive-interview-search-for-charli-running-on-adrenaline/

The Maui Police Department’s Special Response Team focused their efforts today on an area where the woman’s clothing and blanket was found at Nuaʻailua Bay, just East of Honomanū in East Maui...

Aside from the clothing that was found on Thursday at Nuaʻailua Bay–known to some as “Paraquat’s Beach”–Charli’s vehicle was found on Wednesday found burnt and on its side in the remote Peʻahi area above the surf spot known as “Jaws” on Wednesday, and her dog was found near the Nāhiku Market Place on Monday…

Carly “Charli” Joann Scott, 27, was last known to have left the Haʻikū area on Sunday night to assist her ex-boyfriend, who family members say asked for help in getting his car pulled out of an area near mile marker 20 of the Hāna Highway… He claimed that after he got his truck back on the road, they drove back in separate vehicles and he lost sight of her headlights around the Twin Falls area near Ulalena Road.

Probably should have put "" around the Headlights Vanished marker because it's what the XBF claims and not an established fact.

I used street view on Google Maps to find the exact building that houses Nāhiku Market. Glad I did because my first guess was way off. The market is on Hana Highway at Mile Marker 29.

http://www.examiner.com/article/mis...y-scott-hawaiian-woman-s-burned-suv-dog-found

Scott’s SUV was found at the top of “Jaws Surf Break,” a popular surf spot near Capobianco's home that is full of dirt roads, dunes and abandoned cars. The area is notorious for being a ditching spot for stolen vehicles.

Used this aerial video of the burned-out vehicle's location and was able to pinpoint the exact spot on Google Earth.

Ashleigh Hover, a friend of Scott's who lives in Kula, said that a search party found Scott's shirt, skirt and a blanket around 6 p.m. Thursday on a dirt road by Honomanu Park around Mile Marker 15… "We went down last night because if they found her clothes that maybe she could be down there and need us," said Gaines. "So against all the authorities' wishes we went down there anyways. My husband hiked the trail almost all the way down to the beach, and he didn't see anything."

Steven: "So I knew Charli because she was my ex-girlfriend from three or four years ago {asks someone, "Does that sound right?"} Five years ago, it was five years ago and we have kept in touch this entire time. We were still friends. We still knew each other."

Mileka: "Are you the father of her unborn child? That's what we've been told."

Steven: "That's what I've been told. I never got a piece of paper that said it or anything, but I would believe it."

Mileka: "So were you guys dating again?"

Steven: "No, we just occasionally hooked up."

http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/...l&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

It seems a bit contrary that he appears to distance himself from saying he was having a current relationship with Charli, outside of an occasional hookup, yet he calls her when he has car trouble. .moo.

Has there been any word of scratches, cuts, or dog bites anywhere on Steven?

The burned out truck reminds me of the Mickey Schunick case. The convicted murderer in her case had torched and tried hiding his white truck to cover evidence as well.

When Steven called Charli to pick him up I wonder if this was a plan he used to trap and set her up? Maybe his car was never broken down at all.

Is there confirmation the ex-bf's car was ever broken down on the road? He called Charli, she picked him up and then who knows what happened?

BBM I agree and I think you could also add " " around BF's truck as that isn't a proven fact either.

The scattered clothes, dog somewhere else, car somewhere else ... it reminds me of the Whitney Heichel case. The perp also scattered her belongings throughout the city and left her car in yet another place, while dumping her body in an entirely different location.

What about her phone? Has it been found? Is it switched off? I might have missed that piece of information.

She has been missing for a week now. She has no clothes on apparently and is 5 months pregnant. I don't see how this can end well :( At this point I'm 100% sure there is foul play involved.

Could she have been thrown in the ocean? Where on this route from Hana to Haiku are spots where you can drop a body in the water?
