Not the greatest idea to incite a mistrial by a witness trying to influence the jury rather than just answering the questions. Cardoza is just trying to make sure that whatever the outcome by the jury it sticks.
 
Apo noted that Wirth was instructed by Rivera to not show the unicorn and Wirth said she wasn’t aware she couldn’t wear a unicorn shirt.

Apo: “The whole reason you did that is justice for Charli?”

Wirth: “Yes, I am here for justice for Charli.”

Apo: “Making sure Capobianco is found guilty right?”

Wirth: “I think justice – I think everyone has a right to a trial and I’m not one who (inaudible) guilty or innocent that’s your job.”

The court asked the witnesses and those in the gallery not to wear anything that could sway a jury. We do not want the jury to find cause for a mistrial. Wearing unicorns and Marsy's Law tshirts is clearly in support of the victim. Honestly, I don't think it's unusual or out of line to show support for the victims but in this case, where the State is trying SC based on circumstantial evidence, I think the judge's order should be respected. We all know SC he murdered Charli and Joshua, I have faith in the State that they'll prove it.

So unicorns and Marsy's Law shirts are banned, the color purple isn't! Hair ribbons, lipstick, anything to show support. We just need to be creative.

I hate waiting until noon PDT to find out what happened the previous day.

On the other hand, Maui News has done a bang-up job of capturing the court highlights. Kudos to them for publishing longer free articles and helping us fill in the blanks.

Goodness. We certainly don't want to give Apo anymore fuel towards his flimsy defense that the world is out to get Steven.

UNICORNS banned in Maui courtrooms. What is wrong with this world? Marsi's Law, I can see as a political statement, victim names as promoting their sides directly, but unicorns? Is red hair banned too?

Steven hates unicorns .... (Based on his disgust each time he mentioned one.)
 
I might be really stupid but I am having a super hard time participating in this discussion. I cant get in then when I do it kicks me out. That being said, thank you for the welcomes. I have only participated in one crime slueth before and only because feral pigs were being falsely accused. I gave my theory on what happened and what would happen and I " called it " when thé bodies were found. That' s what poster's said. It was really clear to me right from the start. This case is very différent. I have an idea but I am not sure it makes sense. Poor Charli.
 
Onipaa - feel free to share your theory. You're in good company, we've all theorized wildly at some point in the past 2 years.

It kicks me out, too. Short timeout... I recommend that you write your post in MS Word, or Notepad, or Wordpad and then login and copy/paste.
Don't give up on us, we need fresh opinions.

Unicorns have a sexual connotation. :laughing: Everybody knows that. :lol: [insert sarcasm]

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with sympathizing with the victim/victim's family. Witnesses are sworn to tell the truth. That's all that matters. If they are testifying for the prosecution, they clearly have something to testify to that supports the prosecution's case.

But to play devil's advocate for just this one post, there is zero support for SC so far. And he is entitled to a fair trial. The evidence really speaks for itself. Maybe it would be best to dial it down a notch.

And Apo - buy SC a new shirt FFS.

Steven has family in the audience. His Aunt Susan for one. Whats the point of the rally wear? To muster support? To influence? Really looking for problems in my book. Its why they require uniforms in school. Maybe Susan should go down to Walmart and buy one dem Bishop St. aloha shirts.

I sympathize with technical problems posting. That is not a problem I've had but it sounds like others have. There is an auto-save feature that has allowed me to retrieve the occasional post loss.
 
I think all the judge's rules need to be obeyed, so not arguing the bans, was just pointing out its got to be a first to specifically ban unicorn images, even on Maui. :p

More seriously, Charli and Joshua were very nearly disappeared from the earth in all physical form, and I absolutely understand the desire of those who knew and loved Charli to remind the world she is gone but never forgotten, her voice taken but others will take up her voice. And will celebrate her dreams and faith in mythical beasts.
 
I agree with you but will say there are many more family than " Aunt Susan " The guy is a weirdo. Nuff said.
